// Two weeks later //
Two weeks had passed since I told Jaehyun. Although he seemed upset and was awkward that night, he’s been nothing but supportive since. It led me to think that maybe he was truly just in shock.
*Ding Dong* The doorbell of my apartment rang.
I opened the door and saw Mark with a huge bag of groceries.
“Mark!” I yelled, hugging him immediately.
“Hi, beautiful,” he said, placing a gentle kiss on my forehead.
“What’s all this for?”
“Well, you posted on Instagram that you were craving for fried chicken and beer.”
My heart fluttered. He brought me my favorite things without me even having to ask directly.
I hugged him from behind as he began to take out the food and transfer them onto plates. He smelled like cologne and fresh laundry. I knew at that moment I never wanted to let go of him.
He smiled and gave me a soft kiss, “I missed this.”
I watched him from the couch and noticed how he loved to sing while doing just about anything. I learned that most of the lyrics that he writes for his songs come from the most random moments in his life. That was another reason to love him even more.
“Alright, chicken and beer for my love,” he said, slowly bringing the plate and drinks and placing them on the table in front of the television.
“How’s practice? You’re not overworking yourself aren’t you?” I asked worriedly.
He shook his head, “No, I’m used to it. Besides, I told you that I love my job. It’s fulfilling.”
I smiled, “I love it when you talk like this.”
“Like what?”
“Like all serious and deep. I love it.”
We both smiled and he gave me another forehead kiss as I took another bite of the chicken. The night continued as we watched a few episodes of our favorite show on Netflix.
It was about an hour in when I started to feel drunk from the beer. I forgot about my low alcohol tolerance.
