Suggest a writing technique?

I know that some of my friends here in asianfanfics are already experienced and skillful when it comes to writing.

Inspiration is one thing that gave me a determination to write down what I feel and think about. But I'm still lacking ways on how am I going to excel on this field.

I don't actually know if I'm good at writing or what? This might sound like a douche but I don't know if I'm doing well or not since I don't get a lot of views on my story.

Hope someone will enlighten me though. :)

I saw this writing tip somewhere on a site, and it said to cut down on the use of "-ing" and "-ly" (adverbs). Ever since I regarded that advice, my writing style changed because of it.

I also look at the way good authors here on AFF write and see their style, what makes me want to continue reading sentence after sentence. And this is usually because of their sentence variety structure, and so I make sure that no two sentences are alike now.

For example:
Kyungsoo sighed, soaking in the rays of sunlight.
Fei laughed, grinning at the teenage boy.

Now you can see it's not so interesting because there's no variety.

I also write what I want to read. What I want to see more of. (ugh psychological xD)
The description of your story always attracts the reader. I find that using one sentence lines attract a lot of attention if it's written properly.

Hello! :)
Honestly, 'writing technique' can be a very broad term. As far as I know, for technical stuff like descriptive writing etc, there are such techniques which allow writers to be able to write a story where the readers feel like they are living in it (it is mostly with the use of descriptive language, actually). There are also things like characterisation and plot where there really is no definite technique to them, but only suggestions and tips are given. I cannot give you concrete advice for the matter but what certainly helps is writing, practising and reading. Reading allows you to absorb and practising allows you to execute, and after you practise, you'll be able to learn and get the hang of things quickly. Also, if you are interested to improve your writing, I find review shops a good way especially if you ask from a variety. That will get you a lot of different opinions and you get to see your story in the light of different perspectives.
Another thing is, don't feel too bad if you barely get any views for your story because I think it happens quite common here due to the extremely fierce competition. I'll use Kpop groups as an analogy; for instance, groups can have huge brand names and succeed easily, but even if they aren't, they have to put in a lot of effort in PR methods, quality of songs (and public friendliness as well). There really are a lot of factors to consider. Ways to get your story well-known are advertising via shops (paying of small amounts of karma) and the old AFF advertising method (paying of huge amounts of karma). Yes, it is rather unfortunate because PR methods seem to be more important than the quality of stories >_<
Well, seems like I have babbled on too much, but hopefully my advice(?) helps in some way! ^^
