It was 6:15 pm. Another roll of tissue was emptied. She was alone in the dorm. The girls left for Japan this morning. She’s all alone and sick. She was glued to the bed. Her body feels so weak and heavy. She can’t stand up. Her body is freezing in this Christmas cold.

     Suddenly the main door opened. Her heart was racing. Didn’t the girls lock it? She tried to get up. It was dark outside her room. She saw the light from outside when the door opened and closed. She saw the shadow of the trespasser. It was a man.

     She covered herself in her comforter. Sweat trickled down her forehead. Is it a burglar? Or a ? Did they know that I was alone here? She brushed the thoughts off and concentrated on the footsteps. It was walking to their room.

     She closed her eyes and prayed. The switch of the lights sounded as the man pushed it. He is nearing. She felt his hand touch the comforter. Slowly, the man cleared it away to reveal her face. The strange man caressed her face.

     “Soonkyu, I’m sorry I’m late.” A cold deep voice echoed through her ears. Her eyes opened immediately.

     “Yah! Wu Fan! I hate you! You scared me!” she managed to scream at him.

     He chuckled. He cleared away her comforter and helped her get up. “I’m sorry. I thought you were sleeping. Have you eaten?”

     “Ani… Why are you here?”

     “I heard that you’re sick. Change clothes while I prepare something, okay?”

     “Okay!” she said and he left her.

     She put on a jacket over her t-shirt because it’s freezing. She went to the kitchen. Kris was preparing soup. She sat in the table as she waited for him to finish.

     “Wu Fan, you shouldn’t have come here. Aren’t you busy?” She said as he served the soup.

     “I’d rather come here than to kill my conscience forever. You are so sick. You must be working so hard.” He pinched her cheek. He sat next to her. He grabbed the spoon and fed her.

     “Kris, I can feed myself.” She said, trying to get the spoon.

     “Don’t be stubborn! Let me feed you.” He brushed her hand away and he blew another spoonful before letting her drink it. Sunny finished the soup through Kris’s feeding. After she ate, they went to the living room and watched a movie. They picked Pride and Prejudice.

     Sunny and Kris were friends when they were trainees, but only for a short time. When EXO debuted, they had the chance to become friends again. Sunny was really happy to have Kris as her friend. He is kind and very gentle. He would be there for her every time she was sick and no one would be there to take care of her.

     “I brought Ace.” He said, while taking him out.

     “Kyaaah! Let me play with my son!” Sunny squealed as soon as she saw Ace.

     Kris had to laugh at Sunny’s cuteness. He always adored how cute she can get. Sunny hugged Ace as if she hadn’t seen him for a very long time. Kris watched her play and cuddle Ace. She caressed Ace as they watched the movie.

     Kris watched her temperature every now and then while they were watching the movie. Since the movie is in English, sometimes Sunny would ask him about the things she didn’t understand. When the movie was finished, it was time for Sunny to go to bed.

     “Soonkyu, I have a present for you.” Kris said and he gave her a small box wrapped in pink with red ribbon fastened around it.

     “What’s this?” she asked.

     “Open it.” He said.

     “Later!” she beamed and set the gift on the coffee table.

     Sunny was tired and felt sleepy. Kris sat next to her and offered his lap for her. She took a nap on his lap while hugging Ace. Kris watched her and hummed a lullaby for her. He stayed awake the whole time. When it was ten minutes before Christmas, Kris decided to wake her up.

     “Soonkyu…” he shook her slightly. She was easily awakened. “It’s almost Christmas.”

     “Oh? Merry Christmas!” she hugged him as soon as she got into her mind.

     “Now, open your gift.” He said.

     She nodded and opened her gift. It was a ring. It was silver and the symbol of infinity was in it. Kris put the ring on her finger. Sunny’s heart leapt because of this. Does Kris like me too? It couldn’t possibly be. She just imagined that it was their wedding day while Kris inserted the ring in her finger.

     “Do you like it?”

     “Ne… It’s beautiful. Gomawo, Wu Fan! But, I don’t have a present for you.” She pouted.

     “It’s all right. I’m glad you like my present.” He pinched both of her cheeks.

     Kris checked her temperature once more before preparing to leave. While he was packing his things on the table, Sunny suddenly hugged him from behind. She was really thankful that he would be there to take care of her for this day.

     “Wu Fan, xie xie. Wo ai ni.” She mumbled.

     Kris turned around to face her. His heart skipped a beat at what he heard. Sunny spoke I love you in Chinese. It was music to his ears. But he brushed it off, thinking that she would never love him. He always thought that Sunny only sees him as a friend.

     “Mwo?” he asked, unbelievably.

     “Nothing!” she said and she let go of the hug.

     Kris continued packing his things. He sighed, hoping that he was not imagining things. The words that Sunny said echoed in his ears. They are the sweetest words that she had ever said without her aegyo. If only she knew how much I like her.

     “Wu Fan, gomawo…” Sunny said before hugging him.

     “Take care, okay? I don’t want you getting sick.” He ruffled her hair.

     They are by the door. He turned around to leave but Sunny got a hold of his hand. He turned around and looked at her. Her head was looking at the floor.

     “What’s wrong?” he asked while his hands on her shoulder. He bent down to meet with her eyes.

     “Kris, please stay.” She softly said.

      “Are you not feeling well?” Kris checked the temperature of her forehead. She was not quite hot. “You’re not really hot. Are you hungry? Do you feel dizzy?”

     “Ani…” she said. “It’s not like that.”

     “What is it?”

     “Kris, please stay with me… forever.”

     Kris was dumbfounded at her words. He swore he heard her right. Does she like me too? He looked at her straight in the eyes. It showed sincerity with a hint of nervousness. His heart was dancing wildly. Realizing that she likes him, he acted like he didn’t get what she said.

     “What?” he asked innocently.

     “I love you, Kris. Please stay with me forever.” She said louder and clearer, though she kept her head down.

     He smiled to himself at her cuteness. He pulled her in for a quick kiss. She was surprised. She looked at him and found him smiling to her.

     “I love you, too, Soonkyu.” He said. He intertwined his hands with hers before he leaned in for another kiss. This time, with more passion, and it lasted quite longer than expected. They pulled away for air. Both are still surprised by the sudden turn of events.

     “I love you, Soonkyu.” He repeated. “I will stay with you forever. Will you be my girlfriend?”

     “Oh, Wu Fan! Yes!” she exclaimed. They hugged each other. Both are happy that they are feeling the same way. They never imagined that their wish would come true. To be with each other forever.
