Foreword
For nearly a hundred years, war had torn the nation apart and had wreaked the empire of blood and steel, the souls of those lost in the battles still roaming among the battlefields that had not been touched since the last soldier’s decaying body had been thrown into a manhole and buried under meters of soil.
The instability of the royal family and its reckless attitude of favouring over power factions and fathering bastards and illegitimate children had totally messed up the rigid line of succession that had been fixed permanently by their ancestors nearly a thousand years before. The previous king before the war had erupted had married seven wives and had taken in nearly ten concubines, his legitimate children, illegitimate children and bastards hungry for power and inheritance of what was known as the most powerful chair in the land – The Throne.
Rebellion was sparked by those who felt that whoever had power was unfitted and that another ruler should instead be in his place and they had to pay that price in corpses and remains that dropped the nation’s population and had caused a widespread increase on those who had lived below the poverty line as a result.
Only a few families remain until today that have survived the catastrophes and the horrid experiences that the nearly hundred extinct families that have been wiped out completely due to suspicion by the common folk that they had been involved with the treacherous wellbeing they had treated them while in power and those surviving six still do have a strong grip of power, now that their former competitors are now gone.
Those times of peace are over as the main line of the royal family goes extinct and the empire crumbles to ashes as they wait and flip the coin to see who would win in this war of manipulation, betrayal and luck. May whoever survives the war wins.
