History – Seulgi had been one of the most accpeting of the Institute; for so long she had wanted a real family, and suddenly she'd been given the chance to have one, albeit an unconventional one consisting mostly of other children. To the other 23 children, Seulgi was the most responsible; she studied the hardest [Debatable; she competed a lot with Kim Joonmyun in academics], exercised as required during their 30 minute breaks and abided by the curfews. Despite being a softspoken girl, it was evident that Seulgi viewed the other kids with friendliness and motherly concern, which earned her a few jests from their caretakers, who would call Seulgi 'Mummy Superior'. The girls and boys didn't interact much with each other [and there were even formation of close-knit cliques within the separate genders] but Seulgi had always been so genuine and sweet about her intentions to include everyone in her new 'family', that none of the other 23 kids could find fault with her.

A month shy of her 22nd birthday, all 24 residents of the Institue were gathered in a laboratory by the scientists of 3X0-DU5. Initially, Seulgi thought nothing of the abnormal request, so she busied herself with comforting the visibly nervous girls. Seulgi can distinctly remember the current of fear in the pit of her stomach when they were encased in pods against their will and injected in their necks, arms and thighs. Seulgi was probably the one that had the worst reaction to be tested on. She didn't scream or try to escape, but she felt as if her body had given up on her completely. She hallucinated for lengths of time and tears ran freely and numbly from her eyes. Seulgi didn't know how long she was being tested on, but after the experiment she had to be given a few days to recuperate. After the experiments, Seulgi immediately became cycnical in the presence of an staff member of the Institute. The scientists took note of that but most brushed it off. It was the caretaker who raised everyone that felt the full force of Seulgi's burning and hateful gaze.

To Seulgi's immense horror, everyone was assigned to a person of the opposing gender. Her partner was Kim Jongin, who was roughly 3 years her junior. Growing up, Seulgi saw herself as a sister to everyone else, so to be forcibly set up with Jongin made her immensely uncomfortable and scared. Rooming with Jongin proved to be less painfully awkward than she had expected. They kept a respectable distance from each other, though Jongin had the endearing habit of referring to Seulgi as 'noona', which never failed to earn him a small smile.

Then came the fourteen day training period in which they were taught the basics of gun usage and military protocol and strategies. It was during that period that Seulgi found herself to be quite the strategist. She also unconciously watched over Jongin's progress and found that he was without a doubt one of the fastest and most athletic. Going to Buncheon to eradicate the Infected wasn't much of a daunting task. Maybe, at the age of 15, Seulgi might've cringed at having to kill someone and discard of their bodies, but being experimented on had toughened Seulgi up. She just pretended that the Infected were the 3X0-DU5 scientists as she took them down.

Nearly a year later, a crisis arose. Each pair, at different timings began to display abnormal behaviour towards a specific element. Seulgi was in the Institute's library when she felt a sharp, stabbing pain shoot through her chest. Suddenly, Seulgi had felt like she couldn't breathe and her skin felt like it was on fire. The pain had grown so unbearable that she out, and when she had woken up, she first thing she had seen was Jongin's concerned face. They took some time to established their location [Daegu] but what had happened disturbed Seulgi. Jongin had explained that he had fallen asleep in their shared room back at the institute and the next ting he knew, he had woken up on the rooftop of a Daegu skyscraper. Seulgi had concluded that by him teleporting to Daegu, somehow her body had reacted to that and teleported her to Jongin. It hadn't taken very long for their absences to be noted, and they were tracked down and returned to the Institure within the day. Over the course of a few weeks, other pairs began to develop abilities that favoured varying elements. This time around, Seulgi did not mind the scientists' studying them because she was just as interested in the new development, though she was watchful of the things they did around her and Jongin.

Eventually everyone was reassigned to individual rooms. The scientists had the most difficult time to restrain Jongin and Seulgi. Over the past 6 months, they had learned to teleport at will, and at greater distances. They had tried escaping on numerous occasions, but only to be recaptured. That, with the new threat of being thrown to the mercy of the scientists instilled a reluctant fear in Seulgi.

Sometime later, Scientist Lee freed all 12 pairs and explained to them that
the Institute was planning to kill them and take him into custody. They managed to run away with the help of the head scientist, who refused to let the government destroy his creations.

Together, the twenty four of them unleashed their untame abilities on anyone who stood in their way. But just because their senses and immune systems were enhanced, it didn't mean they were immortal. Because Jongin and Seulgi were the fastest pair with the best reflexes, they only suffered minor cuts. Jongin hung closer to the defense line, comprising of Kyungsoo and Dani, while Seulgi stuck in the middle and kept an eye on the pursuers. She'd teleport to a person and move them out of a bullet's way if Dani and Kyungsoo were focused on protecting someone else, which was a helpful attempt, but that didn't stop people from getting seriously injured. Many were injured by the firearms wielded by the
Institute's authorities and guards, who tried to prevent them from getting to the hangar, where the head scientist was waiting with private aircraft. In the gunfire, Kris, the one who could gravitate, and Luhan, the one who could manipulate objects, were shot down. Seulgi had to drag their devastated partners away from their bodies. She also instructed Chanyeol and his partner to set the other aircrafts ablaze so that they couldn't be pursued immediately.

Seulgi had made it into the aircraft safely, but stood impatiently at the entrance for Jongin. Dani and Jongin were the last to enter with Kyungsoo following close behind. However, some of the guards were able to get hold of him. Dani held on to Kyungsoo for obvious reasons, refusing to let him go. The others were helping to pull him up. But as they wasted more time struggling, reinforcements in the form of an army tank arrived.

Seulgi knew if they didn't take off then, they would all be blown to bits. Years of repressing feeling scared, angry and betrayed finally collapsed on Seulgi when it seemed as if they'd be captured and killed. Seeing how panicked Sulgi was becoming,
Jongin pulled Dani back and kicked Kyungsoo down, and the plane took off without him. Everyone was initially upset with Jongin's actions, but he could've cared less about their feelings in that moment; he spent most of the flight calming down Seulgi, who cried hysterically in his shirt front.

Personality Traits
– [+] Charismatic, Loving, Loyal, Intelligent
– [-] Intimidating, Frank, Stubborn, Introspective

Personality
— Seulgi is a natural leader. The surety with which she moves combined with the eloquence of her words makes her a pretty charismatic young lady. People just tend to listen to what she has to say and follow her instructions.

— Loving and caring for others came easily to Seulgi before the Change. After being Changed, she's much more careful about the people she shows affection for. Even among the other Subjects, Seulgi is no longer inviting and radiates warmth like she used to, be she does care for them, only nowadays she tends to show it by visiting when she can, making plans with Joonmyun to protect them, as well as giving them money if they need it. But to be honest, thoughts of the others suffering haunts her dreams quite fequently, which is the main reason behind her visits; to ensure that her nightmares haven't become realitites. Towards Jongin, Seulgi is much more open about showing her affection. Kisses are reserved for private moments, but Seulgi isn't afraid to hug him and hold his hand in public.

— Growing up with the other Subjects has taught Seulgi how to be loyal. She worries about the others constantly and isn't afraid to kill someone for them. It's even worse when it comes to Jongin. If anyone looking remoely threatening is near him, she or she can expect a silently glowering Seulgi by his side watching to watch his or her every move.

— Along with Joonmyun, Seulgi is the smartest of the Subjects. Having eidetic memory and an interest to learn new things has made her a sharp-minded young lady. It's highly either her or Joonmyun that's going to figure out about Kyungsoo's mission as a Hunter first.

— After being betrayed by the Institute, Seulgi makes sure to send the message across to people that she is not to be messed with. She doesn't walk around snarling at people, but there's a distinctivly cold and unwelcoming look her eyes when she's around strangers.

— Seulgi likes to get to the point. Constant chatter irritates her as much as excuses do. She has an extreme unappreciation for liars, so she keeps things short and to the point.

— Do not tell Ahn Seulgi that she cannot do something she's already put her mind to. She plans her actions carefully before carrying them out, so she's almost always 100% percent sure that nothing could go wrong. Therefore, if you are not included in her plan, don't ask to tag along and don't try to stop her. Only Jongin and Jonnmyun [because she values his opinions and intellect] have permission to get in the way of her plans.

— Seulgi tends to examine her own concious thoughts and emotions a lot. This isn't a bad thing in itself, but by doing so Seulgi tends to be conflicted about the emotions she feels that she should display as well as mulling over past experiences and her feelings during such experiences. It makes her very anxious, and Jongin is aware of it. He understands why she's so different now, but he likes to remind her that he's been through the same things she has, and he still manages to laugh and smile a lot.

Bonds –
— Kim Joonmyun | Growing up, Joonmyun and Seulgi had a friendly competition when it came to academics.Where most of the girls looked up to Seulgi as a leader, the guys looked up to Joonmyun as a leader. When everyone was paired up, [after expressing shock] both were somewhat confused as to the reason why they weren't a pair, but decided that it happened for the best anyways. The others tend to call them the Masterminds of the group, because whenever they meet, they think of plans to ensure everyone's safety in the event that the Institute comes looking for them.  [just to clarify, the relationship is super platonic]

Things to Note –
— Subject has shown to have eidetic memory [the ability to recall images, sounds or objects from memory after only few instants of exposure  as well as some time after exposure with high precision]
— Subject is left handed
— Subject has frequent nightmares of being tortured at the Institute.

— Subject has an immense fondness of babies
— Subject loves anything sweet and frozen, i.e. ice-cream or frozen yogurt
— Subject prefers cool coloured clothing [i.e., blues, green, purples and others such as greys, blacks and white]
— Subject and partner share a love of dogs
— Subject has a knee injury from the events in Buncheon. Jongin has tackled her out of the way of a huge chunk of a collapsing building and she had landed on her left knee; her left knee acts up every time she over-exerts it.

— Subject and partner have acquired a mobile phone shared between the two of them
— Subject and partner first engaged in in the period of time between the first time teleporting together and being separated after the discovery of their powers.

Current Condition With the handsome amount of money Scientist Lee gave each pair, Seulgi was able to get a suite at a hotel where Jongin stayed. After deciding to settle down in London, Jongin finally allowed himself to properly grieve for Kyungsoo and Dani. He was so focused on comforting Seulgi that he didn't spare any time to consider his actions; now that he was able to relax in a comfortable environment, Jongin replayed what happened over and over again. Seulgi sympathised with the turmoil Jongin was experiencing [she was saddened by the loss of Kyungsoo and Dani, but being depressed and useless wasn't on the top of her agenda] and spent the first few days constantly at his side. Eventually, Jongin snapped and screamed at Seulgi; he was tired of her doting on him every second of the day, because he honestly just needed some space and time to think for himself. To some extent, she understood, but Jongin had never raised his voice at her or looked at her with unadultered rage, so she became defensive and and snarkily replied that maybe Jongin should get his priorities straight and focus on their survival instead of people who were far from saving. She completely ed out put him in his place by throwing out the fact that Kyungsoo and Dani were going to die anyways because of the distance between them, which made Jongin so mad he actually threw a vase at her, and almost got his target. He acuused Seulgi of being void of the capability to have any emotions when it didn't suit her benefit. And then [because, hello, DRAMA??] he tells Seulgi that he abandoned Kyungsoo for her, and that he would have happily switched places with Kyungsoo if he knew that he would be arguing with her. At that point, Seulgi was just done with Jongin and left the hotel; she spent the night sleeping in Hyde Park. That night was probably the worst night for Seulgi because her nightmares were so much more vivid and for once Jongin wasn't there to calm her down. She did some self-reflection and realised that Jongin did have a point; obviously, she had to be concerned about her and Jongin's welfare, but not to the extreme point where everyone else could die and she couldn't care less.

The next morning it had rained heavily while Seulgi returned to the hotel. Jongin had calmed down significantly overnight, and let a wet and shivering Seulgi inside the suite. They moved around the suite in silence, but once Seulgi had taken a bath and dried off, Jongin quickly enveloped her in a hug. They just stayed like that for awhile in silence until Seulgi swallowed her pride and apologised for being so uncaring about how the Dani-Kyungsoo situation had affected him. She also thanked him for caring enough to leave his bestfriend behind. Jongin understood that Seulgi had never quite been the same ever since being Changed and that she was learning to cope with her new life as well as to regain some of the old Seulgi, so he just hugs her a bit tighter and apologises for raising his voice at her and for saying that he would have gladly taken Kyungsoo's place once he remembered the devastated look on her face when he had said that the night before.

They take some time to return to the comfortable groove they once operated in, but after two or three weeks, everything is back to normal. Job hunts were done together, and they had become easier after Seulgi had mastered the English language [thanks to her eidetic memory and the piles of English books Jongin had helpfully purchased in a random bookstore]. They had been working together at the YMCA in Chelsea [Jongin as a lifeguard and Seulgi as an instructor]. Obviously, Seulgi wasn't about to settle for that, so she put out an add in the papers promoting her and Jongin as a duo that could get any job done. Jongin was a bit reluctant because he felt like that was too vague, but Seulgi put it forward anyways  and told him that it would only give them more options. Within a few days, Seulgi and Jongin received a call from an anonymous person. He wanted them to bring a package to Lima, Peru with a deadline of two days. Seulgi was on board for it; she collected details about the pick up and drop off locations and quickly dragged Jongin on board. Once the package had been collected [under a bridge in Hyde Park], Seulgi and Jongin transported to Lima and wandered around in search of the drop of point. Word quickly got around and all of a sudden Jongin and Seulgi found themselves to be mercenary transporters. They asked no unnecessary questions, which attratced some rather shady clients, but they never complained, they did the job quickly and well and they got paid handsomely. They had 3 rules when it comes to transporting. 1) never change the deal, 2) never ask for the name of clients or what they're transporting, 3) never open packages.

As for plans for the future, Seulgi and Jongin have decided that they shouldn't be careless; when they had first gotten their powers and used to teleport for hours at a time, the Institute would always find them and bring them back, so they reason that they could very well find them again. As such, they've decided on moving to different countries every 3 years. seulgi visits Joonmyun periodically to strategise, and in the back of her mind, she can't help but wonder what became of Kyungsoo. At her urging, Jongin makes monthly visits to Dani in America [but he refuses to go without Seulgi all the time]. Being around Dani makes Jongin uneasy, but Seulgi is always there to put a comforting hand on his shoulder. Seulgi herself sympathizes with Dani and tries to cheer her up, but the look of complete fear and determination to not fall apart that is always written on the younger woman's face makes Seulgi pity her, but she'd never show her pity before Dani's face. Both Jongin and Seulgi have similar views on Scientist Lee; he isn't to be completely distrusted, because he did help them to escape and he's caring for Dani well, but he shouldn't be treated as a part of the family, because he still refers to them as his 'creations' and views them as such, and plus he smells like croutons.

Bond During the Flu, there was a mutual understanding between Seulgi and Jongin. No matter the circumstance, they were to be by each other's side. Because the mission occured soon after being Changed, Seulgi's harshness and anger was at its peak. She was merciless when it came to attacking the Infected, which shocked Jongin because he could call from memory her warm smiles directed at everyone and the rare moments she directly cared for him while growing up in the Institute. Nevertheless, he seemed to always be hovering at her side protectively as she went on her warpath.

Post-Buncheon, Seulgi began to suffer from nightmares, which would wake she up and she'd be shrieking and thrashing about. Jongin was definitely worried about her, because he knew that woman back in Buncheon wasn't the Ahn Seulgi he knew. As such, he threw the pillow barrier between them off the bed and just hugged her and her hair until she was reduced to terrified shivers. This would happen at least twice a week, and every time he held her she'd always mutter 'How could they do this to us?' Going into this pairing thing, Jongin was unsure about how he should behave around seulgi because she had always been so mature and responsible while he was just one of the other reckless and loud younger boys whose cuts she'd treat and patch up and wash their damaged clothes so they wouldn't be scodled by the caretakers. He decided that everything will come naturally when the time was right, so he simply acted as a silent, but loving comforter to Seulgi.

When they were separated, Jongin would usually teleport first, and Seulgi would naturally follow. They would spend their time figuring out how to hone their powers, and together they figured out that teleportation works best when they are familair with the destination and can visualise it. As such, their travels varied in location, but what remained the same was the comfort Jongin gave to Seulgi. [The farthest they've been was to New Zealand while still 'confined' at the Institute].

Once they arrived at London, Seulgi could see the emotional strain on Jongin and couldn't help but to feel immensely guilty; he had matured a lot while tending to her emotional needs, and was constantly repressing his feelings aas a result. Therefore, when Seulgi would arrive back at the hotel after job hunting, she's always take Jongin into her arms silently and let him cry on her shoulder. Once they joined MI6 and their lifestyles changed totally to busy ones, Seulgi and Jongin don't have much of those emotional moments any more, but an outsider can tell by the way they unconciously lean into each other while speaking [to each other] or by the quiet, yet loving and concerned looks they give each other, that they both still care for the other greatly.

Seulgi and Jongin have engages in [this feels weird typing, but oh well] and they've used the increase in power to enhance their powers. Now they are able to warp space freely with their hands; for example, either could place their hand over a surface and manipulate the space there to create a portal. there's no guarantee where that portal may lead to, but it's a start.
MISCELLANEOUS
Primary Appearance Kiko Mizuhara
Secondary Appearance Nam Jihyun of 4minute

Notes This story is thebomb.com! I really wanted Seulgi to be a Reyna/Annabeth/Zia [characters from Rick Riordan's work]. Jongin is more or less Percy Jackson after he comes back from Tartarus. I said that Seulgi becomes fluent in English because she does have an interest to learn the language, she already had basic knowledge of it, plus she has eidetic memory, which would make it super easy for her to understand and master it

I re-wrote some things [mostly Current Condition] but I hope Seulgi doesn't seem to harsh.

Improvement plans – scene suggestions, ideas, etc.
— So a lot of the other applicants are saying that their couple has a hard time financially after relocating. That idea didnt seem to resonate with me because I think scientist Lee would have at least gave them enough cash to find their footing. After all, it would kinda be a waste of energy and lives to bust them out of the Institute only to die of starvation in some foreign country.

I would love it if Seulgi resolves to kill Kyungsoo herself in the event that his presence as the Hunter is made known to her. Just like, she knows that kyungsoo would be extra eager to kill jongin. And it'd be super cool if she threatens to kill Dani in order to stop Kyungsoo from killing everyone
