A Witch's Endearment
Baekho is a bit wary when he sees Ren in the kitchen. Ren is a decent cook, but he’s used to seeing everything boiled in these pans that weren’t edible.
“Yes?” Ren asks without turning around.
Baekho peeked overhead. He suspected and finally leans in, only to see the liquid that oddly resembled...soup.
“Not what you wanted?” Ren asks with a tugging smile, “if you want I could-”
“No, it’s fine. I should have thought so, doesn’t smell like your usual potions.” Baekho realizes.
Ren then spoons a bit of it and blows it to cool the food. He then outstretches it and holds it out. “Try it.”
Baekho backed away. Ren glared.
“Why must you think everything I do is about witchcraft?”
“I’m sorry, but I’m not usually not wrong.” And with their track record, Baekho really was never wrong.
Ren gives a long look until finally Baekho leans forward to give in when the doorbell rings, Baekho excuses himself to Ren’s chagrin. He was definitely going to get Baekho. He hears a distant thank you and sees Baekho lift some boxes to the dining room.
“My sister sent some things,” Baekho calls out.
Ren wipes his hands on the towel as he lets the soup simmer for a bit more, and leans forward at the opened boxes.
“Hmm, looks like-”
“Junk.”
Baekho smiled uneasily, he was right on that. “I think it’s stuff that was left in my old room. And hers.” He says as he sees a large poster of a boy band with hearts and lipstick stains.
“Oh, just admit you were a little fanboy.” Ren smirks and Baekho just stuffs the poster back into his box. Ren scours through the opposite one.
Baekho laughs at the item he finds.
“What is it?” Ren asks without looking back, squinting his eyes at an odd clock he’s found. He feels something on his head and looks up at the black over his head. And when he checks his reflection on the marble surface of his kitchen, he sees he’s wearing a tall witch’s hat.
“Ha, ha.” Ren says dryly, Baekho chuckles and reaches for his cell.
“Hold on.” Baekho says, and Ren pouts his lips as the photo’s taken. Baekho proceeds to make it his background.
“It isn’t halloween just yet,” Ren remarks.
“But you’re cute,” Baekho compliments with a grin, still editing the photo. Ren rounds his eyes and instantly contemplates an idea.
“How about now?”
And when Baekho looks up, he sees Ren now wearing a long black cape paired with a wand on hand, the hat slightly crooked on his head.
“Even more so,” Baekho admits and Ren tilts in head proudly at the praise, smiling from ear to ear.
