Story: Empty

Characters: Hyukjae, Donghae

Donghae stared at the piece of paper in his hands. The paper was crumpled and the words were fading, but it was still legible. His eyes searched the paper frantically, finally settling on five words. DIAGNOSIS: HODGKIN LYMPHOMA STAGE IV It was those words that made Hyukjae disappear, leaving Donghae alone in the house, their house. Donghae, unable to hide the pain and anger that had accumulated over the days, finally broke down. Clutching the paper in his hands, Donghae screamed and thrashed around the house, knocking over books on the shelves and banging the wall repeatedly until his hands were sore and red. With the anger out of his system, Donghae slid down the wall with his back against it, letting the hard cold floor calm his over-beating heart. Taking deep breaths, Donghae peeled open his tighly clenched fist, smoothing out the paper. Looking at the words again, tears streamed down his cheeks and onto the paper. Crying like a little kid who lost his mommy, Donghae curled up on the floor, waiting for the sleepiness to take over.....
