One loves the other's smile, the other loves his attention.

Pay Attention To Me!

Taekwoon’s smile was a rare beauty and a rewarding treat.

It was something that was only shown in moments of embarrassment, incredible joy, or just for those few that are close enough to the stoic boy to witness such a small gesture.

Something that people would do the most childish things to get him lift his perfect lips and make the most perfect smile . . .

. . . And his smile would never even reach his eyes. But it didn’t need to, because as small as it usually was, it was equivalent to a burning star; so radiant and so bright.

At least, that’s what Hyuk-Jae had always thought.

He was currently lying in bed on a late morning, curled into a ball of warm, thick blankets as he listened to the shower run in the bathroom down the hall, which his boyfriend currently occupied. It was a lazy day for the two idols as both their schedules were clear, giving them some time to actually rest and get close to one another.

Hyuk-Jae sighed. Today had gone well, even though the day wasn’t even over. He glanced over at his phone sitting on the bedside table; leaving his cocoon of warmth, he reached out and quickly grabbed it, checking the time. It was barely passed noon. They had no special plans; just staying indoors and cuddling, at least that’s what Hyuk-Jae had planned, but he didn’t expect the Quiet King Taekwoon to want to go out and do anything. Usually when they both had time off their busy schedules, they would just laze around or do other activities, but let’s not get into that shall we?

He heard the shower turn off and a soft smile formed on his face; his boyfriend was about to enter the room, most likely shirtless, too. Even though they had been dating well over a year now and being four years older than Taekwoon, Hyuk-Jae couldn’t help but act like a teenager when it came to his boyfriend’s body. “He has a body sculpted like a god’s from years of soccer and dancing, can you blame me?” he would at times tell those who had brought up his maturity when it came to his boyfriend. And he was right; VIXX’s Leo was very fit.

Hyuk-Jae’s thoughts were interrupted when a tall figure silently walked into the room, wearing tight-fitting dark jeans, and only tight-fitting dark jeans. He couldn’t help but smirk as his prediction came true. But apparently that’s what happens when you live with your significant other for over eight months.

Hyuk-Jae’s eyes traveled up Taekwoon’s well-sculpted chest, to his broad shoulders, past his full lips, and finally resting on his dark eyes, which were dancing in silent amusement.

A dark brow rose. “Something funny?” Taekwoon murmured.

The blond man smiled, “Not remotely.”

Taekwoon scoffed silently and turned, moving to place his dirty clothes in the basket that sat across the room. Hyuk-Jae pouted a bit, wishing that the dark-haired man would’ve at least played back a bit. But that was another rare and wonderful treat that Taekwoon gives . . . but only when he’s in the mood to be playful.

Hyuk-Jae lightly huffed and tucked his arm back in his bundle of warmth, only leaving his hand out to hold his phone while he scrolled through his Twitter feed. Apparently today wasn’t one of those days that Taekwoon wanted to be playful so he had to occupy himself somehow until his boyfriend decided to socialize with him. Which he doubted would be anytime soon; that’s just how Taekwoon’s personality was, and Hyuk-Jae accepted it.

The bed dipped on Hyuk-Jae’s right but he paid it no mind while he read a fan’s tweet; he couldn’t help but smile softly at how much his fans cared and supported Super Junior, and about his relationship with another idol. It wasn’t long after the chuckle left his lips that a shadow appeared to his left, a warm breath following suite, fanning across his cheeks and causing a shiver to run down his spine.

He glanced to his right, already knowing who was there. But before he could say anything, Taekwoon’s soft voice beat him to the punch: “What are you smiling at?”

Hyuk-Jae would be lying if he said he wasn’t a little surprised to find Taekwoon’s face so close to his. He’s been close with him before—countless times—but no matter how long they’ve been together, he still had that butterfly effect on him. As flustered as he was, he answered regardless. “Something a fan tweeted at me,” he replied almost breathlessly, a faint blush dusting his otherwise pale cheeks.

Taekwoon’s dark eyes flicked from the cell phone to Hyuk-Jae’s eyes before finally settling on the phone. The latter just assumed he was reading the fans’ tweets but when he muttered lowly something about how half the day was already gone, he realized he was just reading the time. The quiet boy sat back a bit and grabbed the phone out of his boyfriend’s hands, setting it on the bedside table.

Hyuk-Jae’s eyebrows drew together in aggravation. He wasn’t done reading the tweets his fans sent to him. He was about to speak up, asking him to please give the phone back when Taekwoon pulled on the cocoon of warmth, exposing the older male to the bitter coldness of their apartment. Hyuk-Jae hissed at the temperature and tried pulling the blankets back. After all, he was still only in his boxers, the rest of his pajamas were thrown elsewhere across the room from obvious reasons.

“Taekwoon! It’s cold—“ but he never got to finish his rant due to a dark-haired male laying beside him, wrapping his warm body around the older, complaining male’s. Hyuk-Jae was a bit shocked at his behavior; though Taekwoon was always a man of actions rather than a man of words. “Tae . . . Taekwoon,” he breathed out as Taekwoon pulled the warm blankets over their bodies.

“Mmhmm?” said boy hummed in response, snuggling his nose into the blonde’s neck. Said blond couldn’t help his darkening cheeks, his quickening heartbeat, or the small intake of breath when his significant other’s half clothed body pressed against his barely clothed one. He could’ve sworn that he heard the dark-haired male chuckle slightly at his reaction.

Hyuk-Jae cleared his muddy thoughts and moved away slightly, still a bit angry at getting his phone taken away. Taekwoon noticed this and tightened his grip, trying to keep his boyfriend as close to him as possible. Hyuk-Jae could feel his heart speed up even more.

Trying not to get distracted, the blond continued with what he wished to say: “I wasn’t done reading my fan’s messages. Can you—?”

“No,” Taekwoon grumbled out softly, his voice muffled due to his face being buried, but Hyuk-Jae heard him loud and clear.

“No?” he was taken aback.

“No,” he stated again with his soft voice, pulling his head up and starring into the dark eyes of his boyfriend.

Hyuk-Jae was going to retaliate but decided against it due to the hard look that was set into Taekwoon’s gaze. Like mentioned before, Taekwoon isn’t a man of many words, his actions speak for him. So the hard, wavering gaze that he was giving Hyuk-Jae told the blond everything he needed to know at that moment; Taekwoon’s hard, unblinking gaze said enough without speaking anything. How about a translation? Here:

Pay attention to me and leave the phone alone.

Hyuk-Jae couldn’t help the bright smile that passed across his lips. He bit his bottom lip in hopes of keeping his grin at bay, but it failed horribly. He may not be in a talking mood but Taekwoon was sure in a cuddling mood, and that’s just as good, if not better.

Taekwoon, however, was taken aback by his boyfriend’s sudden change of expression and pulled a face himself. Now, to most people, pulling faces means making a “ face” like VIXX’s leader N would make; though in “Taekwoon Terms”, pulling a face just means a small quirk of a brow and slight tightening of his lips. But Hyuk-Jae didn’t mind as he wrapped his arms around Taekwoon’s neck and nuzzled his nose against his collarbone, tangling their legs together as he closed any space between their bodies. Apparently the other didn’t feel like making a comment, but there was no surprise there, so he just tightened his grip and buried his nose in Hyuk-Jae’s blond hair and sighed in content, lightly kissing the top of the blonde’s head.

Taekwoon smiled his brilliant, rare smile as Hyuk-Jae’s breath fanned against his chest. This was all he wanted to do today: snuggle with the man he loved most, and just snuggling. Anyone who has ever been in love can tell you that cuddling is so much more intimate than anything you can do with a significant other. And that’s just how Taekwoon liked it.

Hyuk-Jae also sighed in content as he felt Taekwoon’s lips lightly touch the top of his head in an innocent kiss. He pulled the dark-haired boy closer against his body while said male began humming a soft tune with that beautifully soft voice of his. Hyuk-Jae may have wanted to talk a bit today, but he’s perfectly fine with cuddling the day away.

Today was supposed to be a lazy day, after all, so talking wasn’t always in the picture. Both Taekwoon and Hyuk-Jae were fine with cuddling for the rest of the day . . . or until Taekwoon grew hungry and goes to search for food.
