Prologue: One Summer Morning

A soft breeze of wind blows softly through the green grass. Decorating the baby blue sky are cotton candy-like clouds that lessen the heat from the strong rays of sunlight. Under the sky lies the string of houses on a street in a neighborhood. 

It was just a few hours after the sun rises from its sleep along with the animals and critters of the morning. However, among those noises, there are small sobs stemming from the side of a house. It is a boy.

A small, young boy. 

His small sobs are barely audible but full of emotion. His small hand is rubbing his eyes softly. His lungs are gasping for air. The small boy stands outside, a few meters away from the door. He's wearing his bunny-printed pajamas with one of his hands clutching a stuffed teddybear tightly against his chest.

Strings of curses escape from the house inside. A serious argument or rather --fight is being exchanged inside. 

Hoseok's tears continue to spill out of those teary eyes while softly murmuring, "Daddy. Mommy. Don't fight..."

It is painful. 

Unknowingly, Hoseok's cries caught his neighbor's attention. Next to his house, another little boy is staring at him through the glass window. His hands are pressed against the cold glass; eyes staring right at Hoseok. 

Taehyung tilts his head at Hoseok, wondering why he is crying. 

"Papa!" Taehyung calls out. 

"What is it TaeTae?" His father, Jongkook, walks over to his son who is standing next to the window.

"No crying," Taehyung points his finger to Hoseok, whose tears continue to stream down the cheeks.  "Help. No crying."

Jongkook smiles down at his son. Though the smaller's unable to form complete sentences, he is able to understand what Taehyung's trying to say. 

"Papa is going to ask what's happening. Does TaeTae want to go with me?" Jongkook asks in a gentle voice. 

 "Yes! Wait." Taehyung dashes off upstairs to his room before returning with a stuffed monkey in his arms. "I want to bring Hopie with me!" 

His father smiles softly before taking his son by the hand and leaves the house. They are only a few feet away from where Hoseok is. <
