Traffic Lights
The End Is Yet To ComeAct 2- Traffic Lights
A mother and her child wait at a red light.
“Mum, what are we having for dinner tonight?”
The woman holds up the shopping bag in her hand.
“Hamburgers, your favourite.”
The little girl squeals with delight and hugs her mum, a beaming smile across her face.
The light turns green.
“Cassie, hold my hand while we cross the road”
A car speeds down the road, oblivious to the pair walking across. The driver is intoxicated. The mother hears the screech of brakes. It was too late.
A man walks out of the shadows and onto the road.
The mother and child lay across the cement. Blood slowly staining the ground.
“Tuesday 23rd of December, 8:32PM. Karen Walkers Aged 32. Cassandra Walkers Aged 6. Cause of Death/s: Internal Bleeding”
The man watches as the souls of the victims slowly float away into the distance.
“When you have cut all your ties, come find me again at The Lantern Teahouse” he whispered towards the slowly fading souls.
The man turned around and walked away, the sound of sirens in the background.
