Eternal Fall

Author's Note: This poem was duly inspired by my favorite season, Fall, and my favorite literary work, Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven".

The autumn leaves are falling

Falling down on Earth's cold floor

Dying falling to the floor

From the trees forevermore

As I walk I hear the crunching

Crunching crunching on the floor

Dead leaves crunching

Dead and crunching

Nothing more

Helplessly I watch them falling

Into piles upon the floor

Piles of death across the floor

Piling up

And nothing more

I can't save them from their dying

As they're falling to the floor

Falling dying to the floor

From the trees

Forevermore

Dead beneath my feet crunching

Lying dead across the floor

Only this and nothing more

Piles of leaves

Fall

Forevermore
