Circus of Words: A Writing Contest — open & accepting entries!The Circus have finally made a Judging Rubric for its beloved Performers and their magnificent Acts. This should help the contestants maneuver within their chosen challenges to ensure they come up with the perfect winning formula.
Performance Quality – 50/50At 50% of the final score, this rubric pertains to the full package of the entry, from the Title, Plot and Storyline, Theme and Cast, up to the appearance of the story (book cover [although not required, having one is still greatly appreciated], layout, and format).
Level of Difficulty – 25/25This criteria pertains to how well the chosen act, themes, and challenges have been executed and implemented within the story.
Creativity and Skill – 25/25This rubric is all about the technique and writing style of the author, as well the overall message of the entry, ie. the story's ability to subvert tropes and genres and/or the author's personal and unique interpretation of the elements and themes within their story.
All in all, this should add up to 100 points in total.
Bonus PointsBonus Points do not affect the overall final judging grade, but it helps raise the average score of one's entry. This is a free point given by the Show Host to stories that went out of their way to include the Host's personal reading preferences. The points amount to another 100 points if the entry includes all of the following, which, again, although not entirely required, is still
