Han Alise is a French/Korean transfer student from France. She doesn't understand one bit of Korean. 

Kris Wu or Wu Yifan is a Canadian/Chinese. He speaks Korean fluently, and he's attracted to the British accent of the transfer student, Alise. Being the only person to speak English well in the classroom, he's forced to always stay by her side and translate for her.
