“Choi-ssi? This way, please.”

She followed the coordi noona she would be replacing down the hallway. They were lined with various decorated practice rooms and living rooms. Kyoung-mi saw SM Town posters plastered all over the whitewashed walls.

Her real shock came not from seeing the idols’ glossy framed faces on the posters, but from when she saw Yoona and Soo-young walking casually past her. She was amazed at how normal they seemed and how different they acted when not in the spotlight.

She gasped a little when she saw Yesung chatting with Sungmin and Yesung shot her a little smile. “Hey, noona,” he said to Kyoung-mi. She almost passed out.

“This is where you’ll be working when you’re not with your idols. All the clothing is kept here-“ the coordi noona pointed to several huge closets- “and it’s organized by size. You will be given the measurements of each of the idols you’ll be taking care of. Oh, my name is Miina, by the way.” Miina smiled and turned to walk down the hallway again. “Follow me, I’ll show you who your idols are.” She walked away and Kyoung-mi followed her apprehensively.

After a short walk down the hallway Miina turned and opened a door. Kyoung-mi instantly heard a song she recognized as “Lucifer” by her favorite band SHINee. She followed Miina into the room and she swore her heart missed a beat.

There, in the huge white room, sat all five members of SHINee singing along to the track playing on surround-sound. Kyoung-mi smiled nervously, and her eyes dropped to the floor.

“I think this is our new coordi noona, Maknae,” Minho said to Taemin, as he wore a confused expression. Immediately, Taemin shot out of his seat to greet Kyoung-mi. He tripped over Onew’s abandoned box of chicken in his haste to meet her and fell flat on the floor at her feet. Kyoung-mi clapped one small manicured hand over and extended the other out to Taemin. He blushed and accepted it, then looked away once back on his feet.

Miina spoke up after the other boys were done giggling and Taemin’s blunder. “I’ll leave you all to get to know each other for a little bit.” She smiled and walked out of the room. Kyoung-mi faintly heard her shuffling down the hallway.

Once Miina was gone, an awkward silence fell. Nobody knew what to say or do. After shifting around a little uncomfortably, Kyoung-mi spoke very quietly. “Uh… I’m Choi Kyoung-mi. I’m an intern here, so pretty soon I’ll become your coordi noona-“

“So that means we’ll be seeing you all the time?” interjected Onew hopefully.

“Well, yes…” She received an awkward hug from behind from Taemin, whose face was nearly glowing with happiness.

They all heard the door to the great room open and saw Miina’s head sticking out of it. “Choi-ssi, there really isn’t much you need to do today. Just get to know the guys a little more and you have the rest of the day off, okay?”

Kyoung-mi could tell that this would be a wonderful day.
