Viva forever

It’s been ten to eleven years
Since Youngjae last came home
Joys, fears, smiles and tears
Tis the place where it all came from.

In a dusty room he stands
Eyes crinkle into a smile
Polaroid picture firms in his hand
Oh how the years had disappeared in just a while.

The glossiness of the photo has long gone
Of his childhood best friend and he
They were each other’s first love, brothers to the bone
Hand in hand, smiling in glee.

Both of them were dreamers
Young love in the sun
In a secret forest where nothing else matters
Where all the magic begun.

Tears welling in his eyes
As he sat on his bed with an enormous sigh
His busy days led him to forget the boy in the picture
Daehyun was like sugar and honey, but definitely sweeter.

Youngjae looks out the window
Deciding to pay their secret heaven a visit
Brown leaves fall so gracefully so
He’ll meet his loved one in just a bit.

The sun peeks through the treetops
Bright yellow flowers and pink they pop
Dirt floor littered with dried leaves and twigs
He remembered the space used to be so big

“Try and catch me,” the younger called out
His tongue showing teasing the other
Daehyun laughed, “Get back here!” He shout
He wasn’t as healthy and running makes it harder.

Youngjae stumbled over a log
As Daehyun reached out to catch him
They tumbled on the dry grass laughing in the fog
Soft skin on his, the color of white cream.

The older leant down to kiss him on the lips
It was pure, it was magic, it was their very first
In the innocence of a child it was all he could give
It felt as if their hearts at any time were going to burst.

They sat quietly under the old willow tree
Watching the magic surrounds them it was as real as it can be
Fairies and pixies flying about 
Celebrating the love they had that were finally out

Youngjae smiles when he sees the log he stumbled on years ago
The exact place where Daehyun had stolen his first kiss
The old willow stood as tall as it was before
The butterflies and bees hover around him in bliss

Under the tree he went and sat
The feelings from years ago decorated his heart, overwhelming fills his chest
The gnome houses and fairy huts were no longer there
Because the magic was only for the two to share

“Do you still remember,
How we used to be?
Feeling together, believe in whatever 
The words you said to me.

“The wind howls as the trees whisper I miss you
If I had one wish, I’d wish you’re here too
What I would give to make you stay,
I would give it all away

“Had I known I would not have left you
Alone beneath the stars
On the night when I last saw you
Not knowing it was our last.”

An old leaf falls on his hair, 
As he waits and waits for his old lover to come by
Promises made, all the memories they bare
To believe that he’d actually come, that’d be a terrible lie.

In the magic forest that no one else can see
Daehyun was fine and so was his knee
His raven hair was there so handsome and so strong
Only in their magic forest where nothing could go wrong

When he got the news that Daehyun can no longer come to play
He ran to the forest, he fell and he wept
He cursed at the night and he cursed at the day
He stayed there and prayed but it was already too late.

A streak of light flashes across the sky
And the boy he misses the most came in sight
His hair was back, he walked and he even said hi
He hugged the younger telling him he was alright 

“I have to go, life is not mine to choose 
You have to stay for you have nothing to lose
Don’t forget me remember me to the end
And someday I promise we will meet again.”

Little pixies came and they carried him away
Into a giant magic cube he disappeared 
And the pixies were gone, none of them stayed
That was the last from the boy he ever heard

Daehyun was gone
It was too soon, this child
He was left all alone
And the magic says goodbye.

A chilling breeze creeps up his neck
He turns around and sees a familiar back
“Daehyun, you came and you’re all grown up!”
Dressed in all white, the elder smile and gave him a hug.

“Yes, I still remember every whispered words
The touch of your skin
Giving life from within 
Like a love song never heard.”

They embraced each other for the longest time
“I missed you so much,” Youngjae cried looking him in the eyes
“I missed you too, and thought you’ve forgotten about me.”
“Why would I ever? I would never let that be.”

“You’ve grown so beautiful, how my heart beats for you.
I was gone for awhile but truly I’m still in love with you.”
Youngjae blushes as tears rolled down his cheeks
“I’m sorry that it took me years to come back.”

They stayed there till the night sky greets the two lovers
And finally it was time for him to go
“Take me with you, Daehyun.” Youngjae begs over and over
“You have to stay, and live forever more

“You will live and remember
For I’ll truly be gone if you dare forget
I’ll always be here, waiting my dear
I’ll be in our heaven, waiting by the gate.”

The faintest whisper of goodbye
Leaving Youngjae alone to cry
He searches for his love in the soaring clouds
And to the wishing star he calls his name out loud

“Viva forever,
I’ll be waiting, everlasting,like the sun
Live forever,
For the moment ever searching for the one.”

“I’ll see you tomorrow.” They used to say.
“You’ll always be mine.” Youngjae promises.
“You are the one I wanted the most to stay.
So when you’re gone my heart did break into million pieces.”

“Back where I belong now,
Was it just a dream?
Feelings unfold they will never be sold and the secret’s safe with me.”

I would like to give an explanation about a paragraph, in case some of you may not understand it.

In the magic forest that no one else can see
Daehyun was fine and so was his knee
His raven hair was there so handsome and so strong
Only in their magic forest where nothing could go wrong

Daehyun usually can’t walk, and he is terribly sick but when he’s there in the forest, he was fine and so was his legs.
He lost all his black hair due to his terminal illness, and he was weak. But in the forest, his hair was back and he was strong again.

So it’s really up to you if you want to believe it was all real magic or leave it as just little children’s make believe imagination.
