The Red Bullet Concert

I feel like as a K-Pop fan, especially one living in America, specifically in New York City, I have to make this post.

What the actual .

Although I did not attend the concert yesterday, I knew quite a few of my friends did attend the event and were incredibly disappointed at what happened. First of all, New York K-Pop fans rarely get visits from idols and when they do it's brief and small and limited. Sure the market is opening up now, but previously and even now groups like EXO have not even graced the East Coast. I am immensely aggravated that some people think it'd be okay and funny to send death threats to some Korean boys that after much difficulty, have finally come to New York. you. I feel so bad for the groups of fans that waited outside the venue for hours yesterday and especially the VIPs who paid extra for a HiTouch that did not even happen. I also feel really bad for the BTS members because their first real gig in New York has been ruined like this because people thought it was okay to post pictures of themselves with guns on the ing Internet and threaten to come for them.

This brings me to a whole other problem that needs to be addressed: Fans who don't know when to stop.

I have one thing to say to those fans who think it is okay to be a saesang and to bash other fans and obsess to the point where they scare and endanger the people they idolize: Aren't you tired of it yet? I know the majority of fans are quite chill and cute and overall good people. However, there is always that select handful of fans that just do not understand when enough is enough and when no means no. What is the purpose for doing all these things? At the end of the day, hate is just going to destroy you. When you doing something extreme like send death threats, you are only damaging the reputation of your fandom and your idol. The more you try to get closer, the more they will push you away. Furthermore, to fans who do not understand how to be moderate and considerate to other fandoms, what is the use of arguing and picking a fight? It isn't going to change their minds, you might feel the need to stand up for your idol but what is the point in bashing theirs and calling them out? It's downright hypocritical, hurtful, and in the end does not make you a better person. Be the bigger person, the better fan, and be tolerable and supportive of other fandoms, even if you don't like them. Respect makes the world go 'round. These saesang acts and the need to take such procedures like what happened at the BTS concert gives K-Pop a bad reputation, something all K-Pop fans should refrain from. To those fans, if you want people to stop thinking we're insane, you should think before you do something like that.

If this post offended anyone, I wasn't purposely trying to do so. This was a rant and I am allowed in my country to say whatever I want, so I am going to do so. Don't pick a fight with me if you disagree. I'm not particularly interested and is there even a reason to, really? Thank you.
