Description
Lying next to him, looking up at the twinkling lights suspended in the space above us, I felt the nostalgic feeling of nothingness and everything all at once.
"Do you see us being together always?" I asked.
He hesitated. His hand trailed up my stomach, passing my navel, and stopping between my ribs. He rested his warm palm against my skin, the feeling like a blaze against the cool night air.
"Angels and demons are meant only to meet in a brief passing of a moment," he replied. "That moment may last much longer than a mere second and become something much more than a brush of shoulders. But time has to move forward eventually."
