Opening up
OutcastThe red-haired athlete sat in front of the journalist on the balcony.
They had finished breakfast and she was also done with the massage.
Adjusting her glasses, the older one cut to the chase:
__I'd like you to tell me about doping. Please be honest. i want to help you clean your image but lies will be useless.
Smiling, the charming soccer player declared:
__ You've already decided that I'm guilty. Why should I bother to explain anything?
__ I told you. I want to help.
__ So throw your prejudgment away and open your ears.
__ Alright. I'm listening. __The brunette rested her hands on her lap.
Not so sure if she could really trust the older woman, the red-haired chose her words carefully:
__ It's been 8 years since I drank alcohol for the last time. Sugar is cut from my diet since I was 18. I basically take care of every detail about what crosses my throat. During my 10 years as an athlete, this is my first serious injury. Before that, I suffered a car accident and had a broken arm. Not even then, I consumed painkillers. Taking blood and urine tests was part of my routine. I didn't just do it if my name was randomly picked during an event.
__ But results can be easily forged by those who have money. Like you do.
__ Are you implying that I would fake exams for 8 years? I can give you access to my hospital records and you should investigate all the doctors who have worked with me. Or at least the big names.__ Moonbyul sounded offended.
__ I'm not attacking you, Ms. Moon. But you must admit that have been cases like this. I can't simply take your word as universal truth. I'll certainly investigate the doctors. This might lead nowhere though. It makes no sense that the Soccer Federation would let you be suspended or banished without a reason. Or without proper proof. You are a gold mine.__ The journalist argued.
__ Who said there isn't a reason?
__ Now you are contradicting yourself.__ Yongsun exhaled.
Shaking her head passionately, the charming athlete replied:
__ Of course not! I'm saying the real reason for my invitation to leave the national team has nothing to do with doping. I don't do any type of drugs.
__ And what reason is it then?
Looking away, the red-haired admired the view of the mountains.
After a long silence, the younger one said:
__ It's pointless that I say it. You'll either doubt me or think it's something insignificant.
__ Please, stop trying to analyze or predict my actions. I came over here. So I'm taking this seriously.__ Yongsun spoke firmly.
__ Okay. So I'll tell you. They set me up because of my ual orientation.
