the humiliation didn't stop there.

the next day when i entered class, i heard him huddled up in the corner of the room with his popular friends. "how do i love you? let me count the ways." he was reading from my note in a mimicking tone, but he had thrown it away when we met up. he still had a picture he took of it, just for this purpose.

his friends laughed loudly like he'd just told the greatest joke of all time. but of course he had. it was the joke of sofia lee hernandez.

"there she is!" one of his friends spotted me and shouted, pointing a finger at me.

the laughing got louder.

but i wasn't around to hear it because i ran out of the class room.
