Taehyung wakes with a start, springing out of bed and gasping into the silence of the night.  He looks around frantically, body drenched in sweat and heart threatening to beat right out of his chest.  The lingering traces of nightmare cling to the corners of his mind, he shakes his head trying to rattle the thoughts right out.  He doesn’t want to remember, the fear locked in his chest is enough for him to know he really doesn’t want to remember.

His panting is loud in the quiet of the dark room, too loud to even his own ears.  Pressing hand over his mouth he tries to calm his nerves that feel like unraveled ends of yawn.  His fingers shake as he bites into them, closing his eyes as dots create a frame around the edges of his vision.  Swimming through thoughts that have no sequence, events that are not a part of reality flash across the back of his eye lids before he throws them open and lurches forward, tripping over his backpack that he never remembers to push aside before bed.

Distracted for a moment by the moon light he shuffles closer to the window, ruffling the curtains he peers out into the night.  There’s not much out the window, buildings and streets, a few cars here and there.  There isn’t a single person out walking the street but he’d be more surprised if there was. Jimin rustles the covers in his sleep pulling Taehyung’s attention easily away from the window.  Fond smiling curling across his lips he blinks across the dark room, barely able to make out the other boy’s figure curled underneath his heavy comforter.

He moves across the room without a thought, pulling the covers back and slipping into Jimin’s bed as quietly as he can manage.  The boy makes a noise that’s somewhere between a whine and a groan, Taehyung freezes for a moment before sliding completely under the covers and peering at Jimin.  Jimin’s nose wiggles for a moment, phantom tickle across the boy’s skin disturbing him for a moment before he settles completely.  Taehyung moves closer, peering from beneath his fringe at the boy’s sleeping face.  Jimin’s face is even softer when he’s asleep, Taehyung doesn’t really know how it’s even possible for him to look even cuter like this.

Wiggling himself across the bed slowly Taehyung curls under Jimin’s arm, slipping beneath the warmth of the other boy because life is hard and the night is a little scary, but Jimin is warm and sweet and everything Taehyung wants to hold on to for as long as he’s allowed.  Jimin
