Chapter One

Woohyun woke up to the ear piercing alarm clock that won't stop ringing on his nightstand. He grabbed it and threw it away. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, instantly he knew today is not a great day and that he has to go to school. Monday. He hates Monday. He heave a sigh and lay back down again, clearly frustrated. Somehow, he wish he's 100 years of age, not having to do anything and just enjoy staying at home.

He he knew that he couldn't just stay in bed forever or he'll be late for school and will be sent to another detention afterschool. He's had enough of detentions. He got up and walks toward the bathroom. He took a quick shower and quickly get dressed. He grabbed his backpack and put on his vans. He walked out and saw people walking around the neighborhood, he groaned to himself.

I hate people. I want to stay inside.

He let out a mental cry for help and start walking, as he walk, he couldn't help but notice how the park is so crowded with children. He saw them running all over the place happily and then he recalled how he used to play in the park when he was younger. He chuckled to himself, remembering that he has a crush on this cute japanese girl when he was a lot younger. He still remember how she looks like, she has a black long hair, but she always has it in  two pigtails and her cheeks are always rosy, she has a big round hazel eyes and a cute little nose that he loves to peck. His phone suddenly rings loudly causing him to jump. 

"Hello?" 

"Woohyun, where are you? You're late again!" Shouted the person from the other line. He glanced at his wrist watch and realizes that he's 15 minutes late. Damn. He march through the crowd and bumped into some people but quickly apologize. If he didn't just stand there and look at the park, he would have been there on time or better, earlier. He's really sick of being late all the time and the teacher's scolding.

"Woohyun! Why are you always late?" The teacher asked him angrily, giving him a disappointed look. "You're a top student so maybe you should act like one." He clenched his fist, anger about to burst out but he kept it in. 

He muttered a 'sorry' and went to sit next to his friend. He heave a sigh and glare at his desk and a note caught his eyes. He pick it up and read it, "For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind." he smiled at the note and kept it in his pocket.

"What's that?" A voice came from behind. 

 Woohyun shook his head while smiling to himself like an idiot. What he couldn't believe is that there is someone who would stick this note onto his desk when the teacher is scolding him.

"It's definitely not nothing!" Myungsoo shouted from behind making the teacher glare at him.

The teacher gave Myungsoo a look and said, "Do you want an after school detention?" he shook his head and look back down at his notebook. "Then pay attention." His classmates laughs at him quietly and he can't believe they find it funny. 

Woohyun turn around and gave his best friend a playful grin and a thumb up. Myungsoo scowled and throw his eraser at Woohyun, making him chuckles lightly at how childish his best friend is. Woohyun sometimes wonder how Myungsoo could be so icy cold most of the times around others and how he could be so childish when he's with his best friends.

Woohyun sat there staring at nothing but the air as the teacher is explaining something and he doesn't care. In the corner of his eyes, he saw a girl who he's not familiar with taking down notes and funny he never notices her before, heck he even thought there's no one sitting next to him. He started scribbled down random words on his notebook and combined it together, with every words he wrote it turns to lyrics. he grinned from ear to ear at what he wrote, feeling like he just accomplished something great. 

The bell rang and he was so ready to get out of this classroom that he despise so much. Woohyun start walking off without Myungsoo and went to a coffee shop which is a bit far away from the campus but he didn't mind, he like it. 

He sat door on a table next to the window so he could enjoy the view of people walking along the sidewalk. He smiled and said, "One cup of dark coffee as usual." the waitress nodded her head and trailed off. 

He really enjoy staying in this cafe, it's small but cozy, just how he would want a cafe to be. Someone tapped his table and he looked away from the window to see what the person needed. 

"Can I sit here?" She said, smiling at him sheepishly. 

"Sure." He said and returned the smile. They didn't talk and it was quiet, but not awkward and Woohyun likes it. His dark coffee came and he start drinking it, enjoying the bitter taste and how good it smells. 

"Black as night, sweet as sin." She said and smiled.

He looked up and said, "Coffee has a way of waking my soul, much like drinking liquid heaven would." 

She got up and muttered a 'goodbye' before leaving the cafe leaving Woohyun alone confused at why she suddenly leave. He couldn't help but felt like he was empty and lonely, he didn't know why, he has always been here alone and never felt this way, not until she came. He took out his notebook and a pen and start writing his journal. 

08th April 2008

 I met a girl and she's beautiful, no more than beautiful, she's a goddess. I didn't get to know her name but I hope that one day we'll meet again and by then, I'll buy her a cup of dark coffee. I love how dark her eyes are, they're mysterious and she was so quiet, making me wanting to know more about. Having her next to me makes me feel complete for an unknown reason, I find it weird but I love it, almost. I know I don't like her yet but this is the start, the start of everything. There's hope in meeting her again, I know, she left me with that feeling.

This is my first time writing a story, I mean posting a chapter. Usually, I just write the foreword and stop, just like that. I didn't update, no chapters, just the foreword. I hope this is good, tell me if it's boring because I know it is, I find it boring too but I really hope you like it.
