Espresso ShotsFinally realizing Minjoo’s intense gaze on her, Yujin swiveled in the older female’s direction, an eyebrow cocked up and eyes filled with wonder. “What are you looking at?” She asked, not realizing her words were unfit to address someone who is older than her.
By the time she realized that, Minjoo was already glaring at her—but didn't say nor do anything.
Instead, Minjoo immediately pointed her finger at the ring around Yujin’s finger, and after a long, torturous silence, finally spoke in an oddly scornful rather than curious tone. “That ring. Did you just get engaged?”
“Why yes.” Yujin smiled as she looked down at the ring around her finger, wisely keeping from pointing out Minjoo's rather hostile tone. “I proposed to Chaewon unnie just a week ago.”
“Huh.” The older female nodded. She leaned closer to her desk, her tone no longer hostile as she asked further. “How do you propose?”
“Nothing really special.” Yujin blushed. “I just took her on a night stroll and we stopped by the river. The moon was especially pretty that night and I just… kneeled and asked her to marry me.”
“How empty.”
Yujin laughed good-naturedly. “Originally I planned to deliver a fancy speech for her, but everything in my mind evaporated once I saw how beautiful she was that night.”
