As soon as Hyukjae stepped out, the elevator’s door closed and the car began it’s ascend to the surface, leaving Hyukjae in a big room with dim lighting. Hyukjae observed his surrounding; noting the ridiculously high ceiling and four walls, heavily inscribed in spells. There was a glass window on one of the walls, situated quite high from the ground, almost near the ceiling.

Hyukjae realized that he was in an observation chamber, and true to his prediction, the light turned brighter and soon he heard a voice boomed from hidden transmitter.

“Lee Hyukaje. Please state your age and origin.” Hyukjae shrugged and put his hands in his jeans pocket.

“Age and origin.” The voice said again. Receiving no answer, it tried again. “What is your Scale and Affinity?” Hukjae only whistled louder.

“If you don’t tell us what we want to know, we will have to use strict method of questioning.” The voice threatened.

Hyukjae chuckled and raised one finger. “I only need this one finger to destroy this building. And believe me, if you don’t bring me to Donghae, I will.”

The voice spluttered for a moment, and when it returned, it was filled with indignation. “Nonsense! This building is fully reinforced and scribed with the best spells in the whole world. Even a nuclear bomb can’t damage this building.” It said haughtily.

“Really? Then why don’t you try to Read me? See if I’m lying.” With that, Hyukjae smirked and lower his Shield slightly. Even without a Reader, Hyukjae knew that his magic had soaked up the room. He can feel its tendrils spread out from his body and made their way toward every single spell inside the room. He still had a tight control over his magic, he only let it swept over the multitude of spells, caressing the edges of the hieroglyphs and runes and Sanskrit and signs and symbols etched down on the surface. He didn’t have to worry about those spells attacking him anymore, he had made them his.

And by the string of curses coming from the voice, it knew it too.

Hyukjae gathered his magic and drew it back into himself, raising his Shield up again. With a smile he looked at the glass window. “There’s nothing you can do to hurt me. So bring me to Donghae or bring him to me. Either way, I’m not leaving without him.”
