The stretching starts in the chest

The hole full of smoke swirling around the ribs

The inky mass crawls it's way upward toward the head

The smoke fills in around the brain

The brain begins to suffocate

The stretching begins in the heart

Near the back by the bars and ice

It starts to breathe

It starts to move

The dark stretches within the cavity of the body

It appears

It speaks in whisper tones

In sing songs 

It stretches around the eyes

The eyes now see flaws in clarity

Sharp defined scars 

Hyper focussing on those things once ignored

It stretches around every fibre of the being 

A parasite in a once healthy host body

It appears in sudden rush of dread

In a stutter

A rejection

A rainstorm 

It makes a home in the heart

In the back by the bars and ice

Soon it will stretch
