TRAINEE BACKGROUND [ ♦ ] Irene didn't expect much as a trainee (I don't even think she knew what a trainee was), but the minute it was break time for the trainees, all of the "unnie" trainees sat with her, cooed at her, braided her hair, and attempted to speak with her. They just thought she was super cute and loved her. Well, that's how she made friends. When she was twelve, most of those trainees left the company and moved onto different things, leaving Irene by herself. She tried making friends, but many of the trainees found her childish nature very strange, thus driving them away. She did make friends however, with the people in her boarding dorm. So she wasn't a total learner, just at the company. After Irene got famous for producing "Breakdown", many of the trainees asked if she wanted to be their friends, but she just laughed, knowing that they wanted to leech off of her popularity.

Irene will continue working on a song in absolute silence at her studio until she passes out, which has had happened a few times. Even though people try to tell her to calm down and take a break from overworking herself, she just ignores them. No. Sure, Irene gets grossed out by things (Mainly bugs), but is she scared of them? Nope. While Irene's nickname is "Kid Unnie" for a reason, she is also very mature. Cracking constant jokes, being clingy, Irene is probably a better candidate for a child impersonator than most 5 year olds. BACKGROUND [ ♦ ] Irene was born in Brisbane, Australia to a family of over-achievers. Her dad is the CEO of Toyota's Australia branch, and her mom is the medical director of Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. She has one older brother named Jason Jang, better known Hanbyul, a member of South Korean Rock Band LEDApple. Ever since Irene could crawl, she enjoyed listening to American Artists Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Her parents noticed this and after also noticing that Irene had no other interests other than music, they chose that their daughter was destined to become a singer. So, a week later, when Irene was only three, she was signed up for private vocal lessons. The instructor was amazed by how much a mere toddler knew about singing just by studying techniques used by other singers. A year after her instructions started, Irene developed other interests. She still loved singing, but she wanted to do much more. So, after lots of  whining, her parents bought her an acoustic guitar, a violin, and a piano for her 4th birthday (yes, they spoiled her a bit). After mastering those instruments, her vocals, starting playing the drums and flute, AND being introduced to surfing courtesy of Hanbyul, a new program was being launched in Australia called "X-Factor", which was the search of new talent in singing. Irene and her family saw this as a huge opportunity for her, and they immediately signed her up for the auditions. She blew the judges away with her version of "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston and was complimented for her singing, despite only being 8. After placing 2nd in the competition, Irene was scouted by Starkim and asked if she wished to fly to Korea and further continue her training there. Her parents were slightly against it, seeing as how she'd have to go by herself at her young age, but allowed her to sign the contract after seeing how much she wanted to debut.

When Irene wanted to be a singer, her mom fully supported her and is even the reason for her daughter's audition at X-Factor. They also love to sing together for fun (despite her mom sounding like a dying walrus compared to her)

Whenever Irene is with Feng, the inner child in her surges out and they become known as 2Kiddies. The collab channel they started on YouTube showcases this a lot.
