As the limousine idled in the sea of flashing lights and muffled voices, Mina Myoui sat in silence, her hands fidgeting nervously in her lap. Outside, the clamor of multiple camera shutters reverberated through the tinted windows, a relentless cacophony that served as a prelude to the whirlwind awaiting her just a few cars away on the red carpet.

She closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath to steady herself against the impending onslaught of questions and flashing lights. It wasn't the first time she had found herself in this position, nor would it likely be the last.

After all, she had spent more than two decades navigating the treacherous waters of Hollywood—a veteran in an industry that chewed up and spat out the weak without mercy.

But tonight was different. Tonight, there was a palpable sense of anticipation in the air, a whisper of possibility that lingered on the edges of her consciousness like a half-remembered dream. For tonight, Mina Myoui had been nominated once again for an Oscar—an accolade that had eluded her grasp time and time again, slipping through her fingers like grains of sand.

But perhaps, just perhaps, tonight would be different. Tonight, she dared to believe that the coveted golden statue might finally find its way into her outstretched hands, a tangible testament to the years of blood, sweat, and tears she had poured into her craft.

Breaking her out of her thoughts, Mina's assistant, Yeji, suddenly spoke up from the seat in front of her.

"Hey, Mina, we're up next," Yeji said, her voice laced with a hint of excitement. "Are you ready for this?"

Mina nodded, her expression a mix of nerves and determination. "As ready as I'll ever be," she replied, forcing a tight-lipped smile.

Yeji leaned forward, her eyes b with unwavering support. "Remember, no matter what happens out there, you're always a winner in my eyes," she said, her tone earnest.

Mina's lips softened into a grateful smile at Yeji's words. "Thank you, Yeji. I appreciate that."

Yeji reached out to squeeze Mina's hand gently. "And hey, after the awards show is the after party," she added, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. "So get ready to celebrate, no matter what the outcome."

Mina chuckled softly at Yeji's enthusiasm, a glimmer of anticipation sparking within her despite her nerves. "I'll do my best," she replied, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

Just then, Yeji hesitated before continuing, her expression taking on a more somber note. "Oh, and your mother called earlier," she said softly, her gaze flickering with understanding as she met Mina's eyes.

Mina's smile faltered slightly at the mention of her mother, a pang of guilt tugging at her heart. "I'll call her back later," she murmured, her voice tinged with regret.

But before she could dwell on the thought, Yeji shook her head gently. "Don't worry, Mina. I already told her you're going to be very busy tonight," she reassured, her tone firm. "She understands."

Mina felt a wave of gratitude wash over her at Yeji's words, a weight lifting from her shoulders. "Thank you, Yeji," she said softly, her voice filled with appreciation. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

Yeji smiled warmly, her eyes reflecting the unwavering loyalty she felt for her longtime friend and employer. "You'd still be the amazing Mina Myoui, superstar," she replied, her voice tinged with pride. "Now let's go out there and show them what you're made of."

The limousine came to a graceful stop in front of the red carpet, Mina felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through her veins. With a final nod of determination to her loyal assistant, she rose from her seat, her heart pounding in anticipation.

The door swung open with a soft hiss, revealing the dazzling spectacle that awaited her outside. Stepping out into the crisp night air, Mina was immediately enveloped in a whirlwind of activity and excitement.

Her black backless dress clung to her curves like a second skin, the sleek fabric draping elegantly over her frame. The plunging neckline hinted at a hint of allure, while the intricate lace detailing added a touch of sophistication to the ensemble.

With each step she took, Mina felt a surge of confidence swell within her—a quiet determination burning in her eyes as she made her way down the crimson carpet. Flashbulbs exploded around her like fireworks, the deafening roar of the crowd fading into the background as she focused on the task at hand.

Tonight was her night, she reminded herself, her chin held high as she strutted with poise and grace. And as she reached the end of the red carpet, bathed in the warm glow of the spotlight, Mina Myoui knew that she was ready to take on whatever the evening had in store.

🌠🌠🌠

As the lights dimmed and the buzz in the air reached a fever pitch, Mina stood there, nerves jangling like a live wire. The Oscars stage stretched out before her, a glitzy backdrop to her moment of truth. She'd been grinding in this industry for what felt like eons, racking up awards left and right, but this one?

This was the biggie. The one that would cement her status in Hollywood and beyond.

The crowd's whispers swirled around her, but Mina was in her own little bubble, eyes fixed on that iconic golden statue. This was her moment to shine, to bask in the recognition of decades of blood, sweat, and tears poured into every role she'd ever tackled.

Memories flooded her mind like a highlight reel—auditions that nearly broke her, setbacks that made her question everything, and victories that made it all worthwhile. Tonight wasn't just about the characters she'd brought to life; it was about her—Mina Myoui, the artist, the force to be reckoned with, the woman who'd fought tooth and nail to make it here.

When the presenter finally cracked open that envelope, Mina's heart nearly leaped out of her chest. And then came the magic words: "And the Oscar for Best Actress goes to...

Mina Myoui!"

The room exploded with applause, a tidal wave of cheers crashing over her. Tears welled up in Mina's eyes as she made her way to the stage, the weight of that little gold guy in her hands feeling like a victory lap for every struggle she'd faced.

As the audience erupted into thunderous applause, Mina took a deep breath, steadying herself for the walk of a lifetime. With every step towards the stage, her heart pounded against her chest, the weight of the moment threatening to overwhelm her. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes, but she blinked them back, determined to maintain her composure.

Reaching the podium, Mina gripped the sides tightly, her knuckles turning white with the intensity of her emotions. She glanced out at the sea of faces before her, a kaleidoscope of emotions reflected back at her—pride, admiration, awe.

Taking a moment to collect herself, Mina finally spoke, her voice trembling with emotion but resolute in its strength. "Wow," she began, a tremulous smile gracing her lips. "I am truly speechless. To be standing here, in front of all of you, holding this incredible honor—it's beyond anything I could have ever imagined."

The crowd's applause swelled anew, a chorus of affirmation ringing in Mina's ears. She took a deep breath, her eyes glistening with unshed tears as she continued. "I want to take a moment to thank each and every person who has been a part of my journey over the past two decades. From my agents and managers to the incredible directors, writers, and fellow actors I've had the privilege of working with—thank you for believing in me, for pushing me to be the best version of myself, for challenging me to reach new heights."

Mina's voice wavered slightly as she paused, her gaze drifting to the gleaming Oscar in her hands. "And to my fans, my supporters, my friends, and my family—thank you for standing by me through it all. Your love and encouragement have been my guiding light, my source of strength, my reason to keep going even when the road seemed darkest."

A soft murmur of appreciation rippled through the audience, a testament to the impact Mina had made on so many lives throughout her illustrious career. She took a deep breath, her resolve solidifying with each passing moment.

A tear slipped down Mina's cheek as she glanced down at the Oscar, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. "And as I stand here on my 40th birthday, I can't think of a better gift than this—the recognition of a lifetime of hard work, dedication, and passion. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making this the most unforgettable birthday of my life."

With those final words, Mina raised the Oscar high above her head, the crowd erupting into cheers once more. And as she basked in the glow of their adulation, she knew that this moment would be etched in her memory forever—a testament to the power of perseverance, the beauty of dreams realized, and the enduring magic of cinema.

🌠🌠🌠

The pulsating rhythms of the after-party enveloped Mina as she made her grand entrance, the thrum of excitement palpable in the air. A kaleidoscope of colors and lights danced around her, the decadent splendor of the venue a testament to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

With a gracious smile, Mina navigated through the sea of well-wishers and fellow luminaries, her eyes sparkling with a mixture of euphoria and disbelief. It was surreal, being here among the elite of the industry, her name whispered in hushed tones of reverence and admiration.

But amidst the whirlwind of festivities, there was one task that beckoned to her—a promise she had made to herself long before the night had begun. Making her way to a secluded corner of the venue, Mina located the engraving station, her heart racing with anticipation.

Handing over the golden statue with trembling hands, Mina watched as the skilled craftsman set to work, delicately etching her name onto the hallowed surface. It was a moment of quiet reflection, a chance to savor the magnitude of her achievement, the culmination of years of tireless dedication and unwavering passion.

Leaning against the bar, Mina couldn't help but smile to herself, a sense of contentment washing over her like a warm embrace. She pinched herself lightly, half-expecting to wake up from this surreal dream, but the reality of the moment was undeniable—she was wide awake, and this was her moment to shine.

As she gazed upon the gleaming Oscar, now proudly emblazoned with her name, Mina felt a surge of pride swell within her. This was more than just a trophy; it was a symbol of her legacy, a testament to her indomitable spirit, a reminder that dreams, no matter how lofty, were always within reach.

As Mina accepted the Oscar from the staff, she cradled the golden statue in her hands, her fingertips tracing the intricate contours with a mixture of awe and reverence. It was supposed to be a moment of unparalleled triumph, the culmination of her lifelong pursuit of excellence…

And yet, as she held the coveted award, a strange emptiness settled over her, casting a shadow over the glimmering surface.

Lost in her thoughts, Mina's gaze lingered on the engraved name, her mind a tumult of conflicting emotions. Pride, joy, gratitude—all should have flooded her being, but instead, there was a void, a hollow ache she couldn't quite shake.

The weight of the statue in her hands felt heavier than she had imagined, its significance suddenly elusive, its promise unfulfilled.

Just as she was about to delve deeper into the feeling stirring within her chest, a hand gently settled on her shoulder, breaking her out of her reverie. Startled, Mina whipped her head around to find herself face to face with Jihyo Park, a longtime friend and esteemed colleague in the industry.

A warm smile spread across Jihyo's face as she enveloped Mina in a congratulatory hug, their bond palpable in the tight embrace. Mina reciprocated, drawing comfort from the familiar touch of friendship amidst the whirlwind of emotions.

"Thank you, Jihyo," Mina responded, her voice laced with genuine appreciation. "It truly feels surreal."

Jihyo's laughter rang out, a melodic symphony of joy and camaraderie. "I can imagine! You're officially part of the 'It Club' now, superstar," she playfully remarked, punctuating her words with exaggerated air quotes.

Mina chuckled, her attempt to mirror Jihyo's infectious enthusiasm falling just short.

"It's definitely a moment to remember," she agreed, though a hint of unease lingered beneath her words, masked by a forced smile.

As Jihyo pulled away from their embrace, her perceptive gaze met Mina's, a flicker of concern shadowing her eyes. "Are you okay, Mina?" she asked softly, her tone filled with genuine care.

Mina hesitated for a moment, caught off guard by Jihyo's astuteness. She quickly composed herself, offering a reassuring smile. "Oh, I'm fine," she replied, though her voice lacked the usual buoyancy. "I think I'm just a bit overwhelmed by everything, you know? It's all starting to sink in now."

Jihyo nodded understandingly, though the furrow in her brow betrayed her lingering worry. "I get it," she said, her tone gentle. "It's a lot to take in, especially after such a big win. Just know that I'm here for you if you need anything, okay?"

Mina's heart warmed at Jihyo's genuine concern, a pang of guilt tugging at her conscience for not being completely forthcoming. "Thank you, Jihyo," she murmured, touched by her friend's unwavering support. "I really appreciate it. And don't worry, I'll be alright. It's just going to take some time to process everything."

Their conversation was abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of an interviewer and a cameraman, their equipment poised and ready to capture every word.

"Excuse me, Mina!" the interviewer called out eagerly, maneuvering through the crowd to reach her. "Could we get a moment of you

Chapter 2: That was an interesting read. I'm intrigued now. I'm curious of Mina's life in this new reality and how she's gonna navigate through it coz it doesn't seem like she's gonna return to her reality anytime soon. Most of all, it looks like she's been given a chance to experience all her what-ifs in this alternate reality. I do wonder how this would impact her life and affect her decisions once she goes back.
