Taeil, Zico and you sat down at the table that you guys usually sit in the cafeteria. You can’t stop smiling to yourself,

“Hyung, Why is ______ so weird today! Look at her, she doesn’t stop smiling. I think she’s gone cuckoo.” Zico whispered to Taeil who was busy eating his sandwich. Zico couldn’t hold in the curiosity as it grows bigger,

“Yah, why can’t you stop smiling to yourself?” Zico asked,

“Huh?Mianheyo.” You replied, suddenly becoming serious.

“Hey, sharing is caring. Come one, tell me!!” Zico urged you to answer him, Taeil turned to look at you,

“Okay, well, next week my best friend, So Yeon is coming here! Yeah!!!” You said, happily.

“Tch…So, if So Yeon is your best friend, then we’re not your best friend?” Zico teased you,

“You guys are my best friend too!” You said, smiling.

          Since you were little, you had a tough time trying to make friends, that’s why you didn’t had many friends. Different from Taeil who was extremely good-looking, smart, and good at singing. Almost half of the girls in this school and even the teachers have a crush on Taeil, but Taeil kept it cool.

 He only likes to bully you and that was the main reason that you never really had any friends. Even so, you were still happy because you really really like Taeil. Your parents and his parents had tried to get you both married but it was objected by Taeil because for him, you’re just a sister.

KRIIIINGGG!!!

          The bell rang and you guys went back to class. But on your way there, you slipped down the floor and almost fell down the stairs. You were lucky that Taeil was fast enough to grab you by the waist and accidentally hugged you. You could smell his aftershave that smelled so fragrant. Your eyes met with his heavy gaze. That was the first time that you had been this close to him.

          Wow…It feel really nice to hug him.., you thought.

“______-ah, gwenchanayo? (Are you okay?)” Taeil asked, his eyes filled with concern.

          You snapped out of your daydream, but you were still in his arms.

“I think she sprained her ankle!” Zico exclaimed.

          Without another word, Taeil immediately slip his arms under your knees and carried you to the nurse office. You were shocked, you wondered if he could feel your heart racing like crazy. You can hear the gasp from the girls that passed by when they saw you, but it didn’t matter. You were in taeil’s arms, that matters.

“Okay, let me introduce you to my two best guy friends. This is Taeil and Zico.” You gestured at the two boys behind you as you spoke to So Yeon.

“Annyeonghaseyo, I’m So Yeon.”

“Annyeong, I’m Zico.” Zico replied instantly. Zico was always the Casanova, but you knew by heart that Zico is a sweet guy.

“Ehem! Zico…” You said, eyeing him and giving him the ‘not-her’ look. Zico understood and sat back down with a frown.

“I’m Taeil.” Taeil introduced himself as he and So Yeon shook hands. They look at each other for a second before Taeil lets go of her hand. It looks like So Yeon had fallen under the flower boy’s spell. You knew that everyone would have a crush on Taeil  after meeting him for the first time.

“Should I ask her? Eotteohke?!” Taeil mumbled to himself in his room.

          It had been a routine for you to always text Taeil every night.

You :Oppa, what do you want to eat, tomorrow?

Taeil: I don’t care, anything’s fine.

Y:Erm, Is Kimchi fried rice alright?

T: Okay!

Y: Don’t forget to bring PE clothes!

T:Gotcha!

Y:Ok. Goodnite!

T:Wait, are you busy? I wanna ask you something.

Y:No. So, what’s the mystery?

T: Err…can you give me So Yeon’s phone number?

          You were shocked when he asked that. Taeil never asked for a girls phone number and this was definitely the first. It never crossed your mind that Taeil would do that. Never! You felt angry. Hate. Disappointed. And heartbroken.

Y:May I know why?

T: I think I like her. Her face is always there on my mind and I had never had a strong feeling like this.

          You felt your heart smashed to pieces. You knew his intentions. It hurts you so bad.

“Why am I not So Yeon? Why?” It barely came out as a whisper.

          You sat there, frozen in your room. Hugging your pillow as your tears spill continuosly. No matter how many times you wiped your tears, it still flows down your cheeks freely.

Text to So Yeon and Taeil:

You: Meet me at the garden after school!See ya!

 

“Taeil oppa, why aren’t you going home yet?” So Yeon asked,

“______-ah told me that she wants to meet me.” Taeil answered, casually.

“Me too. What is it?” So Yeon said,

“I don’t know. I saw her earlier and she seems fine.” Taeil replied,

“Hmm…” So Yeon hummed to herself,

          You were hiding behind the bushes as you sent a text to Taeil, “Now is your chance!”

“I’ll call her first.” So Yeon said as she took out her phone,

“Wait,” Taeil called out,

“Huh?” So Yeon turned around,

“I think there’s no need to do that.” Taeil smiled at her,

“Why?” So Yeon whimpered,

“Actually, I…ah…”

“What? You look strange oppa,” So Yeon said, smiling.

“Can I be your boyfriend?” Taeil asked, taking So Yeon by surprise.

          So Yeon’s smile faded. She was surprised. Her eyes stayed on Taeil who was already blushing madly. You watch the scene before you plays, your feelings was unbearable. So Yeon flushed and you watch her as she nodded slowly. Well, there you go folks, a fresh new couple, you scoffed.

          That night, Taeil told everything about it to you about the confession. And you acted as if you were happy for him and all but the fact that you were crying so hard, did not says that you were happy at all.

          Since that day, you avoided them. With the news spreading like a wildfire, most of the students were envious of So Yeon. Day by day, So Yeon became more busy since she became the cheerleading capten.

Zico: Hyung, where’s _____?

Taeil: I think she’s in the library.

Z: No, she’s not there. I searched there already.

T:Really?

Z: You didn’t bring your lunch bag?

T:No.

Z: Hey, can I borrow your History notes?

T: I haven’t started writing it.

Z: What? But you were always the first one to finish it.

T: Why don’t you do it yourself.

Z: Oh right, where did you buy that present for your omma that day? My appa’s birthday is next week.

T:I didn’t remember..

Z: What?!! You bought it last week!

          That’s when Taeil realize that since he started dating So Yeon, he had been pushing you away. You hadn’t text him for a while, reminding him the things he should’ve bring, giving him his lunch, borrowing your notes, and forcing him to go shopping.

          Taeil felt like he betrayed you. Even if he was dating So Yeon, he had rarely bring her on dates, watch movies or talk on the phone. His relationship with So Yeon was nothing like a couple. Even if he hadn’t met So Yeon for a while, he never misses her. Instead, he was always thinking where you were. He thought you had other problems. He misses you all this time.

7:00 p.m.

          Taeil was pacing back and forth in front of your house. It was getting late but you weren’t home yet. Suddenly, he saw you with another guy. One hand holding your hand tightly as the other one gripped your waist. Both of you were talking, so you didn’t notice Taeil was there.

          Taeil was angry, he walked towards you and pushed the guy away from you.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” The guy asked Taeil,

“I’m the one who should be asking you that!” Taeil yelled,

“Take it easy, man. And hands off her!” The guy said, fueling Taeil’s anger

“What?!?!!” Taeil yelled as his fist collided with the guy’s face. The guy fell to the floor and yelped in pain.

“Oppa stop!” You begged Taeil to stop,

“You!” The guy yelled,

“Please stop, I‘m sorry, I really am sorry.”

Hey kid, you better watch it! I’m only stopping because your girlfriend told me to.” The guy said as he walks away.

          Taeil still wanted to beat the out of the guy, but he just realized that your feet was bleeding. After the guy left, you glared at Taeil. Taeil reached out to help you but push him away,

“Don’t touch me!” You said,

“______, I’m sorry. I didn’t know.” Taeil said, slowly

“That doesn’t mean that you can hit someone! What is wrong with you?!” You hissed at him.

“No, I thought he was…” Taeil trailed off,

“Can you not think dirty for a second!” You scolded him as you make your way to your house.

“I’m sorry, I was just worried about you..” Taeil’s voice lowered,

“No need. Get away from me.” You said, nonchalantly.

“______-ah…”

“Just shut up, Taeil!” You said, your back facing him.

“Hey, I’m really sorry okay. I care about you!” Taeil raised his voice.

“Oh please! Why do you even care for me? And don’t you dare tell me because I’m your sister, Taeil!”

“Because  I like you! That’s why!” Taeil yelled at you.

          Both of you stayed quiet for a while. You were shocked that Taeil liked you. In fact you were fangirling inside right now. Taeil took a step towards you and took your hand,

“I’m really sorry… Now I understand why I always share everything that makes me happy with you. Every time, you were always by my side. Maybe that’s why we’ve always been friends, so  I thought it was just how best friends suppose to feel. But no, every time I’m with So Yeon, all I can think about was you. I miss you, I can’t stop thinking of you. I want you to cook for me. I want to let you nag me. I want to let you drag me anywhere you want to go. I want you. I realize that I’ve liked you since the first time I met you. But then again, I ‘ve realized that I’ve fallen in love with my best friend. And that person has always been you.” Taeil said as you close the space between you and him.

          Your lips moved in sync ways as he on your bottom lip. When you finally pulled away, he pulled you into his embrace.

“I’ve always loved you, Taeil..” you whispered as you wrap your arms around him.
