Out of the Woods (March)
If It's Not YouIt’s already too late when Irene realizes what has happened.
It’s March and Wendy is in her bedroom again, staring at her. She wishes the girl would just look around and see the pieces of movie tickets and polaroid pictures scattered across her walls. She wishes for her to see that her life goes on even without Wendy.
Irene can only sigh.
She hasn’t heard from Wendy in more than a month. Not that she’s expecting her to. And she wasn’t surprised, either. February was the month for love. So it makes sense that she did not even see a shadow of Wendy during that time.
When she pins Irene on the bed, Wendy acts as if nothing happened but Irene is sure that something did. She just doesn't know what.
It doesn’t matter.
Because something had changed in Irene as well.
Lonely.
Wendy makes her feel lonely.
Irene finally realizes with a tug of her heart.
She flutters her eyes open when everything stills. There’s still a dip on the bed beside her, reminding her of another presence hovering above her.
Wendy is looking at her, hands caressing her knees. With eyes dilated, she whispers.
“Did you miss me?” Wendy asks, voice sultry and laced with lust. She raises an eyebrow, waiting for an answer.
