White Confession (하얀고백)

No one liked walking around the streets of Seoul in winter – more specifically, no one was particularly fond with the seemingly endless amounts of snow and frostbite. It had after all, forced citizens to cower under heaps of garments; a task too tedious to undertake when waking up in the wee hours of the morning. Iridescent rays from the sun occasionally shone through the snow-covered trees yet the powdered snow in combination with the mercilessly blowing frost made passersby feel as if they were living in the cores of the polar ice caps of Antarctica. In the afternoons, lanes filled with Hyundai taxis honking at other drivers and pedestrians all alike, screaming aggravated profanities as they try to drive through the streets that resembled a mass escape from an apocalypse. In short, Seoul was a busy a place prone to many instances of calamity and uproar. The night however, was the polar opposite.

On this night, the two boys closest among infinite had decided to stroll along the round of Seoul to take a break from their filled schedules promoting and practicing for the group's return to their World Tour. The snow fell at a much slower pace through the nights, the small flakes appearing to be floating gracefully downwards, accumulating onto the hairs of both the boys. The two strolled passing by the closing shops through an alley way they had taken in the past in their trainee days. Myungsoo smiled warmly, his eyes glimmering as the shine in his eyes became more illuminated as he in the memories of his surroundings. He smiled warmly, reminiscing as he in-took the familiar scenery around him.

Myungsoo sighed. “Do you remember back in our trainee days where we'd always stay up till' these hours and plot our runaway schemes?”

“or how we'd always sneak out at night and run to the park to get away from our managers.” Sungyeol chuckled. “I remember everything. It's not everyday we get to have experiences like the ones we've had before.”

Sungyeol looked up at the star-filled sky his smile growing wider to the point where you could see his gums. His soul jumped, and his heart beat erratically as he slowly realized how much time he and Myungsoo had spent together as friends. He stared at Myungsoo and in this moment, Sungyeol felt ecstatic to be reminiscing about his memories.

Myungsoo turned, his dark chocolate orbs meeting Sungyeol's. The two stood there in the middle of the pavement uncaring to the fact that eyes of the passing traffic stared at them. They stared at each other sharing a gentle gaze filled with passionately burning emotion. It was as if they were encased within an orb of emotions, their hearts beating as one and creating sparks of conductivity around them. Myungsoo smiled warmly as he intertwined his fingers with the other, his fingers slipping perfectly through the gaps of the latter's hands as if both were created for the other. Sungyeol's cheeks burned as his face flushed red; his blush was more than obvious enough for Myuungsoo to see.

“Are you sick or something? Your face seems a little red” Myungsoo said chuckling

Taken aback from his observation, Sungyeol panicked, covering his face in attempt to hide the fact that he looked like an overripe tomato.

“N-no! I'm just...just a little cold. That's all!” Sungyeol rejected incredulously.

“After all, you did rush me to get out of the house as quickly as possible. I didn't even get to put on a scarf!”

“Well then come here, you idiot” Myungsoo said as he pulled the other closer towards him unwrapping the scarf that was around himself and tying it around the latter.

“Is that good?”

“Y-yeah. T-thanks... I guess” Sungyeol said as he looked down at his feet embarrassed at his friend's actions

Myungsoo shook his head as he locked eyes with the other again, trapping him in his gaze.

“You don't have to thank me, Think of it as...me paying you back”

“Paying...me back?”

“Yeah, it was a night in our trainee days, just like this.” Myungsoo said in a matter-of-fact tone.

The day you held my hand that was frozen, not my body but my heart melted. It became...better”

Myungsoo leaned in closer towards Sungyeol', their faces coming closer as the gap between them lessened. The latter closed his eyes as he felt Myungsoo's lips brush against his; he leaned closer.

A-and at that moment...”

closer

“I knew...”

“That I loved you
