Omo~ Dr. Baek Seung Jo is Jealous ;p

The Other Side of Dr. Baek Seung Jo

Writer's POV

"Ah...Nurse Oh," Nurse Soo suddenly barged in the crowded emergency room and called out Ha Ni who was busy wiping blood from a patient's forehead.

"De, yeogi!" replied Ha Ni, waving up her hand.

"Ah...are you done yet? There's another patient waiting for a treatment over there. He got injured by a rusty nail. It's not that serious. All the doctors are so busy handling the fire victims, so can you please handle that person. Yeogi, you just give him the anti-tetanus shot and clean up his wound," Nurse Soo handed Ha Ni a steel container which contained things needed for a shot. Ha Ni nodded and took the container.

"Ahjusshi, I need to handle another patient. If you feel sudden pain in your head, just call the nurse, okay?" the man nodded and smiled. Hani bowed slightly to the man before rushing to another patient that Nurse Soo asked her to handle. Today had been a very hectic day. There was a big building caught on fire and the victims was enormous. Not to forget, there was three car accidents and two accidents involving heavy vehicles and pedestrians. And she can't even barely bumped into Seung Jo. Ha Ni sighed unintentionally.

"Aigoo~ is this how you treated your patient? Long face and heavy sigh?" a familiar chuckle was heard from a man that sat on a wheelchair. Ha Ni quickly looked over.

"Yah! Bong Joon Gu!" Ha Ni shrieked.

"De, Nurse Oh. Now, could you please have a look on my left foot. I don't think I can feel it anymore," Joon Gu let out a small groan. Ha Ni helped Joon Gu to get up and sat him on one of the bed in the emergency room.

"Ah, miahn. Omo~ Joon Gu ah~ how did this happen? This is so deep," Ha Ni gasped when she looked at the deep cut. Blood was still dripping out of the cut.

"Aish...cut the crap. Put something on it, it hurts like hell," Joon Gu closed his eyes and bit his lower lip, holding in the pain.

"Ah...jamkamn," Ha Ni went through things in the steel container and grabbed a cotton bud to clean up the cut.

"Urghh...isskkkk..." Joon Gu clenched his fist.

"Ah...miahn. Joon Gu ah~ bear it for awhile, okay? I'll disinfect the cut first. It'll sting a bit," Ha Ni grabbed the disinfection liquid and slowly rinsed the cut. Joon Gu groaned louder.

"Joon Gu ah~ gwaenchanh, gwaenchanh, it's done already. I'm going to put the medicine now," Ha Ni slowly put on the medicine and fixed the bandage. "Done. Joon Gu ah~ gwaenchah-ayo?" Ha Ni wiped Joon Gu's forehead that was drenched with sweats. Joon Gu opened his eyes and curled up his lips, easing Ha Ni.

"Much better," he mumbled weakly. Ha Ni helped Joon Gu to lie on his back and pulled the blanket over him.

"Ah, batta! I haven't give you the anti tetanus yet. Why don't you rest for a while, I'll be back in a minute to give you the shot, arasso?" Ha Ni patted Joon Gu's shoulder and went away to clean up her hand and get rid of the blood-stained latex glove. When she returned, a doctor was busy asking Joon Gu couples of question. Jamkamn, isn't that...

" Baek Seung Jo!" called out Ha Ni, looking so excited to see her beloved husband.

"Yah, Oh Ha Ni, we're in the hospital right now, behave yourself. Don't you have other patient to look after?" responded Seung Jo, tediously.

"Busun suria(What are you talking about)? I am looking after my patient right now. Bong Joon Gu is my patient. Aniya?" said Ha Ni cheerily, making aegyo face to Joon Gu. Joon Gu gigled slowly, so that his foot won't hurt much. Seung Jo smirked.

"Whatever," he said as he jotted something down on the record. "Ah...have you got the tetanus shot yet?" asked Seung Jo, languidly.

"Not yet. I'm just about to give him," Ha Ni grabbed the syringe at the bedside and pulled off the cap.

"Ani, let me do it. You gave painful shots after all," Seung Jo tried to take away the syringe from Ha Ni but she quickly put on the cap back and hid it behind her back.

"Shiroo~ Nurse Soo told me to do it. So, why don't you just let me do it," begged Ha Ni, pouted her lips.

"Yah! Do you think this is some kind of game? Hand me the syringe," Seung Jo held his right hand out, asking for the syringe. Ha Ni looked away, refused to give in. Seung Jo lost his patience and approached Ha Ni before Joon Gu grabbed Seung Jo's hand, staring at him, unsatisfied.

"Let her do it. Painful shots or not, I don't care," said Joon Gu, protectively. Ha Ni smiled brightly, pulling the cap off the syringe again. Seung Jo snatched his hand from Joon Gu's tight grip and walked away. Ha Ni ignored Seung Jo's responses and continued her work, disinfecting Joon Gu's upper arm before slowly plant in the needle. Then she pushed the piston, allowing the fluid inside it flow into Joon Gu's body.

"Is it hurt?" asked Ha Ni as soon as she done with the syringe. Joon Gu smiled warmly.

"Ani, I don't feel it at all," replied Joon Gu, patted Ha Ni's shoulder. "You did a great job," praised him.

"Ah~ that's a relieve then. Gomawoyo~ Joon Gu ah~" *biggrin*

Behind the curtain, not far away from Joon Gu's bed...

"Mwo?! Doesn't feel it at all? Yah! Is his receptors damaged or what?" condemned Seung Jo. "And that Oh Ha Ni kid really likes to get on my nerve," Seung Jo sighed and walked away, cursing Joon Gu under his breath.

***

"Good morning!" Oh Ha Ni smiled, opening the curtain so the room will be blessed with sun rays. "Do you sleep well last night? How do you feel today, Bong-sshi?" said Ha Ni, shoving thermometer into his mouth. Joon Gu just smiled weakly. His head felt a little bit dizzy this morning.

"Omo~ you have a fever. Gweanchanh, I'll get you a medicine later on. How's your foot feeling? Is it still hurt? Don't worry, the doctor will round the ward soon. I'm just checking on you incase you need something. You kno..." Ha Ni paused when Joon Gu suddenly grabbed her hand.

"Yah! Oh Ha Ni, you speak too much, I'm okay. Just a little bit dizzy. Nothing serious. Stop buzzing around, won't you?" Joon Gu giggled. Ha Ni pouted.

"I'm just worry about you. You're my best friend after all and we haven't met for quite sometime. I'm just feeling sorry for you," Ha Ni explained with a small smile on her face.

"Ehem..." the sound of somebody clearing his throat distract Ha Ni. It was Seung Jo with Doctor Na, holding a patient record in their hand. Seung Jo's expression was unreadable. His eyes looked straight to Joon Gu's hand that was holding Ha Ni's. Ha Ni quickly snatched her hand off. The atmosphere was ice-cold and silent, the silent that used to exist just before a horrendous hurricane happen.

"Ah...you're here, Seung Jo ah~" said Ha Ni, loosen up the atmosphere. "Joon Gu ah~ I better go now, see you later," Ha Ni smiled. "Annyeong, Na Seongsaeng-nim," greeted Ha Ni before went away.

***

"Seung Jo ah~ don't you think Nurse Oh was quite close with the patient that was admitted yesterday? What was his name again...umm...Bong...Bong---" Doctor Na put his index finger at his chin, trying to remember the patient's name.

"Bong Joon Gu...his name is Bong Joon Gu," replied Seung Jo, sipping his tea. It was their breakfast time and they were having French toast and a cup of tea at the hospital cafe.

"Ah...patient Bong Joon Gu...Nurse Oh keep getting in and out of his room over and over again. I even thought they're having an affair behind your back," Doctor Na chuckled at his own joke which make Seung Jo frowned.

"Ani. He was her ex-classmate, they used to be closed," explained Seung Jo.

"Closed? You mean like 'boyfriend-girlfriend' close?" asked Doctor Na.

"'Boyfriend-girlfriend'? Yah! Molla. Why don't you ask her yourself," snapped Seung Jo, feeling uneasy. He stood up and went away, leaving his French toast untouched. Doctor Na scratched his back head.

"Yah! Baek Seung Jo. What's wrong with him, really. Did I said something wrong? Aish...jinjja,"

Seung Jo was heading to his room when he saw Ha Ni walked quickly with a can of fruit juice and aspirin in her hand, totally unaware of his existence.

"Yah! Oh Ha Ni," said Seung Jo in his deep, emotionless tone, grabbing Ha Ni's arm. Ha Ni startled a bit.

"Ah, Seung Jo. Wae?" asked Ha Ni.

"Where are you going?" Seung Jo tilted his head towards Ha Ni.

"Joon Gu's room," answered Ha Ni with a smile on her face.

"Joon Gu's room? Why do you want to go there? Don't you have any--" before Seung Jo could finish his words, Ha Ni interrupted.

"Ani, Joon Gu texted me and said he's having a headache. That's why I want to go there to give him aspirin," said Ha Ni, raising the aspirin a bit so that Seung Jo could see it.

"He what? He could have just hit the red button by his bedside to call the doctor. Why did he text you? Are you some kind of private nurse to him?" barked Seung Jo, impatiently.

"Seung Jo ah~, he said that it's not that serious. Just an aspirin would do. Ah...I'm already late. See you around Seung Jo ah~ annyeong!" replied Ha Ni before rushed over to Joon Gu's room. Seung Jo sighed.

"Is that girl just walked over me? Yah...unbelievable...tchh..."

"Joon Gu, I'm here. Are you okay? I brought some aspirin and juice," Ha Ni said, sitting on the chair besides the bed.

"Nae, gomawo. I still feel a little bit dizzy," said Joon Gu while massaging his forehead slowly. Ha Ni poured some water in a glass and handed it to Joon Gu with an aspirin. Joon Gu smiled warmly and ate up the pill.

"Ha Ni ah~ miahn...to have you come all over here just to give me this pill. I don't want to make fuss calling the doctor and nurses just because I have a plain headache," Joon Gu laid back.

"Aniya, it is my honor to serve my best friend. Besides, my shift is over. So, I'm free right now," Ha Ni winked and bowed sightly to Joon Gu, acting like Joon Gu was some sort of royal family member. Joon Gu giggled. Suddenly Joon Gu's phone rang and he quickly picked it up.

"Annyeong, Chris,"

"Annyeong, chagiya~,"

"Yah! Could you please stop going around calling me chagiya like that. People might misunderstood," Joon Gu frowned.

"Haha...they didn't misunderstand. You ARE my boyfriend, kuraechi?" Chris giggled.

"Whatever," Joon Gu bit his lower lip, preventing his lip from curling upward.

"Chagiya~ how are you today? I called Oh-sshi earlier and he said you're being hospitalized. Why didn't you tell me? Do you know how much I worry when I heard about this? It's a relieve to hear your voice like usual," Joon Gu sighed. He really didn't want Chris to find out about this. No matter how hard he tried to convince himself that he don't really like this girl, but he really hates to see her tears and sobs.

"Chris ah~ gwaenchanh. I'm fine. It was just a minor cut. Don't worry," Joon Gu explained.

"Aish...I hope I were there," Chris's weak voice really torn Joon Gu apart.

"Chris, I am really okay. Stop worrying about me, won't you? It's not like I'm being hospitalized because of a car accident," Joon Gu coaxed her. Chris sighed heavily.

"I really love you, geugeo ara (you know)? You telling me not to worry, it's very impossible. If it's not because of this stupid work, heck, I'm not going to be apart with you," Chris sobbed louder, making Joon Gu startled.

"Yah! Yah! Stop crying! I'm not dead yet, you pabo! Chris, listen! If you don't stop crying this instant, I will hang up," said Joon Gu, seriously.

"Arasso, arasso. Don't hang up," Chris tried her best to stop her sobs. Joon Gu smiled, relieved.

"Do you eat well, Chris ah~? You must be missing my noodle very much, right?" Joon Gu looked at Ha Ni who is busy exchanging the water in the vase filled with red roses.

"De~ noemu bogo sip-eul. Hajiman (but)...dangsin-i deobogo sip-eoyo (I miss you more)," Joon Gu couldn't help to keep his lips curl upwards.

"Jeodo guelaeyo (me too)," Joon Gu mumbled.

"Nae? What did you said?" asked Chris. Joon Gu blushed.

"A...aniya. I said I also wanted to eat noodle right now. The hospital food doesn't really suit my appetite," Joon Gu crossed his finger.

"Ah~jamkamamn. Isn't Ha Ni-sshi is working at the hospital you're being admitted?" asked Chris out of the blue.

"Nae, she's here right now. Do you want to speak with her?" Joon Gu gave an eye-signal to Ha Ni.

"Nae," Chris said quickly.

"Ha Ni ah~ Chris want to speak with you," said Joon Gu, holding out his hand phone towards Ha Ni. Ha Ni nodded.

"Annyeong, Chris-sshi," greeted Ha Ni.

"Annyeong. Ha Ni-sshi, can I ask you a favor?" asked Chris, hopefully.

"Sure, what is it?" Ha Ni agreed without hesitation.

"Can you please buy Joon Gu your Appa's delicious noodle? Joon Gu ah~ really like to eat your Appa's noodle. Please? I really wish to be by his side, but I've some work to do in New York right now. Otokajo?" said Chris, half-begged. Ha Ni smiled.

"Don't worry. I'll take care that for you. Why don't you finish your work quickly and palli come back to his side. I could tell that he's missing you damn much," Ha Ni giggled. Joon Gu rolled his eyes.

"Yah! Busun suria (What did you say)?" Joon Gu's face became red like a tomato.

"Ara. Even if he didn't tell me, nan arayo (I still know)," Chris replied sheepishly.

"Aigoo...nomu kyeopta~," Ha Ni burst into laughter.

"Ah~ Ha Ni-sshi, I need to go now. For the help, nomu kamsahamnida. I'll make sure I'll repay you some day. Geoleom, annyeong!" 'click' Chris hang up and Ha Ni gave the phone back to its owner.

"I'll be back in thirty minutes," said Ha Ni before she walk out, leaving Joon Gu in numb state.

"De?"

Oh Ha Ni's POV

Seung Jo ah~ my shift already over. So, I'm going to Appa's noodle shop. See you later. Annyeong! ~ Oh Ha Ni

I texted Seung Jo on my way to Appa's shop. I was still in my nurse attire as I don't want to waste time to exchange my clothes. As soon as I reach Appa's shop, there weren't lots of customers. Appa greeted me with his big smile.

"Appa~" I hugged him.

"Aigoo Ha Ni ah~ what are you doing here?" asked Appa.

"Joon Gu said he wants to eat your noodles. That's why I came. Besides my work time is over and no one is at home. Seung Jo's parents and dongsaeng are having dinner outside and Seung Jo is on-called tonight," I explained. "Ah..Appa. Can you please make the noodle faster? Joon Gu might be starving right now," Appa nodded with a smile.

"Arasso, jamkamamn," and he disappeared in the kitchen.

Ten minutes later...

"Here, the noodle. I made for you and Seung Jo too. Mani bogo," said Appa, handing me a plastic bag filled with three sets of noodles. I hugged him and excused myself.

Writer's POV

"Jang! Jang! Jang!" Ha Ni popped her head into Joon Gu's room.

"Kkamjjag-iya! Oh Ha Ni, what are you doing here? I thought your shift is over. Shouldn't you be going back right now?" Joon Gu frowned.

"Ani, I went to Appa's to get you a plate of super delicious finger- noodles. Surprise!" Ha Ni served the noodle. Joon Gu was already drooling.

"Wah! Gomawo, Ha Ni ah~ but don't you want to go home?" asked Joon Gu again.

"Shiroo~ nobody is at home. Sung Jo is on-called tonight. I want to hang out with you," Ha Ni took out another noodle from the plastic bag for herself.

"Here, your chopstick. Mani bogo," said Ha Ni digging in her noodle, enjoying every tiny bit of it.

"Yah! Slow down. You eat like a starving pig," joked Joon Gu.

"What did you call me just now?!" Ha Ni shrieked.

"Shh! You're so loud!" and we burst into laughter together.

"Ha Ni ah~ I really miss our old times,"

Seung Jo's POV

"Baek Seungsaeng-nim," called out a nurse which stopped my steps.

"Nae?" I turned back.

"One of your patient from room 406 said that he want to discharge as soon as possible but his left arm haven't fully recover yet. Can you please tell his family. I've already tried but they're giving me hard time," the nurse looked down, feeling awry.

"Arasso. Don't worry, I'll tell them tomorrow," I nodded.

"Gomawo, Baek Seungsaeng-nim. If there's nothing else, please excuse me," the nurse slightly bowed to me before stepping away.

"Jakamn," I bit my lower lip, unsure of my action.

"Nae, Baek Seungsaeng-nim?" she looked at me back.

"Erm...Nurse Oh, do you see her?" I asked.

"Ah...ani, maybe she's already went home. It's almost 10 p.m. by the way," answered the nurse, looking at her watch.

"Um...that's all, kamsahamnida," I bowed and went away for a ward round. She really did go home. I thought she just bluffing me when she send me that message. There's no one at home after all. I passed by Joon Gu's room and noticed his light is still on. 'He's not sleeping yet?' I was about to open his door when I heard...

"What did you call me just now?!" isn't that Oh Ha Ni's voice? What is she doing here at this hour? Specifically in Bong Joon Gu's room at the middle of the night. Isn't she said that she want to go home earlier?

"Kyaa...omo~ miahn," Ha Ni's shrieking voice startled me. I quickly opened the door only to see something that was really unexpected.

Writer's POV

"Kyaa...omo~ miahn," Ha Ni shrieked when she accidentally spilled the orange juice that she was about to give to Joon Gu. She quickly grabbed the tissue and wiped off the orange juice.

"Remove your shirt, you might catch a cold," Ha Ni said, helping Joon Gu ing his shirt.

"Oh Ha Ni!" the sound of a familiar voice calling out her name froze Ha Ni's hand on Joon Gu's shirt.

"Seung Jo..." aware of where Seung Jo's eyes looked at, Ha Ni quickly snatched her hand off Joon Gu's shirt. "It's not like what you think," Ha Ni tried to explain but Seung Jo just went out, totally ignoring her. Ha Ni still froze at her spot.

"Ha Ni ah~ what are you doing? Go, after him. Explain everything to him," urged Joon Gu.

"But you..." Ha Ni looked at Joon Gu's wet shirt.

"Ani. I'm okay. It's him you should worry about," Joon Gu smiled warmly before pushing Ha Ni away from his bed. Ha Ni nodded and hurriedly rushed after Seung Jo.

"Seung Jo ah~ Seung Jo ah~ jamkamamn," Ha Ni grabbed his hand but he roughly snatched it back and kept walking.

"Yah! Baek Seug Jo!" Ha Ni shrieked. They were at the park, so there was no one around to watch their public drama. At last Seug Jo stopped walking. Ha Ni approached him.

"Neo waegure (Why are you like this)? We just having the noodle when suddenly--" Seung Jo cut her off before she could finished.

"When suddenly you ed his shirt?" Seung Jo snapped. Ha Ni startled.

"Ani. I accidentally spilled orange juice on his shirt. That's why I'm helping him to remove the shirt so he wouldn't catch a cold," explained Ha Ni in one breath.

"I thought it's his foot that was hurt," Seung Jo smirked cynically.

"Baek Seung Jo, he's my best friend. I couldn't just ignore him. Besides, it's me who spill the orange juice on him," Seung Jo stared at her sharply.

"Then why don't you just go back to your best friend and leave me alone!" yelled Seung Jo right into Ha Ni's face. Ha Ni gasped. Tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Seung J--"

"Don't you heard me? I said leave me alone. I don't want to talk to you," Seung Jo walked away.

"Yah! Baek Seung Jo! Neo waegure? Neo olmana sarahandago molla (Don't you know how much I love you)? Neo komjongi opso (Don't you have any feeling)? Yah! Daedabhae (Answer me)! Daedabhae, Seung Jo ah~!" Ha Ni sobbed and crashed to the floor, hugging her knees. And Seung Jo disappeared behind the blackness of the night.

***

"Nurse Oh, Nurse Oh," Ha Ni startled when she felt somebody patted her shoulder.

"De? What did you said just now?" Ha Ni looked totally lost.

"Yah! Neo gwaenchanhi? You look pretty messed up," commented Nurse Lee.

"Ani.Gwaenchanh," she tried to fake a smile, but failed. Her head hurts like hell, she done nothing right that day and she can't even tell the difference between a plain rubber band and a tourniquet.

"Hmm...take this to room 408. Na Seungsaeng-nim needed this as soon as possible. Palli~" ordered Nurse Lee, handing Ha Ni a container filled with cotton buds and a syringe. Ha Ni smiled and walked weakly to the room. On her way to that room, she bumped into the last person on earth she would ever want to bump into, Baek Seung Jo. It has been two days since the incident and they weren't barely even see or talk to each other. Ha Ni couldn't help but to feel terribly messed up and guilty. She couldn't even get a decent sleep or meal. Seung Jo came from the opposite direction, totally looking away and when he passed by her side, she felt her world started to spin around. Her hands were trembling. Her knees weakened. She quickly leaned against the wall, supporting herself. Her right hand squeezed the container, restraining herself from crashing to the floor. Her sight became more blurry. And the last thing she remembered was the sound of the steel container crashing to the floor and Seung Jo's voice calling out her name anxiously. After that, blank--

Ha Ni's POV

What is this feeling? I felt so warm. And comfortable. All the dizziness just went away like that. And that voice, make me feel safe and secured. I want to feel like this forever. Even if I have to sacrifice every single thing that I have now, I would never give up on you, Seung Jo ah~. Neol saranghae...

Seung Jo's POV

I just went pass her when I heard a loud thud. I quickly turned back and saw Ha Ni collapsed. I ran towards her, calling her name again and again but she remain silent, unresponsive. And now here I am, laying besides her on the hospital bed, hugging her tightly so I won't lose her ever again. I didn't know how long we've been like this, but I just want to hug her. For the past few days after the incident in Joon Gu's room, we haven't talk or see or greet or even look at each other. I just miss her so much. Her laugh. Her pout. Her sob.

"Ha Ni ah~ you know what, when you asked me did I know how much you love me, I felt like a total loser. I really don't know how much you love me, but I know that I love you like hell. That's why I acted up like that. I hate seeing you pay your full attention to Joon Gu just because he hurt his foot. I hate seeing you ran in and out of his room all day long just because he had some stupid headache. I hate seeing you bought his favorite food just because he said he want to eat it. Because I never got any chance to be treated like that by you for a very long time. When I hurt myself, I put medicine on my own. When I had a headache, I get aspirin for myself. When I craving for my favorite food, I have no other choice but to refrain it for awhile.  Last time you took care of me when I sick was like two months ago, when I broke my ankle. That two weeks was like heaven to me. Ha Ni ah~ jeongmal miahn for acting up like that. Jeongmallo saranghae, Ha Ni ah~" I planted soft kiss on her forehead and tightened my hug, feeling her warmth.

"Na...do...saranghae," Ha Ni whispered weakly with tears running down her cheek. I smiled and tilted down my head a bit to face Ha Ni.

"You're awake?" I ran my fingers through her soft hair. Ha Ni smiled back and nodded. "Yah snotty nose cry baby Oh Ha Ni, stop crying. I hate to see your tears," I gave a soft peck on her curling lips. I heard soft giggle escaped from . I wiped off her tears and kissed her forehead.

"Even if I have to sacrifice every single thing that I have now, I would never give up on you, Ha Ni ah~. Neol saranghae..."

Chapter 1: I agree with lonergirl. I loved your story but the Korean words stuffed me around. To not disrupt your stories flow you need to pick a language and stick with it.

Chapter 1: The story was great, though there were some grammatical error, but it was understandable.. The thing is that, I was distracted by the Korean words and phrases (though some are translated), I couldn't understand a single thing written in korean words since I am a JDrama/JPOP fan myself. I just stumbled upon this Fic and it caught my attention. It was sweet, romantic, and ALMOST perfect. I LOVE IT.. ♥♥♥

KEEP WRITING! ^_^
