Whose face?

Two-Faced [Remastered]

The room was erupted with chatter; the laughter of men and women echoing off the walls of the tightly knit rooms.  As hands brushed, women smiled, men poured alcohol for awaiting glasses; the night was lively and the time was late.  Her bright red heels clanked against the hard wooden floor, her lip was set in a permanent pout as she approached the main counter, her arms crossed over her chest as she was greeted by a young man with a bright smile across his.  Her face twitched slightly as the boy spoke,

‘Why hello there Mrs. Hyorin, I see you are here for your annual appointment.  May I interest you in our newest host?  He’s a very handsome young man and needs a little love~’

Hyorin snorted as she placed her money down rather hard on the table, her eye brow rising when the young boy jumped.  She wasn’t in the mood for this nonsense; she came here for one person and one person only.

‘Does it look like I came here for a newbie boy?  I made an appointment for Minjun and Minjun who I will see.’

She hissed, the boy only bowing his head, accepting the money quickly before waving his hand in the direction of the hall way.

‘Y-You’ll find him in his usual room; but he may not be done with his most current client so please wait patiently outside the door.’

Hyorin merely rolled her eyes at the boy as she brushed off his words, swerving around him as she stalked quickly off towards the hallway she knew all too well.  The boy was insane if he thought she was going to ‘wait patiently’ outside his door as she approached the room; her eyes glancing down at the watch that clung to her wrist.  The time read 12:00pm on the dot, which meant that whoever this other woman was; her time was up and she would not stand to waste her money standing her while they dilly dallied in there.

Not even bothering to knock, she swung the door open to reveal velvet colored walls, a booth that extended all the way around room; the black leather shining bright.  A small little glass table stood perched in the middle of the room, a pair of nicely decorated feet perched atop it, along with a small bottle of what looked to be wine and two glasses both scarce with alcohol.

Only one of the two people in the room seemed surprised as the dark blonde female gasped and her head rose from the man’s shoulder as her eyes locked with Hyorin’s. The brunette scoffing at the scene; her wrist rising as she pointed to the watch.

‘Times up sister, you’re wasting my money spending these few extra minutes with him, and I’m sure as hell am not paying for that not get the out now.’

Hyorin hissed, the female narrowing her eyes as she glanced over to the man she had just been leaning against.  He wore a smile on his face as he gazed off towards Hyorin who was now crossing her arms yet again, her weight shifting to once side as he hip jutted out and her foot began to tap.

‘Are you really going to let this woman talk to me that way?  Why this is quite rude, barging in like that when I was not done!’

The woman exclaimed, reaching out for sympathy from the man.  He only shrugged though, her hand rising and the woman frowning.

‘I’m sorry, but that’s not my job.  And she is correct; it is now time for you to leave and you are wasting her money.  So I suggest you either leave or head towards the front and pay for her time.’

He replied, the woman scoffing with disgust as she stood with haste; her purse being snatched from the seat beside her as she turned her nose up into the air.

‘If this is how you treat paying guests then consider me to never request you again!’

She retorted while storming towards the exit, Minjun laughing lightly as he waved her good bye,

‘Please, I’m sure you will enjoy the newbie’s who will cling to your every will!’

He called, his hand resting against the back of the booth, his eyes meet Hyorin’s.  The woman made her way finally towards the table as the door clicked shut. Her arms dropped by her side as she sighed heavily, stopping directly in front of Minjun who smiled up at the woman, his bright white teeth showing as she huffed, flicking her stray hairs quickly.  She was pouting now as Minjun gestured her to come to him.

‘You’re hard liquor shall be delivered here soon.  I know how you despise wine~’

He cooed, allowing Hyorin to rest on his lap, her cheek lying against his shoulder; eyes closing.  She felt his hand against her thigh as his thumbs rubbed slow, gently circles against her bare skin.  It felt nice and she felt herself slowly relaxing as the door to the room squeaked open.  Not even the sound of a bottle and some glassed being placed carefully on the table disturbed her as she took in a deep breath and nuzzled herself closer to Minjun.

Moments passed before she finally broke the silence, she was not about to sit here when she had just spend money to sit here till closing in complete silence.  Though the warmth his body gave off did feel quite nice.

‘I wish my boyfriend could comfort me the way that you do Minjun.  I can’t stand it anymore!  He has gotten on my last nerve, I love the man to death but he pushes me around and acts like a complete !  Can you believe he thinks he has the right to ignore me because I wouldn’t sleep with him after HE kicked me out of the room!!’

Hyorin screeched, throwing her hands up in the air, quickly regretting it when she almost smacked Minjun in the face.  He ignored the swings though as he softly smiled, running a free hand through the girl’s hair, this wasn’t normal for a host like him.  But then again Minjun wasn’t a normal host, he was a rude inconsiderate jack to most customers, and would never dare to even think about touching them!  Save Hyorin of course, she became a special occasion since the moment she met the man.  His y attitude matching that of hers and it was like the pair clicked and the words friends couldn’t even begin to describe the two.

‘It’s nice to hear your iness so early in the night, I feared you had somehow become a little lenient when you only said two cuss words to that other young lady and didn’t try to drag her from the room.’

Minjun smirked, Hyorin smacking him across the chest as she sat up, narrowing her eyes at the smug look on the others face.  She shifted off his lap as she took the seat to the left of him.  She crossed one leg over the other as she slumped against the soft leather.  Minjun reached for the bottle of alcohol, pouring each cup about half way before offering it to Hyorin.

‘Oh shut it you prude, I am telling you my troubles and you just want to show your like normal!’

Hyorin groaned, downing her drink in one go; Minjun chuckling out loud.

‘And you think me to be otherwise?  Since when have I ever been kind when listening to your problems?’

Minjun laughed, taking a sip of his drink before setting it down on the table, wrapping his arm around the girl, pulling her close to him again.  Hyorin placed her glass on the seat next to her, leaning her head back so her eyes could rest on ceiling above.

‘See this is why I like you, you listen but you don’t care, and while I like an ear to listen to me, I don’t need someone telling me what to do. I have to solve my own problems.’

Hyorin stated, Minjun nodding his head while reaching for a remote control.  Pressing a button, the sound of soothing music filled the room; Hyorin finally relaxing a little as a small smile formed on her face.  She intertwined her fingers with Minjun’s now as she made herself more comfortable in his embrace, her eyes lowering from the ceiling to look at Minjun.  He seemed much more content than when she first walked in here.  That other woman must have been horrid!

‘So besides my horrifying life, I do have some good news I would like to tell you!’

She smiled, Minjun cocking an eyebrow, gesturing her to go on while taking another sip of his alcohol.  He was always slow in drinking; he wasn’t a fan of the hard liquor. He merely drank it for her pleasure.   Hyorin couldn’t help but laugh every time, and this time was no exception as she explained.

‘Well, apparently I have been invited to a very high end party.  They have asked me to sing for them and attend the party as an honored guest!’

She clasped two hands together; smiling from ear to ear, this was much better to talk about then her ugly boyfriend and Minjun seemed impressed as well.  It was hard to impress the man.  It was even harder to get him to do events outside of work.  But with a plus one on her roster and a boyfriend who didn’t deserve the high end prize, Minjun was the first man she could think of inviting to be with her.

‘But the thing is I have told them I will be bringing a plus one with me.’

She explained, frowning now as Minjun yawned while propping his foot up on his knee.

‘Oh, that should be a wonderful way to make up things with your boyfriend.  He’ll surely begin to be a much kinder man towards you with that being waved in front of his nose~’

Minjun giggled, obviously he was thinking of a dog with meat being waved in its face.  And that’s exactly how her boyfriend would act if she were to bring up the party to him.  IF, but she wasn’t going to, she had other plans in mind.

‘Fat chance I would bring that nasty man to a party such as this one.  I had a better idea in mind.’

She replied, squaring her shoulders as she tried to make it obvious she was about to ask him.  She was hoping he would catch on, but the man was either acting oblivious or was just plain oblivious.

‘Wonderful, who do you plan to take with you then? There are probably a slew of men waiting outside your door step ready to take the proposal.’

Minjun shrugged, taking his arm away from Hyorin so he could fix his cuffs.  Hyorin exhaled heavily.

‘Oh yes, but I do not find any of them attractive.  I had someone in mind, and I was going to pay him to come with me too.’

Hyorin spoke; side glancing at the man who had stopped for a moment, but continued working at his cuffs in mere seconds.

‘I hope you know that a e is probably not the best idea to bring to such a high end party, they like to make a mess of things.’

He replied, Hyorin’s eyes widening at the response, her reply quick,

‘Oh, Minjun you are a complete idiot!!  You know I am asking you to go to the party tomorrow night with me!  A e, seriously who do you think I am?!’

Minjun was laughing now as he straightened his sleeves out and stretched his arms,

‘But who wouldn’t want the company of a paid addict?’

Minjun asked, Hyorin eyeing him with disgust, her tongue sticking out childishly; she went to pour herself another drink, but was stopped when Minjun did it for her, that smug, stupid smile on his face as she crossed her arms and threw herself back on the booth seat.

‘All you had to do was say no.’

She whined, feeling a small pang of rejection settling in, Minjun carefully placing the glass in her hand.  She yet again downed it, no pause before slamming it on the table.

‘Now, I never said no.’

Minjun retorted, the smile gone from his face as he looked down at his wrist, the silver wash gleaming.  He slowly lowered his arm down to his wrist.  Hyorin huffed, but sat up straight, turning to Minjun.  Was he basically saying yes to her about tomorrow?  Her heart fluttered a little, the urge to smile being resisted; she placed a hand on Minjun’s thigh rubbing it slowly.

‘Are you saying that you will go with me tomorrow night?’

She asked as calmly as her heart would let her, she knew why it was pounding so hard, she just refused to acknowledge it. Minjun shifted, his shoulders shrugging, their eyes meeting.

‘I’ll even go for half off.’

He spoke, a more genuine smile forming on his lips; a hand being placed over Hyorin’s a small squeeze being given.  She doesn’t know how she kept her composure but she managed to snatch her hand away, hissing loudly.  She didn’t want that smile to vanish, but it did as she stood, her black mini dress being smoothed out,

‘You’re an Minjun, but none the less the rest of the money from today will be used as part of tomorrow night.  Be ready by seven when I get here.’

Hyorin explained, Minjun again looking down at his watch,

‘My dear Hyorin you do realize you have only been here for 20 minutes?’

He spoke, Hyorin turning to him and nodding her head.  Her heart hurt from pounding against her chest so hard.  It was a bit of a surprise still that he had said yes.  She was prepared for an hour long session as to why he should accept her invitation, but now here she was with a date for tomorrow and still time to spare.  It was awkward, but she could use the rest of the night to go shopping for her attire tomorrow.

‘I have a lot to do tonight, that’s why whatever is left over from today can count towards tomorrow.’

Hyorin responded, flipping her hair over her shoulder; heading towards the door she placed a hand on the knob.  Minjun pushed himself up off the seat, strolling over to her side; he placed a hand over hers as he squeezed it gently.

‘Don’t go around glaring at other men like you do me~  I fear that your pretty face will only get you so far and other men besides me will fear talking to you,’

Minjun grinned, Hyorin swatting away his hand with a sharp slap; a loud laughter filling the room as Hyorin threw open the door stomping out.  Why she found comfort in such a man as him was beyond her.  She hated that her heart was still feeling so much pressure and her stomach was still so full of butterflies as she left the host club and entered the crowded streets of Seoul.

--

He woke up to the loud ringing of what he could only guess was his phone.  His eyes squeezing tight as he groaned, not wanting to get up as he stuck a hand out from beneath the blankets he hid so well under.  A hand sliding around on the table till it bumped into exactly what he was looking for.  Pulling it quickly under with him, he glared through squinted eyes at the caller id.  He sighed when he read the name Junho; flipping the phone open he pressed it to his ear.

‘Hello?’

He spoke, trying not to yawn in the process; his brother hated when he answered the phone when he just woke up.

‘Minjun, are your still sleeping; I thought you were going to come to mine and Chansung’s get together?!’

Junho shouted rather loudly into the phone, Minjun pulling it away sighing with his eyes closed, he could be sleeping right now, but of course he had plans that he had forgotten about.  Rolling over onto his back he placed the phone back to his ear, trying not to sigh again, Junho still speaking but he managed to cut him off.

‘No, Junho I didn’t forget; I promise I’m in the middle of getting ready!  Just give me a few minutes and I’ll be there as soon as possible!’

Minjun explained, hearing Junho grumbling on the other end but gave him the okay.  His brother was so kind, but not kind enough sometimes; not like him honestly.  Someone was always telling him that he was to kind and too much of a pushover, but he didn’t think so…  He was pretty sure he knew when to say no!

‘I’ll see you when I get there Junho!  Okay give me 10 minutes top!’

Minjun exclaimed while smiling, hanging up the phone before Junho could say another word. He tossed his phone back onto the bed as a loud sigh escaped his lips and the blankets flew to the end of his bed. The chilly air grazed his skin as he shivered a little and finally crawled out of the bed; with his arms stretched up above his head he went straight for the closet.

-

‘Minjun, finally you are here!!’

Junho shouted as Minjun exited his car, his door being shut and car locked; he raised a hand to wave at his brother while he casually strolled over to the man.  It was rather crowded in the parking lot, too big of a crowd to be exact as he approached Junho’s side.  Junho reached out and grabbed Minjun by the wrist pulling him close to his side.  Junho knew he wasn’t a crowd person so it had to have been pretty special to get him into this mess.  Chansung greeted politely, bowing slightly while Minjun smiled and did the same.  Chansung was Junho’s boyfriend; the two had been together for years and they would probably be together for a lot more years considering the way the two stilled acted towards each other even after so many years.

‘Now Minjun, I know you hate crowds; but I had to invite you to this get together because I wanted you to meet a certain someone!  This is basically his welcoming party!’

Junho explained, Minjun frowning instantly; normally any time Junho put the words “I wanted you to meet a certain someone” it never meant anything good.  The last time…  Minjun felt a cold chill run up his spine as he pulled Junho close enough to him so he could whisper in his ear.

‘Junho…  This better not be you trying to set me up with some guy because I told you…’

Junho cut him off instantly, a finger being placed over Minjun’s lip, a smile forming on his own.  Minjun never liked that look, it was a double edge sword; Minjun swatted Junho’s hand quickly, opening his mouth to say something angrily,

‘Junho;’

A very heavily accented man interrupted, placing a hand of his brother’s shoulder.  Junho’s face brightened as a wide toothy smile grew and he turned to face a very tall, broad man who also wore the same smile.  His arms were wide open now as Junho entered the embrace; they both gave each other a rather tight hug before letting go.

‘Taecyeon; It’s been so long since I have seen you, I hardly recognize you!  What happened to the nerdy man I met in the states?!’

Junho asked jokingly pinching the man’s arm; Minjun was awe struck, he wasn’t sure what to say while looking at this tall, handsome man.  Normally the guys Junho knew were much older and normally very unattractive, but this man was beyond gorgeous and looked to be around his age.

‘Oh and this is my brother, Minjun.’

Junho spoke, waving his hand in Minjun’s direction, which he quickly shook away the shock; he smiled sheepishly offering a hand to shake.  Taecyeon took it gratefully still with his smile holding it a little too long as Minjun couldn’t help but blush and look away.  He finally managed to pull his hand away stepping closer to Junho.

‘So Taecyeon how is your new modeling job, Sounds a lot different than working to be a doctor?’

Junho asked, nudging Minjun out of amusement as the man jumped, glaring at Junho from the corner of his eyes; he was pushing buttons that didn’t need to be pushed.  Minjun could feel his heart pounding hard within’ his chest.

‘Well I could tell you everything right here or we could head out to our reservation you were so excited to tell me about over the phone and I can tell you everything there.’

Taecyeon laughed, Junho’s eyes widening as though he had forgotten; knowing his brother though, he was probably so caught up in all of this that he did.  Minjun sighed silently with relief; thankful for all the people that would be at the restaurant with him, he more than likely won’t be anywhere near Taecyeon.  He didn’t want to be.

‘Of course the welcome party; I can’t believe I got so caught up in this that I forgot!  Yes, let’s head that way now!’

Junho announced, waving his arms to gesture to everyone, the crowd shifting to move to their cars Minjun doing the same, but probably a bit faster than others.  He needed a moment alone before he had to encounter that feeling again.
