To say that Karina woke up on the wrong side of the bed is underrated.

 

This guy, Yeonjun has been constantly bugging flirting with her through dms and she does not appreciate his comments one bit.

 

For all she knows, Yeonjun is dating Winter.

 

Winter, Karina scoffed at the name suddenly invading her mind.

 

"Why are you so annoyed, Ri? It's affecting my mood too," Yizhuo not having the patience to deal with Karina's mood this early in the morning.

 

Karina's eyes rolled, "It's her boyfriend again, why is she letting him be? It's annoying!"

 

Yizhuo growled, "Just message her!" She suggested before taking her now empty plate from the table.

 

She couldn't help but sighed because the younger definitely had a point.

 

Without letting another second pass, she took her phone and looked for Winter's account.

Hi, can you ask your boyfriend to stop hitting on me?

That was fast, she thought.

 

Karina felt relieved after letting her thoughts out.

 

But why is Winter taking too long to reply?

 

Is she having a fight with her boyfriend now?

 

What if they're arguing right now?

 

What if they suddenly break up because of her?

 

He doesn't deserve her though.

 

But is Winter okay?

 

What if she's crying right now and she doesn't have anyone by her side?

 

Karina's suddenly filled with such thoughts.

 

And for some reason, she started feeling guilty...

Now, to say that Karina is confused is an understatement because why the is she with Winter at The Meteor right now?

 

She doesn't even remember agreeing to this... but for some reason, here she is, sitting in front of Winter, Yeonjun's girlfriend, having a coffee date?

 

"I'll melt if you continue staring at me, you know," Winter playfully said which brought Karina back to reality.

 

"What the , Winter Kim?"

 

Winter raised an eyebrow, "what did I do now?" She asked because in all honesty, she doesn't have a clue as to why this girl is so pissed at her.

 

Few months ago, you wouldn't even expect that they'd turn into this.

 

Because months ago, they were always together, having fun, laughing at each other's quirks, doing random stuff, and who knows what.

 

They were happy.

 

That's what they were.

 

So, again, if you'd tell this, them not talking at all, being distant, Karina being hostile towards Winter, ignoring her presence whenever she's in sight, the Karina and Winter from months ago would just laugh their asses out.

 

And the things is, maybe we all got lost in translation.

 

What happened?

 

We were just talking about Karina sending Winter a message to stop her boyfriend from hitting on her, why reminisce the past now?

 

Karina let out a huge sigh, "can you just tell Yeonjun to stop messaging me, it's annoying the heck out of me."

 

Winter chuckled which made Karina raise an eyebrow to her, "now that sounds like a personal problem to me."

 

"Ugh, such a ," now Winter is starting to get on Karina's nerves again.

 

She stood up and was about to leave when Winter held her wrist.

 

"Wait," she softly said.

 

Karina turned to look at the younger girl who now looks like a puppy who looks innocent and kind and cute and wh-

 

"I'm sorry, Yu. Stay, please?" She asked the older girl, showing her puppy eyes.

 

that puppy eyes, Karina thought.

 

Karina cannot keep track on how many times she's already sighed for the day but here she goes again.

 

She plopped down the chair, "what do you want, Kim?"

 

Winter couldn't help but smile hearing Karina call her by her last name, just like the old times.

 

"Can we talk without you being hostile?" Karina crossed her arms at Winter's question.

 

"I mean, can we talk in like a normal way? You know, without you looking at me like you're going to kill me and all?"

 

"What do you mean by that?"

 

"You do realize that you're always looking at me like a wife who got cheated on and you just want to burry me alive, right?" Winter nervously laughed at her question.

 

Suddenly, it felt hot and Karina could feel her ears burning.

 

She scoffed at Winter's question.

 

"A wife who got cheated on?!" Her voice raising.

 

Winter flinched but was able to get a hold of herself right away.

 

She stood up and walked closer to Karina, made the older face her, and suddenly hugged her.

 

Karina was taken aback especially when Winter suddenly started caressing her back.

 

"Forgive me, Yu. I didn't mean to make you mad. In all honesty, I don't know what I did to make you feel this way towards me. We were okay and all of a sudden we're not. You wouldn't talk to me. You'd always push me away. Please, forgive me already. I'll do better if you'd just let me. I... i m-miss you," she stuttered at the last part.

 

For some reason, Karina also started feeling emotional and she doesn't want to bawl her eyes out in public, in the morning, so she returned Winter's hugged and buried her face in her stomach.

 

"Please, let's stop this game already," Winter trying not to crack because she knows that she'll break any time soon and it's not really ideal when they're in a coffee shop.

"So, what you're saying is, you got all mad because you assumed, what the , baby? You assumed that I was playing with your feelings and that I'm with Yeonjun? That we're lovers, , I'm sorry for cussing again, but what the , baby? Just because we're in each other's social media posting playful captions, you thought? You seriously thought that I'd date my cousin?" Winter cannot believe what she just heard.

 

She suffered for months just because... just because of this?!?!?!?!???

 

She paced back and forth in her bedroom, unable to accept what she just learned.

 

She's so going to kill Yeonjun when she sees her!

 

"Your cousin?" Karina asked, confused at what she just heard.

 

Winter let out a tired chuckle, "yes, you heard me right, baby." She walked towards Karina who's sitting at the edge of her bed, she kneeled down and laid her head on the latter's lap, wrapping her arms around her waist before speaking again. "That mofo who's been hitting on you behind my back is unfortunately the cousin that I told you I wanted you to meet before you started ing on me."

 

Karina's speechless.

 

This is why you don't assume things on your own.

 

And what the hell, it just sinked to her that Winter has been calling her baby ever since they got to her apartment.

 

Everything happened so fast.

 

This morning, she was annoyed at Yeonjun and messaged Winter after a really really long time, then she was in a coffee shop with her fighting, then they were suddenly in the car, on their way to Winter's apartment, then they were explaining their side of the story.

 

And Karina's so mad at herself for wasting all of those months that she could've been with Winter instead of ignoring her and getting all angry at her.

 

But in her defense, "you called each other babe and said ilys on Instagram, he was a new face, I didn't know him, you never showed his picture to me, I... i t-thought--," she defeatedly tried to defend herself before Winter cut her off with

 

"Forgive me for making you feel that way, you must've been so confused when we suddenly started posting each other on ig. I didn't really mean it, I wanted to introduce him to you that day you ghosted me. Not anymore though, that ain't seeing you no more. Didn't know that he had the guts to message you, I'll seriously kill him when I see him," Winter scoffed at the thought of Yeonjun hitting on her girl.

 

Karina's sure that she's also at fault for assuming things but Winter's the one apologizing like everything's her fault and she's feeling too many things right now that she doesn't know how to function.

 

Winter just kissed her.

 

Winter... Karina looked away from the younger to hide her blush.

 

Winter noticed it, "cute." She whispered.

 

"Baby, look at me, please?" She asked softly as if she's wooing the older girl.

 

Karina shook her head.

 

Winter placed her right hand on Karina's cheek and started caressing it with her thumb.

 

"Babyyyy."

 

"No, I don't want to."

 

"I'll kiss you again," Winter made it sound like she's threatening the older girl which made her turn to Winter right away; wrong move because it seemed like it did something to her neck.

 

Winter chuckled and started caressing the older's neck, after all, it's her fault.

 

Karina pouted, a sight that Winter missed.

 

One of the many things that she missed.

 

"But for real, just date me instead. I'm a faithful woman, I sweat to God," Winter even placed her right hand on her left chest.

 

Karina tried to stop her smile, "are you sure about that?"

 

Winter sat up straight, "for real!" she answered looking like an obedient puppy.

 

Karina squinted her eyes, "I heard that you were crushing on someone though?"

 

She heard about it from Yizhuo who learned about it from Giselle, her girlfriend, WInter's best friend, so it must be true.

 

It still irks her now.

 

But she just learned her lesson from assuming things.

 

Winter scratched her nape which made Karina's brow raise.

 

"So, it's true?" She asked.

 

Winter cleared , looking red all of a sudden.

 

Karina huffed.

 

Winter realized that Karina may be getting the wrong idea again, "no baby, it's not like that."

 

"What's not like that, huh, Winter? You just said that you're a faithful woman but here you are, blushing because of someone else?"

 

Winter hid her face using her hand, "it's you," she whispered but loud enough for Karina to hear.

 

"What was that?" Karina asked, sounding like a mad girlfriend but in reality, she just wants to hear it from Winter again.

 

That she's the one who's making her blush right now.

 

Winter groaned before plopping herself on her bed.

 

"Winter Kim."

 

"I said it was you who I was crushing on, who else?" Winter said with a muffled voice due to her face being buried on the pillow.

 

Eventually, she turned around to face Karina, "nothing can seriously compare to your beauty, how do you even think that I'd look at anyone else other than you? That'd be such a downgrade."

 

"Okay, lover girl. You know that I was just teasing you, right?"

 

"Kiss me and I'll forgive you for teasing me," Winter smirked.

 

Karina let out a heartily laugh, "your ways, Kim." She shook her head remembering how the younger would always trick her and make her do things.

 

"What?" Winter's now laughing as well.

 

"You think you can trick me into kissing you, huh?"

 

"Nothing's wrong with trying."

 

"But Kim, I hope that you forgive me for jumping to conclusions and for doing what I did, I know it's not fair for you and --,"

 

Karina was cut off again.

 

"I forgive you, okay? Maybe we should work on your communication skills, but I'm up for whatever as long as it's you, as long as I'm with you, and I am now saying this although I'm a nervous wreck right now just so I can assure you that I'll always be here no matter what."

 

A tear fell from Karina's eye, "what the hell, Winter Kim, don't just go saying sweet nothings to me, court me you head."

 

Winter who was a nervous wreck earlier couldn't help but laugh at Karina's reaction, she really cannot do sweet .

 

"I've already kissed you twice and you're only asking me to court you now? Do I not get to kiss you anymore? Like not until you say yes to me?"

 

"Wait, woah, I was just saying that you should court me, why would you not kiss me anymore?" Karina asked sounding like a kid who's got her candy stolen.

 

Winter continued laughing out loud until Karina looked at her like she's shooting daggers.

 

"I'll stop now, baby. Chill. But of course, I'll court you. You deserve nothing but the best, I cannot let you not experience that." Winter s her arms around Karina's waist and looked directly to her eyes. "Let's make up for the time that we lost, we got plenty of it now and please, baby, I hope that you'll let me know whenever something's bothering you. I cannot have you ignoring me again."

 

Winter sounded so vulnerable and Karina just wants to smack her head for what she did.

 

It was terrible, she knows.

 

She's still mad at herself for doing what she did even though Winter's downplaying it.

 

They were both hurt because of the stupidity and she swears that she'll work on her communication skills because apparently, her gut feeling is not the best.

 

She's unsure what she did in her past life to deserve Winter but she's sure that she only wants her for herself and that she won't make the same mistake twice.

 

Karina s her arms around Winter's neck as she made the both of them lay down her bed, she caressed her hair.

 

"I won't do it again, I swear. You got me. You have me, not just as long as you want, but always."

Maybe it's me who got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much? Haha, kidding.

I had this sudden urge to write something when I saw that Tiktok vid and I didn't even have an inch of idea on how I wanted this to end.

I'm just literally watching Spiderhead as I'm writing this one and of course, I didn't proofread it.
