1. find a guy that fits your standard

What the hell am I doing here?   I’ve always told myself that everything I do should be backed up with a legitimate reason. The said action should also be attuned to my sworn principles and philosophies in life. Everything must be well-thought of. Risks can be taken; but they should be carefully analysed first and that the advantage should always outweigh the disadvantages. With a ratio of at least 80:20.    Hence, standing outside the Choi Corporation building fifteen minutes before lunch break is something I never imagined doing… until of course, Jung Yunho happened.    Jung Yunho happens all the time. But last night, he was in his utmost Jung Yunho potential.    Jung Yunho. With him our story starts.   Yunho or Yunnie is one of my better friends. Better… because calling him a good friend will be an insult and calling him best friend will make my other better friend, Tiffany Hwang, jealous. And I wouldn’t want to make Tiffany jealous, or make her feel any negative emotion, lest I want to suffer ferocious, pink-tainted wrath.   Yunnie works as a financial analyst at my dad’s company. He is four years older than me and was my brother’s best friend. Until of course, Siwon married Tiffany and, basically, lived under a skirt ever since. Suddenly finding himself one best friend short, Yunnie evolved into a much better form of a human by being my substitute older brother now that Siwon is on an indefinite hiatus.    Even before Siwon decided to bid single-blessedness goodbye, Yunnie has helped me get through tough situations plenty of times. This also explains why he is one of the first people I ran to when I heard about my father’s “all-encompassing and productive” future plans for me.   And by “all-encompassing and productive”, it means he had perfectly plotted not only my future but the future of his company, itself.   You see, last night, I heard my old man talk to my dearest mother about getting me married. Without my approval.   This sounds fun. I am twenty-three, at the prime of my youth and on the top of my career. I have the gold, the glitz, and the glamour. The only thing I’m missing is “the guy”. That’s how my mom has worded it. Well, not exactly. But I can still remember what she said.    “Jagi-yah, I’m worried about our little girl. She’s turning twenty-four in two weeks’ time but I’ve never even heard her talking about a man. At the rate that she is going, all work and no play, she’ll end up an old maid.”   Well, that’s not exactly how she said it but you get the gist.    And being the thoughtful and caring dad that he is, my father proposed off setting me up with Director Han.   Ah, Director Han. In case you’re wondering, he is a funny and jolly fellow. He has been working with my father since the dinosaur era and his family has close ties with mine up to 9279457974 generations up. He is also fifty-fricking-years old.   That’s over half my age. Which means, even before I had my first breath of oxygen in this world… he was already as old as I am now. He’s even probably applying for a senior citizen card or something back then I don’t give a yadda yadda blah blah my life.   Which brings me back to Yunnie.   After listening to his lengthy litany last night over the phone, here I am, walking into the building of my father’s company. A place I will someday take over once I’m done with my Doctorate degree. Something I can do so in less than two years, if and only if, I manage not to get married with Grampa Han.   He, Yunnie (not Director Han), specifically told me to be here a quarter before twelve for some “top secret business”.    To his credit, he welcomed me with his ever glorious smile, told his secretary not to disturb, and closed the door behind us. Good, because I don’t have spare time to waste. I still have ten plates waiting for me in the office and I have to finish all of them so that I can move on to a new project.   “What is this high-priority top secret business that you can’t tell it to me by phone and I have to bring myself here in front of you, Mr Important?”   “Relax, Soo. Here.” Yunnie placed a clear folder into the coffee table before seating himself comfortably on the couch. I sat right across him, picked up the thing, and opened it carefully.   “What is this?”   He smiled lazily before answering. “That, my precious, is the solution to your problem.”   The “solution to my probem” turned out to be four sheets of paper. The first one was blank except for a huge CONFIDENTIAL printed in bright, bold letters on the middle.   “Confidential?” I rolled my eyes and sniggered at his direction.   The second page bore a huge picture of myself. Above it was the word CLIENT and down below were my personal information.   “We only have two copies of those files. You will be keeping that as your guide and I have mine for back-up. Archiving purposes.” He said with a wink.   I was about to comment that he could have saved paper and help preserve trees had he given me a soft copy when my eyes landed on the third page. It looked like those profiles policemen keep when they’re hunting for criminals. Except that the ‘criminals’ in the pictures I see were people I know.   “First prospect, Shim Changmin. Age, twenty-five. Occupation, chief architect of his own private firm. Civil status, single. Connection to client, university classmate from first year to fifth year.” Yunnie narrated automatically as I read what was written on the page.   He crossed his legs and started massaging his temples as he rambled on.   “Second prospect, Lee Sungmin. Age, twenty-seven. Occupation, businessman and director of Lee Advertising Inc. Civil status, unmarried. Connection to client, grade school to high school schoolmate and close friend.”   “Third prospect, Lee Donghae. Age, twenty-seven. Occupation, civil engineer. Civil status, single. Connection to client, officemate for about a year now.”   I gaped at him disbelievingly as he ended his speech.   “What is this---how did you---when did you learn all these?” I cried.   “Last night. I’m not very busy so I decided to do a little r
