Part 1

Sweetheart,Sweetheart (I thought I saw a light)

The sound of her sneaker’s soles slapping against the pavement is almost therapeutic to her. She’s not very fond of exercising, but the ending of a relationship that just kept dragging her down and the prospect of living in a whole different country felt so liberating she felt like running. And here she was, smelling the humid air while the chain-like feeling that had been her companion most of her life finally let go of her.

Taeyeon closes her eyes, breaths in deeper, and lets out a silly laugh. She opens her eyes a millisecond before she registers another jogger, completely distracted with the mp3 in her hands barreling into her direction. They bump on each other and Taeyeon lands painfully on her . Well she thinks as she rubs her dirty hands on her shorts that’ll teach me not to act like I’m a music video clip.

-Hey, you alright?- She looks up, and her breath hitches. Maybe she’s still pretending that she’s on a music video clip, otherwise she has no explanation for how the purple flowers and the green leaves and the light filtering through the trees adorn the face of this girl with piercing eyes and makes her look like a work of art.

Taeyeon shakily takes her hand and lets herself be pulled up.

-I was distracted with my mp3, sorry.- The girl sheepishly says, waving said gadget. Taeyeon spots a scratch on the device and instantly feels bad.

-I was distracted too, I’m sorry.- She gulps, fiddles with the hem of her running shorts and wills herself to say the next words. Making friends was never her forte.- Your mp3 is even scratched. I know it’s not a new phone but maybe-maybe I could buy you an iced tea?

She wriggles her hands behind her back as the other girl assesses her. Taeyeon starts regretting being bold, something she never was before in her life.

-Okay.- The shorter girl says while smiling, and feeling her guts start to unclench, Taeyeon returns it with one of her own.

- You’ll have to take me somewhere I can buy it though. I arrived at the city yesterday.

The other girl looks at her amusedly and lets out a laugh.

Taeyeon’s heart warms and she laughs along with the girl. She thinks life is weird – and sort of cheesy too – because they are surrounded by morning glories, and the girl’s tinkling laugh is a shining light in Taeyeon’s day.

And – God, how fitting – her name is Sunny.

//

Toronto is a beautiful city. Even though some say that its people tended to be almost as cold as the city itself, Taeyeon thinks that it’s either a lie or she only had been lucky enough to only find kind and polite people on her way.

Sunny is a prime example: Had been living in the city for good part of her life, she offers to help Taeyeon locate the campus of the University the girl is partaking in the exchange program; the girl is even kind enough to help Taeyeon move her belongings from the hotel room she slept overnight to her new dorm room. Taeyeon blushes and splutters, tries to make the girl give up on helping her, but Sunny only rolls her eyes and pushes Taeyeon’s forehead with her hand, and adjusts the duffel bag she has on her shoulder.

-It’s not like you have a truckload of luggage. And you’ll have to buy me more iced tea if I keep helping you anyway!- The girl wiggles her eyebrows and whispers “eyes on the prize” and Taeyeon can’t help but laugh at her.

Sunny takes the map Taeyeon bought and circles every cheap restaurant and supermarket in the area. She goes as far as taking the girl to the two nearest supermarkets where they buy all the junk food Sunny’s backpack and Taeyeon’s bag can carry.

-Ok, so this one we are at has the best prices for meat and bread and basically junk food. You’ll have to shop in that one –she takes the map from Taeyeon’s hand and manages to hold it in the hand she already has 3 bags of chips on, while pointing with the other. – if you want to buy vegetables, and milk and healthy food. You’ll have to go there some days before the beginning of the month though; otherwise you’ll only find bruised fruits.

Halfway into buying snacks to stash in her dorm room, Taeyeon makes the mistake of saying her arms hurt, and that a cart would be a save in that moment. Sunny’s eyes light up in a way that makes Taeyeon feel uneasy, and later she finds herself speeding on a cart through the aisles of the supermarket, while Sunny races in another. They are almost thrown out of the supermarket, but hearing Sunny’s tinkling laughter and having her stomach hurt from laughing too hard is worth it.

The remaining of the day they do the most mundane things: Sunny teaches Taeyeon how to catch the right buses, she tells which hours of the day the subway is less packed, which snack trailers she should avoid if she didn’t want to get food poisoning. There’s nothing special about the things they did through the day, but Taeyeon’s having such a blast that when they head back to her campus she feels disappointed. She takes her time handling all the grocery bags before she bids the shorter girl goodbye.

-I had a good day. Even when you almost got us thrown out of a supermarket. I don’t think I can thank you enough, I’d be lost without you.- Taeyeon bows gratefully, and Sunny only smiles. This particular smile of hers has a way of making Sunny look like she knows a secret nobody else is aware of and Taeyeon will only unravel the mysteries of this smile years later.

-You can keep buying me drinks, I’m not complaining or anything…- Taeyeon laughs at Sunny’s cheekiness, and shakes her head at the silliness.

-I doubt we’re going to find any cafes open this late.

-You can always buy me tomorrow. Or the day after.- Taeyeon is surprised – and pleased – at the suggestion of keeping contact. Sunny smiles that cryptic smile of hers again and Taeyeon quirks up the corners of in a half smirk.

-Okay.

-Okay.

//

-You took a break from college by going to another college?

Taeyeon sets her cup down on the table, making a face when she contemplates by this angle. -I…Well when you put it like this is does sounds dumb.

Sunny takes a sip of her iced coffee to hide her smile, and shakes her head.

-I’m just teasing you. I know how it feels like. There’s nothing wrong with the same old, but you need the different. A fresh breath of air to feel new again.

Taeyeon’s eyes glint and she nods vigorously. Sunny’s is either very good with people or her hidden superpower is to catch on Taeyeon’s thought process like it’s no big deal.

 -I’m glad I chose Canada though. My English isn’t very good, but I think I’ll settle faster than I thought. – Taeyeon says excitedly, and if Sunny’s company didn’t capture her entire attention she’d have time to mull over it, and realize that she probably can’t remember the last time she was excited over something.

Sunny’s eyes curve in a smile at the adorableness of her fellow shortie. Her smile makes Taeyeon’s brain short circuit, and she takes extra seconds to remember what she was going to say.

-I bet you adapted in about two days when you first came here.- She laughs awkwardly, hoping the brunette hasn’t notice her temporary brain dead moment.

-I didn’t move here at first though. – Taeyeon perks up and Sunny continues. – I came to California with two other friends when we were teens. Then I came here when I was 17.

-Oh. Why though? Uh, if you don’t mind me asking. I’m sorry that was so nosy, I- Sunny giggles interrupts her, and the brunette pats the black haired girl’s hand. She decides she likes a flustered Taeyeon best, and tries making it happen again.

-It’s okay. Well, I was tired of not being able to sleep at night with Jessica and Tiffany having loud nextdoor so…

Unfortunately for her, Taeyeon is just swallowing a sip of her iced tea when Sunny says that, and the girl is so caught off guard she splutters, coughs and tea sprays out of her nose.

Flustered is an understatement.

-Oh my God! Tae I’m sorry! I’m sorry!- Sunny gets up in a flash, a bunch of napkins in her hand and rushing over the other girl to help her clean up. Once she stops coughing, Sunny can distinguish the weird laugh coming off the black haired girl. She’s in the middle of patting Taeyeon’s cheek dry and she becomes completely confused with the older girl’s laughter. Taeyeon’s laugh starts to die down only to pick up again when she takes a glance at the confused expression the brunette is sporting. Sunny’s face morphs from confusion to amusement and she can help but laugh too. That weird laugh was contagious after all.

The entire café is looking at the two girls obnoxiously laughing at each other, but they never notice it.

//

Taeyeon fortunately was right when she presumed she’d adapt well, and even with the language barrier she managed to make friends. Sunny remains above the others though. Taeyeon spent a long time being uninterested in people in general, but her desire of knowing more and more about the girl takes Taeyeon back to her childhood, when she’d go to the beach with her family and she’d walk around the sand, collecting pretty seashells and storing them safely in her backpack.

Taeyeon learns that Sunny is too generous for her own good. She bends backwards to help people without pretense and purpose. She does it because Sunny is Sunny.

She also learns that she hates being called her birth-name – Soonkyu – and will probably hit you if you insist in calling her that. Taeyeon asks why one day, and she expects either a complex explanation or a traumatic story in which Sunny started disusing her name, but the brunette only scrunches up her nose, twists and says:

-Because it’s ugly.- Taeyeon blinks as she registers the answer. Sunny is truly one of a kind because Taeyeon has never met someone so simple yet so complex before.

She learns that despite being so delicate and feminine Sunny can also be a tomboy. She appears one day at Taeyeon’s door with Italian take-out in one hand, her 3DS and a case filled with games in the other, dressed in jeans, a baggy hoodie, boy’s sneakers and a snapback covering her head. Taeyeon is infuriated because the girl can pull off any look, and she has to control herself and not ask indignantly “how do you do that?”

She has a bunch of seashells in her hands, but she wants to collect more. Sunny is generous, but Taeyeon has yet to see her acknowledging a “thank-you” with a “you’re welcome”. She has witnessed the brunette answer her phone with a sweet, childish voice when the caller is her mother, but use a formal, detached tone when her father is in the other end of the line. Taeyeon wants to know why. She wants to know more. She wants to unravel Sunny.

//

In Sunny’s eyes, Taeyeon is transparent, even though she’s sure that most people in the girl’s life must think that trying to see through Taeyeon is almost as easy as trying to see through murky water. Sunny’s always been good at taking a good read at people, and she finds it both a blessing and a curse. The world has as much bad as it has good, and seeing the bad isn’t always easy to someone like Sunny.

Taeyeon is a crystal among pieces of charcoal though. A smudged one, and that’s what makes Sunny so curious about her. Sunny can read her easily, she can pick up the black haired girl’s traits like no other, but her motives are what intrigue Sunny.

Sunny notices that Taeyeon is extremely girly, even when at times she senses the other girl would rather be wearing any other kind of clothes. Sunny also reckons the girl is almost as much of a help giver as Sunny, but she won’t acknowledge it.

One day when Taeyeon sleeps over in her dorm, – they stayed up talking until late at night, and Sunny didn’t allow Taeyeon to walk back home alone, and Taeyeon in turn didn’t allow Sunny to walk her home and then walk back to her dorm by herself, so they settle on a sleep over – Sunny wakes up to the sound of singing, and Sunny isn’t sure if she’s really awake or if she’s still dreaming because the voice floating from her bathroom must be of an angel. That’s the only time she hears the girl singing. Taeyeon is majoring in music, and it doesn’t make any sense to Sunny.

Taeyeon’s reactions to Sunny’s every mention of her childhood friends Jessica and Tiffany intrigues the brunette. The girl seems to gain the curiosity of a 5 year-old, and every time the girls’ names come up, Sunny’s always expects questions. They vary from questions with underlined personal interest – “So…were you okay with them being…gay?” Sunny smiles reassuringly “of course I was! There’s nothing wrong with it!” – to outright curious ones – “They are already married?! At twenty-two?!” Sunny laughs out loud and shakes her head “Oh you just need to get to know them Tae. They were already married long before a piece of paper and a couple of rings officiated it!”.

Sunny has a clue of why Taeyeon’s is so curious about Jessica and Tiffany, but she’ll give it time.

//

They both learn each other’s sleeping habits first hand – they wish they’d find out about them only by mentions though.

-Hi! My name is Taeyeon Kim and I’m your exchange student from South Korea! Please take care of me!

Sunny blinks slightly disorientated from being woken up in the middle of the -crack of dawn.

-I’m passionate about singing and cooking!

-What the …-Sunny rubs her eyes, adjusting to the darkness and she glances down at Taeyeon sleeping – and talking – in the blow up mattress beside Sunny’s bed.

-Hey! Wake up!- Sunny nudges Taeyeon’s with her foot and the other girl yelps and wakes in a start.

-Yah! Soonkyu Lee! Do you have a death wish?- The black haired girl exclaims, fuming from being woken up. Sunny snorts dismissively.

-Stop talking in your sleep! I swear I’ll shove a sock in your mouth if you wake me up again!

Taeyeon bristles affronted by the accusation.

-If you didn’t make alien noises while falling asleep my brain wouldn’t feel the need to avenge me while I’m sleeping!

Sunny gasps, indignant at the offense.

-You didn’t!

It’s Taeyeon’s turn to snort dismissively and to cross her arms defiantly.

-I sure did!

Sunny lunges at Taeyeon and they only stop the wrestling match when there’s a loud bang in Sunny’s door and a husky voice yelling “Stop laughing like hyenas in the middle of the night! Some people like to sleep! Freaks!”

They giggle quietly at each other, and exhausted from the physical exertion, they both fall asleep on the uncomfortable, single blow up mattress.

//

When Taeyeon comes to the realization that she’s falling for Sunny, she’s more surprised with the occasion it dawns on her than with the discover itself. Then again, it was kind of obvious how she felt for the girl. A text from Sunny was enough to send Taeyeon in a frenzy that put any prepubescent girl with a crush to shame.

It’s a regular Wednesday afternoon, and Sunny is reading lazily in Taeyeon’s bed while the other girl is struggling to do her homework – Taeyeon is much better with English now, but she still has difficulties. Sunny always helps, but Taeyeon prefers to keep using help to a minimum, even though Sunny keeps giving her a dirty look after being denied. The brunette lets the other girl be; She understands that Taeyeon takes all the weight on her shoulders by herself. But Sunny knows when is Taeyeon’s breaking point, and when it’s time for her to step in.

The thing is: The current homework she has in hands is a History of Music II assignment, and there’s this specific question about Canada’s music history and Taeyeon can only do as much as guess. She looks over at Sunny to ask for help but stops short as she catches the girl picking at her nose casually. Sunny flicks it off of her finger without taking her eyes from her Business book, scrunches her face, huffs, and goes back to only moving her eyes back and forth.

If it was her sister Taeyeon would yell “YAH! Go cover your own room with your boogers!”. If it was her best friend Yuri, Taeyeon would probably mock her “Eww. I thought you’re too hot to pick your nose? Do hot girls fart too?” but it’s Sunny and Taeyeon laughs internally and fondly addresses Sunny in her head as that little slob and finds the way Sunny huffs endearing.

When Taeyeon catches on the fact that her heart is doing little somersaults over booger picking she lets out a loud Oh my God and thinks herself to be ridiculous. Sunny looks up from her book and arches a brow at Taeyeon. The black haired girl just waves her hand dismissively and Sunny arches the other brow. Really? Taeyeon just rolls her eyes and nods. Really.

//

Sunny is observant, but just as any regular human being she’s not privy of every fact going around her. Therefore she has her moments where the metaphorical light bulb above her head shines up and her brain goes “Ohhh!”.

Sunny never has one of these moments in regards her feelings for Taeyeon.

Standing in front of Taeyeon’s campus gates the first day they met, Sunny thought: I’m going to fall for this girl, aren’t I?

She knew from the start.

//

3 months in her stay in Canada and Taeyeon has yet to visit every postcard places Toronto has to offer. She and Sunny being both college students makes it hard to have the time and the money to visit everything they wish to visit. It’s the beginning of December and the snow only started to fall heavily and Sunny has the Friday off because of the snow on the streets. She decides to take Taeyeon to the planetarium, one of her favorites.

Inside, while watching the first part of the presentation, they go “Ooooohh!” and “Aaaaah!!” and “Wow!” just like little kids, and every single time they giggle at each other, amazed at the lights and the shifting planets.

During the break, Taeyeon shivers at the freezing temperature, and without warning, Sunny envelops her shoulders in a side hug, running her hand over the girl’s arm that it’s not protected from the cold by her body. She smiles at Taeyeon, and the black haired girl has to suppress the overwhelming desire to tilt her face just the right amount and kiss Sunny right there and then.

They pass a man selling planets and stars themed balloons twice on their way to buy a snack, and both times Sunny casts a glance at the balloons. Taeyeon pauses and goes back, tugging Sunny by the waist.

-Which one is the prettiest?

-Neptune.- Sunny answers without missing a beat, a Taeyeon smiles knowingly at how readily Sunny gave the answer.

It’s the last one and Taeyeon buys it for Sunny. The brunette is gaping like a fish as the taller girl tugs her wrist and delicately ties the balloon around it.

-I saw you looking at them twice.- Taeyeon suffices while comfortably snuggling back into Sunny’s side.

Sunny clears and looks ahead while putting her arm back around the black haired girl’s shoulders.- They are for kids.

Taeyeon rolls her eyes.- They’re on sale therefore they are for everyone who has money.- She answers smartly and Sunny only side-eyes her and smirks.

They go see the second part of the presentation and they are as amazed as they were before. Taeyeon particularly likes this part because it’s mostly stars and they are her favorites. It’s cliché, but the mystery behind the beauty stars have just leaves Taeyeon wondering. You can gaze at the sky above and not be sure if the star you’re looking at is dead or not. It still shines though, being there to listen to your wishes anyway.

She can’t help but think of Sunny, and Taeyeon thinks it’s only right that she has a star for a name. Taeyeon thinks Sunny would inevitably leave an impression in whomever’s life she’d enter, and she’d be felt even long after she’s gone. She wonders if Sunny knows that herself.

The brunette is enraptured by the stars. In this moment Sunny feels sympathy for the little bugs that die when flying straight into lamps; she feels like flying into the pretty lights too. At some point her balloon gets in the way of her star gazing and she’s brought back from the moment, realizing everyone else has moved on to the next presentation and they were left behind.

She looks over at the taller girl, ready to call her so they’d catch up to everyone else, but Sunny stops short at the sight of Taeyeon under the lights. Her dark eyes look like the sky itself reflecting the million stars, and she looks almost ethereal in the artificial lighting. Sunny feels her heart rumble and she can feel her heartbeat in every corner of her body.

Taeyeon blinks out of her reverie and looks back at Sunny. The intensity she’s been gazed at squeezes her chest and she stares back. The atmosphere changes violently and it feels like the air is too dense to be inhaled.

The need to be closer is so consuming that Taeyeon’s breath falters. Sunny makes a decision.

The little quake Taeyeon’s chest makes as it fails to breath regularly is the gunpowder and Sunny provides the spark. She crosses the space between them in 4 strides, takes Taeyeon’s face between her hands, doesn’t ask and doesn’t waver, and intently kisses her.

The thoughts running in Taeyeon’s head quiet down and her heart takes over. It beats painfully fast against her ribcage as she runs her hands to the nape of Sunny’s neck and secures the girl there. Sunny brings her impossibly closer and kisses her harder and Taeyeon scratches the back of the girl’s neck, understanding more than anyone else the need to feel closer. It’s real. It’s real.

Sunny sighs into the kiss, and it shifts. It slows down and the all-consuming burn turns into warmth and Taeyeon’s eyes almost water behind her closed lids at how her heart blooms.

Sunny feels too much. Desire, fear, love, contempt, frustration, everything, too much. She’s a control freak and Taeyeon makes her feel too much and she accepts it. This is it. Taeyeon is it and it’s too early to say, too early to know, but she knows and…

-Ow!- Sunny stops caressing Taeyeon’s hair and the kiss stops as well. She shifts her head back and away from Taeyeon’s and looks at the string of her balloon tangled in black tresses of hair. Sunny reaches and untangles it, but keeps her hands on the silky hair. She looks over at the dark eyes helplessly peering down at her, and she bites her bottom lip.

-Have you ever thought in wearing your hair short?- Taeyeon’s eyes widen like saucers and Sunny soon loses her façade and bursts out laughing, retreating both wrists – free of any tangled hair.

-Yah!- Taeyeon grabs her by her collar, and Sunny only laughs harder. The irate girl surprises her by kissing her again, and she’s left stunned when the girl pulls away. There’s a hint of shyness behind the triumphant smile Taeyeon gives her, but Sunny can only comply when the other girl tells her:

-Pick up your jaw Soonkyu Lee! Let’s go, there’s still stars to look at!

Sunny accepts the taller girl’s hand, and she doesn’t call Taeyeon on it but for the remaining of the day she only looks at Sunny.

//

- I hate that old guy and his wrinkled ! Ugh!- David, a classmate and friend of Sunny, exclaims while rubbing his blearing eyes.

- He’s just so conceited. He thinks his intake in business is the right one. Does he know that he’s supposed to be impartial during classes? God, I can’t handle him.- Sunny agrees, combing her hair out of her eyes with her fingers, mood as dark as the cloudy sky above.

- He needs to take the stick that’s up his before he goes to class, that’s what he needs.- Sarah, another classmate, says. Sunny huffs angrily.

- Also, he needs to stop keeping us in class long after it ends, I get so moody when I’m hungry, I think I’m going to punch the next per-

-Sunny!

Sunny’s tirade is cut short by someone calling her name. She turns her head and finds Taeyeon waiting at the university’s outside gates, one hand holding a plastic bag, the other waving shyly at her. The grin that spreads on Sunny’s face is enough to beat the gloomy clouds, and when she heads over Taeyeon she has a flourish in her step.

-Hey!- She greets in that private tone Taeyeon knows Sunny only uses for her, and leans in to give the girl a quick kiss. When she re-opens her eyes Taeyeon looks dumbstruck and the grin that blooms in her face rivals Sunny’s in size and brightness.

-Hey!- She says back and giggles uselessly, and if Sunny wasn’t feeling equally giddy she’d find amusing how Taeyeon is behaving. She reaches for Sunny’s hands and entwines their fingers and Sunny smiles and looks at her from under her lashes.

-What are you doing here? Not that I mind, your visit is probably the best thing that happened to my day.- Sunny swings their hands together and brings them to , kissing Taeyeon’s knuckles. The black-haired girl bumps her shoulder with Sunny’s at the brunette’s cheesiness, but she caresses the back of the shorter girl’s hand in return.

-You always complain about today’s professor and how you are always starving by the time you get out of class so I thought…I thought maybe it’d be okay if I made you lunch…and brought it to you.- Taeyeon sounds so earnest, and her intent is so sincere that something in Sunny’s chest swirls.

Sunny’s always doing something for someone, or taking care of things for people, and she does it deliberately without asking for anything in return, and she doesn’t resent them for it but sometimes she wishes that people could be a little more considerate. So having someone doing something for her, taking care of her without her asking for it, even if it’s as simple as preparing a meal makes her chest constrict with emotion.

-Of course it’s okay. – She reaches up and kisses Taeyeon again, to reassure her. Taeyeon lingers in the kiss, and she has the same dazed look in her face when they part. Sunny smiles fondly at it.

-Are you always going to look like you’re brain dead after we kiss?- Sunny teases. Taeyeon doesn’t take offense, quirking her brows and smirking at the brunette.

-If you keep doing that thing with your tongue, yes.

-Oh my God…- Sunny mutters, face heating up and eyes looking anywhere but at Taeyeon. The girl laughs that weird laugh of hers, and ducks away from Sunny’s pinching fingers.

-I’m heading back now, okay? See you la-

-Wait! Are you leaving? I thought I was going to eat lunch with my girlfriend!

They had their first just 3 days ago, and Taeyeon doesn’t want to assume anything. She was dying to ask Sunny to be hers, officially, but insecurities once again got the best of her.

Taeyeon at first looks dumbfounded, then grins like a little kid, and then laughs bashfully. Sunny takes her hand – partially amused, slightly weirded out – chuckles and tugs the girl along with her.

-You’re so weird.

-And you like me. Who’s weirder?

-Who ever said I liked you?

-YAH!

//

It’s funny how a change of scenario could so radically change everything else in someone’s life. A plane ticket and an ocean crossed later and Taeyeon finds herself living like she always wished to – or almost. She’ll get there eventually.

There’s not a single time when she talks on the phone with Yuri that her friend doesn’t make a comment about it.

The first time Yuri says it it’s a careful “You sound…different. I don’t know, maybe- maybe lighter?”. The next time Yuri jokes “Did I just hear you laugh? Not a snort or a sarcastic laugh? Aigoo Tete, what bug bit you?”. The following times her best friend just comments in a soft, grateful tone “You sound happy. You’re happy. I’m glad.”.

Taeyeon misses a lot of things from her homeland – Yuri being the one she misses the most – but she can’t deny it: she is happy.

Mornings are no longer about endless vocal warm-ups and irritating, continuous reminders that she’s the best and she should continue to work to stay the best. Mornings are waking up in either hers or Sunny’s tiny single bed, with both of them squeezed together in weird positions – Sunny once woke up with her nose nestled in Taeyeon’s armpit. She didn’t seem amused, but didn’t complain either and since it was a Sunday, she just resumed her position and went back to sleep.

College friends are no longer rivalries masked as fake friendships. College friends are friends, and they also are often little s who like making Taeyeon laugh too hard only about her weird laugh – and then make her laugh again.

Late afternoons don’t mean going against her will to her boyfriend’s house anymore, where she’d unwillingly give affection to someone she felt none. Afternoons mean lazily watching movies with her head resting in Sunny’s chest, fingers absentmindedly drawing patterns in the brunette’s shirt-covered stomach while the shorter girl scratches the older girl’s scalp in a way that makes her skin get goose bumps.

Taeyeon doesn’t want to taint any of it. She takes in the habit of rarely answering her parents’ calls. They’d spoil it, she knows for sure.

But then, there’s a day her mother calls her six times.

In the seventh, Sunny looks worriedly over at the cellphone, picks it up and s it timidly against her girlfriend’s stomach. – I think you should answer it.

Taeyeon quirks an eyebrow at Sunny, smiles at her and picks the gadget.

Taeyeon greets her mother, asks what happened. Her smile drops and from then on everything goes downhill.

OHNO. WHAT HAPPENED. I can see Taeyeon having to fly all the way back to Korea somehow cause of a family incident...

Anyway, that aside, man the floaty feeling, that happy little bug that dances around, i don't know... what a nice feeling your story gave heh ^^
It mimicked the song you recommended. That same feel. Perhaps cause i was listening to it while I read. Still, the same feel.
ahh, college love. such is the daydream.

but what happens next seem to speed up the progress of the story significantly.
