She is also greedy when she promotes their group whenever she appears on a show. She would do her best for the people watching so they would like their group. "Nervous" , Hyera is always nervous before a performance especially their first performances as she sometimes think she can't do it but she would believe in herself and will suddenly be confident when her members or her family cheers for her. Hyera lacks confidence a lot of times. "Shireo!", She doesn't like it when people force her to do something she doesn't want to. You have to bribe her so you could make her come with you or to do something. She wouldn't change her opinion about something unless you have proven yourself correct. BACKGROUND:
Their family started off as a middle class family. Her father is working as a company employee at an electronics company. Her mother is a patissiere at a bakery in Gwangju. Hyera has a protective older brother who is named Hoseok but now he is known as Bangtan's J-Hope. Hyera was a cheerful kid who always nailed her tests in school. She was sometimes bullied by other kids due to her intelligence and they wanted to scare her so she would make them copy but she knew it was unfair and so she told her dad about it and talked with her teacher. The teacher scolded the two kids who bullied her and so the teacher told Hyera to change seats with another student, far from the two boys. She learned Hapkido and Taekwondo as she grew so that she could defend herself from bullies.
Hyera always danced with three of her classmates for school events. She always loved to sing for the school events as well. Her parents were very proud of her and she started to love music like her brother. They both loved to listen to music together. They once danced together at a park not just to earn some money but because they loved to perform. She started to love music when she once watched performances of SNSD, Shinee, Girl's Day, Apink, B.A.P and VIXX. She started to learn dancing, singing and rapping by watching idols and learning online. She always listened to the tips or advices that the idols are giving to anyone who is aspiring to be an idol. Her brother also taught her a lot of dances and they often watched and learned stuff online by watching videos. She was always hard-working and determined. Hyera and Hoseok were both going to auditions. They always joined competitions as well. They made lots of friends. Hyera had mixed feelings when her brother passed the audition at BigHit Entertainment. She was happy that her brother will be learning lots and will be trained by teachers but she was also sad that she can't see her brother often. She cried a lot of times at night because she missed her brother. There was no one except her parents who would stomp at the cockroaches that Hyera is scared of.
Their parents and Hyera visited Hoseok once a week. The first week was hard for Hyera as she missed him lots but once she heard that they will visit him once a week, she was so happy that she jumped and jumped until she got tired. Their father is now the Chief Operating Officer or the COO at the electronics company so they had more income than before. Their mother decided to have her own bakery and the two help a lot but they also eat a lot there! Hyera was spotted by an SM agent when she danced Shinee's "Lucifer" at a dance competition. She won the second place and she was a little sad because she gave her best in that performance. She was walking with her friend who got third place when they were stopped by the SM agent. The agent called a guy from the judges and it was Superjunior's Heechul then he said, "Is Heechul enough as the proof?". The agent joked and then giggled a little. Heechul greeted them and said that they did well. Hyera and her friend Sooyoung who is now known as Red Velvet's Joy became trainees at SM Entertainment. She was supposed to be in Red Velvet as the fifth member but Yeri was chosen instead of her because the company thought that Hyera would be better as a member of Delite.
