Arriving at the company building, Kibum stepped out of the van with a bag of food that he had bought along the way. He waved goodbye to their manager, telling the hyung that he could go home seeing as it was already so late (or early) in the morning, and made his way up their usual practice room. Kibum was about to knock until he saw Jonghyun practicing the "Hallelujah” choreography. Wanting to see his hyung’s progress, because he had just started the routine yesterday, Kibum stayed outside the room, watching the older dance silently.

Jonghyun's eyes were locked on the mirror, and for the first time that night, he seemed to be doing everything right. The longer he danced, the more his eyes flashed and he could no longer hold back the smile that he kept it side. Grinning, he struck the final pose and began jumping around in victory.

Kibum couldn't help but laugh at his hyung's childish antics. To him, it was completely obvious that the older was starting to get really tired. Wanting to have his own bit of fun, Kibum decided to press his face up against the glass of the door in a scary expression. He waited until Jonghyun wasn't looking before slamming his hand into the door, curious to see what Jonghyun's reaction would be.

Jonghyun whipped his head around, eyes wide in surprise before releasing a very girlish, high pitched scream and falling on the ground. He crawled backwards quickly, breathing in quick pants. By this point Kibum was just dying of laughter outside. Yes, he did feel bad for scaring his hyung, but Jonghyun’s reaction was just priceless!

It was only when his back was fully against the wall that Jonghyun realized it wasn't some monster on the other side of the door wanting to murder him. He growled and stood up, shooting the cat eyed idol a nasty glare before walking over to stop the music. Kibum saw the look that Jonghyun gave him, and if it were any other day, Kibum was sure he'd be terrified. Keeping his cool, Kibum straightened up and waited outside until Jonghyun decided to let him in, hopefully not getting killed in the process.

As the room fell silent, Jonghyun stepped out of his sneakers and threw one out the door to inform Kibum that while he was angry, the younger was still welcome to come inside. He flopped on the couch with crossed arms and stared at the man with barely contained rage, though if Kibum looked close enough, he'd see the amused twitching at the corners of the dino's mouth that would reveal his hidden laughter.

Kibum entered the silent room quietly, starting to get unnerved at the other's expression. Carefully, he made his way over to the couch that the older was currently occupying and took a seat, not too far but not too close to Jonghyun either. Placing his personal bag on the floor, he picked up the other bag filled with food and sheepishly offered it to the puppy-like male, almost in a peace offering sort of way.

"I brought food...?" Kibum informed , shooting the other a cute look.

The older male visibly weakened at Kibum's adorable expression, though it might have come across as just wanting the food.

"What did you get?" He murmured, letting his eyes fixate on the bag. "And is there enough to share?"

He blinked and flicked his big brown eyes up to meet the feline ones of Kibum. With all his focus, Jonghyun actually hadn't managed to eat a single bite that day.

Kibum gave a half scoff in response.

“Of course there’s enough to share,” he stated.

He noticed the look that Jonghyun was giving the food and couldn't help but shake his head, knowing that his hunch was right. Slowly, Kibum unpacked all the food that he brought, and starting off with a small bit of chicken, he offered it to Jonghyun.

Jonghyun swallowed hard, just barely able to resist plowing into the food. Instead, he accepted it with his thanks, nibbling on it slowly as he watched his friend.

Kibum rolled his eyes in affection at the older.

"Dig in," he said, picking up a drink and taking a sip.

"I know you want to," he added with a bit of a laugh.

Shooting the younger a grateful look, Jonghyun ate freely, manners the last thing on his mind.

Kibum just shook his head in amusement, preferring to drink his beverage. He knew that Jonghyun was going to be hungry so had a bit to eat in the car beforehand. While he knew how important it was to Jonghyun to practice, Kibum couldn't help but get frustrated when the practice got in the way of the older's health, especially his eating habits.

"You might want to slow down a bit," Kibum commented after a while, a slight smirk on his lips.

Picking up a nearby drink, Kibum opened it before offering it to the older.

"Here, take a sip of this."

Jonghyun flushed heavily, swallowing what he had in his mouth before reaching for the drink.

"Thanks..." he said, accepting it and drinking slowly.

He had only just realized what a slob he must appear to be.

"S-sorry..." he apologized, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck, and gesturing to the almost-gone food.

Kibum just laughed at his hyung.

"It's alright," he said with a smile.

"Anyone would be hungry after eight hours of just practice without eating," he continued, giving Jonghyun a pointed look.

The other laughed a bit awkwardly.

"Y-yeah..good thing we don't know anyone like that, right?" he replied, shooting Kibum a sheepish smile while recapping the drink.

Kibum hummed in response, saying nothing else to humour the other. Foregoing eating for practice was a bad habit that Jonghyun had, and Kibum resolved to break it whenever he could.

Kibum sighed he leaned over towards the older, laying his head on the other's shoulder, suddenly feeling tired.

"This is actually kind of nice," Kibum murmured after a while of silence.

Jonghyun leaned against the back of the couch, blinking at the younger man.

"Yeah..it is."

His smile grew warmer.

"When was the last time we were alone like this, Bummie?"

Kibum thought about the question for a bit before frowning.

"Long enough that I can't even remember..." he answered.

Everyone had just been so busy these past few months that it was hard to ever get a moment of peace or silence. The two rarely would see each other, and whenever they did, the other members would be around as well so they never got time alone.

Jonghyun set his drink aside and took one of Kibum's hands in both of his.

"I've missed you..." He murmured, placing a kiss on the back of Kibum's hand and playing with the man's fingers in an affectionate gesture. He flicked his gaze up and smiled, entwining their fingers.

A slight blush made its way onto Kibum cheeks.

"I missed you too," Kibum replied, letting out a soft sigh.

He stared their entwined hands, a soft smile on his face.

"It's been way too long... I missed this more than I thought I would."

Jonghyun hummed in response, leaning forward to capture his boyfriend’s lips in a sweet kiss.

"Thanks for the unexpected visit."
