One of my favorite teachers is retiring next year and it makes me upset, but she has been working for a really long time so it makes sense. I wanted to get her a really awesome gift considering she really had an impact on my life (plus she puts up with my friends and me xD) so I was thinking of writing a book and dedicating it to her as she's an English teacher. I really want to go all out and get it officially published too if I can.

Does this sound too ambitious? I just want a really special gift that I know she won't receive from someone else because she really deserves it.

I don't know. I have a year to get everything finished which doesn't seem like a lot of time to be honest.
