Mini Rant About Myself. Lol.

As all authors know, it's hard to keep writing without inspiration. What's harder is when inspiration strikes at a time when you're really busy with work/school/family that writing fanfic should be the least of your priorities.

And this is what always happens to me. :(

I guess it's because when busy, all the brain juices are churning around so much that excess inspiration spills over to the other world we create when we write fics. And honestly, around 8 out of 10 times, I'd actually take a short break from whatever I have to do and just write what's in my head, lest I lose it again.

I don't know if you do it too, but sometimes I reread the last few chapters of my stories, just to get the "feel" for it again before I continue. And time and again, I read the words "I will be able to update soon". Then my eyes would land on the "last update date" and realize that it's been months since then (for the story I'm working on now, it's been 5 months D:).

I really really would like to kick myself for that.

I'm really really amazed at authors who are able to update weekly, or even once every 2 weeks. How do they do that? I'd really love to be as regular as that. :(

Maybe because I have these weird "things" about writing? Like, I prefer writing late at night, usually after midnight when everyone's asleep. I just want it to be reaaally quiet for me to get into the feelings (and so that no one would see when I start crying because of sad scenes lol). Also, I have this thing about the length of chapters... Since I don't get to update often, I want the chapters to be worth the wait, so they should be long enough and actually be able to move the story forward even just a bit...

I was actually thinking about cutting chapters short. Like, post half of the thing so people won't have to wait for too long, but it just feels... haphazard and incomplete...

Another thing is, I kind of jump around chapters. I usually have the last chapter written already. As they say, "Work with the end in mind." LOL. Sometimes I think it's a good thing to know where all of it is going, but it's also another reason why I'm unable to post too often, because during the time I should be spending writing the next chapter, I end up doing like, 3 chapters later.

And because I take too long, some of the things I planned for my stories, in those half-written chapters, already come true. Lol. Like in one of my stories, (sorry for the spoiler) Siwon gets offered to be part of a holywood movie. My last update for that story was 2 years ago. And now, if I update with that idea, the originality will totally be lost since he already did Dragon Blade. :(

Ah, I'm sorry for this pointless entry. This is me being irritated with myself. And also because I have no one else who'd understand thet woes of writing fics...

Anyway, I should go back to writing now. :) One sort of strategy I thought up is completing at least 2 chapters' worth first before posting an update, so in case I take too long again, I'd have a spare one to post at most 3 weeks later.

Sorry for wasting your time, and thank you for reading! *aff authors group hug*
