... mintae park is well-known for one solid reason: she's the youngest and the only living offspring of a psychopath (mother) and a witchcrafter (father).

...with that considered, mintae grew curious on what challenges her parents went through— as for some reason, their personas intruiged the teen. she wanted to discover how her psychopathic mother conquered her insanities to bear and raise three children (two of which she had murdered after some time), and how their father grew to love their mother at such state. Mintae wanted to learn and unlock the mysteries of her family, and one of the ways she found was to enter several mental hospitals and even several terrifying asylums. she can't exactly explain how, but ...one day, she found herself in jeoju, the same place their father had come from. when asked how she got there, mintae has no past recollections but she's sure of one thing— she was sent there due to her severe case of insanity, obviously caused by the fact that she's been a witness to several murders and witchcraft her parents had done at such an early age.

...mintae often sports a long, below-shoulder length hair that she dyes in different hues of brown, black and sometimes, even blonde. she bears great pride on her silky smooth hair, and even if she's in jeoju, she still finds time to comb her hair and tidy it up. (as she believes she inherited their mother's perfect hair).

...mintae inherited their father's "enticing angel eyes", and like her hair, she sports great pride over them.

...mintae is tall for a normal female 97-liner. she often dresses in tight jeans and a simple tee, but during those "special" days" she feels really giddy, she chooses to wear dresses and night gowns (which, by any chances, makes her look like a beautiful ghost).

... mintae has two imperfections in her whole body: one four-inch scar on her left arm (caused by their mother's mental breakdown when she was five) and a severe burn on her back caused by an accident made by their father in one of his "spell casting" sessions.

... mintae is well known for having an angelic personality. according to her friends, she's an "angel sent from heaven". mintae is blessed with a heart of gold. she doesn't hesitate to stand up for those that is pushed down, she reasons out calmly and wisely and doesn't hesitate to help those who are in need, even if they don't ask for her help. she has a shy personality and doesn't speak much, but that doesn't hinder her from doing acts of kindness. she was kind at such a young age, making lots of people favor her.

... mintae was around 15 years old when their mother heartlessly murdered her two siblings, right before her eyes. that's when things took a turn for the female.

...when mintae was slowly being driven to the brink of insanity, she developed a new character: a character who sports a minty personality.

...she slowly developed a rude and out-going personality out of the blue. the once quiet and shy girl turned into some kind of mad criminal that would flash a terrifying yet mysterious smile. she didn't care that much for others as her once heart of gold slowly got corrupted. she slowly became foul-mouthed and ill-tempered. an excellent ability of deceiving others by faking her personality was soon developed throughout her insane years.

... sanghyuk had been terribly abused by his parents (especially by his mother) at an early age of four because of the fact that he is the offspring of his mother's incident during her teenage days. according to his mother, he ruined her wonderful life and had stolen away her youth. due to this abuse, he was gotten by the social welfare and had brought him to an orphanage, where he spent his next years in. 

...in the orphanage, he was terribly bullied by the other kids, thus, he grew isolated. fate had brought him luck though, as at the age of eight, sanghyuk was adopted by the han's.there, he was welcomed in open arms by his new mother, his new father and an seemingly loving older brother.

...just after 2 years of being legally adopted, sanghyuk began to face the trials of life. it was revealed this his father sleeps with different woman and even has a second party; his mother is a drunkard and his older brother is a jealous prick. one day, when he was around 14, after arriving at such a bad timing where his adoptive mother was drunk and having a rage (since his adoptive father's sleeping once more with another woman), his older brother had framed him for stealing their missing cash (whom the older brother himself stole) thus, angering their mother.

... it wasn't expected by neither of the boys when their mother grabbed a broken glass of wine and attacked sanghyuk with it out of anger. sanghyuk tried to defend himself but his furious mother had the upper hand. she slashed the glass through sanghyuk's arms, legs, even hitting and stabbing him (fortunately, not too deep) on the side and worse, had hit his left eye with it, causing it to severely bleed. once she had realized her doing, their mother hurriedly calls for help, sending sanghyuk to the hospital.

... aside from the severe damage of his left eye (which, by the way, is now blinded due to the attack), other wounds were labeled as mild and easy to heal. the social welfare kenw of this incident and took action, imprisoning their mother for her deed. yet again, sanghyuk was sent back to the orphanage with a blind left eye.

...people bullied him more because of that. they were unaware of sanghyuk's trauma and hardships, thus, the bullying continued. despite the orpahange's head mistress, mrs. lee, to stop the bullying over sanghyuk, they didn't stop.

...finally, sanghyuk met the last straw and something in him clicked. he was around 16 that time when he finally snapped after one of his everyday bullying sessions. without hesitation, he grabbed a nearby knife and stabbed his bullies one by one, mercilessly, until he saw no signs of life evident in them. at first, he was hysterical but when he realized that people would gather and mock him for this incident again, he knew he had to silence the whole orphanage.

...sanghyuk was the one who was behind of the orphanage's bloody murder. police and mental hospital nurses found him in mrs. lee's room (of course, with a dead mrs. lee with severed fingers and toes), all clad in blood and hysterical, wielding a knife close to his side. he had cuts too, cuts that were signs of a late suicide attempt. it wasn't easy to drag sanghyuk along with them, but when they did, they didn't hesitate to throw him to jeoju, where they knew sanghyuk's insanity would "perfectlY fit in".

 

meeting ♝ 

... when mintae first came to jeoju, she was placed in a cell just beside sanghyuk's. (of course, she didn't know then). she had no one to talk to that time, and talking to herself would just be plain boring, so she tries to talk to sanghyuk, who's on the other side. it started with simple "hello's" and when sanghyuk replied, they began to simply talk and keep each other company. but even if their cells were just beside each other, they never saw each other in personal.

... at the time jeoju's patients were had escaped, mintae walked calmly out of her cell, as if she isn't worried that the nurses would catch her anytime soon. while's she's calmly strolling down the halls, she ran by sanghyuk, whom she recognized through his voice. sanghyuk was all bloody and had wielded a gun. without even saying it, mintae knew that sanghyuk had committed murder. she promises him a safe journey if he accompanies her, which of course, he agrees to. 

...he and mintae found themselves in one of the labs sanghyuk had murdered a few doctors in earlier. there, mintae decides to do some witchcraft (which she learned from her father, by the way) and had officially made sanghyuk her doll, symbolizing that she won't let go of the promise she had made to him. after the ritual, she and sanghyuk flee from the place.

 

remorse ♝ 

 

... mintae had developed pity on sanghyuk after one of his killing spree. it had happened shortly after they escaped the place when the place's doctors and nurses chased after them. still wielding the gun, sanghyuk heartlessly and mercilessly shot them. mintae didn't know that he wielded a knife them and mercilessly slashed through their skins, even severing a few fingers from the dead doctors and throwing them away afterwards. 

... after that killing spree, mintae saw how sanghyuk broke into tears. when she asked why, sanghyuk answered with "I only wanted to be normal and free, accepted and loved. not isolated and considered psychotic. i'm a suffering human too." 

...another was when sanghyuk revealed to her that he's partially blind, telling her that his left eye is not a "real" eye. 

 

ending for doll ♝ 

 

...sanghyuk decides not to leave mintae's side and even suggested that they reside under one roof together. mintae agreed, but with the agreement that she can work in a few mental hospitals and asylums as she wants to crack the code of her family's resolve and seemingly "happy ending". sanghyuk agrees.

... sanghyuk even vows to stay by mintae's side, for she's the first female to whole-heartedly stay by his side, caring and listening to his dark secrets.

 

aftermath ♝ 

 

... it was one night when mintae had returned to the place she and sanghyuk stays. due to the lack of lighting, sanghyuk didn't instantly notice her. with the fact that he could only see her silhouette that time, and having a blind eye, it was terribly difficult to distinguish her.

... due to anxiety and fear, he decides to grab a broken glass to use as a weapon. he mistook mintae to be his adoptive mother (due to the fact that, according to him, their silhouettes are pretty similar and their voice as well) and went hysteric as he stabbed mintae. the wound is fatal and it didn't take long for mintae to lose her life.

... when sanghyuk realized that the woman was mintae, he broke down, blaming himself for killing his "only familY'. due to hysteria, he grabs a nearby gun, points it at his temple and shoots himself, dying and bleeding to death just beside the blood-clad female.
