“Awww, how cute!”

Curious as to who had made the comment, Yoongi slightly turned towards the direction of the voice. As his eyes made contact with yours, he couldn’t help but give you a look over, taking in your appearance. You seemed like a decent person, dressed in simple but stylish clothing, and Yoongi couldn’t help but scold himself for thinking that a complete stranger was attractive. You also had a dog with you, but yours was curled atop your lap, clearly sleeping.

“Thanks,” he replied, sending you a small smile.

Startled by the acknowledgement, you started in your seat, automatically finding yourself sitting up just that much straighter. Feeling your puppy squirm around, you felt bad for moving, so you lightly pet her, trying to compose your beating heart. You couldn’t believe that he had heard you, and you were so embarrassed he even addressed you for the comment.

“Y-you’re welcome,” you stuttered, bowing as best as you could while sitting down on a bench with a dog on your lap.

While part of you did it out of respect, the bigger part of you did it as to hide your face from this cute stranger. Honestly, you should have just kept your mouth shut, but no, you just had to say something about it, didn’t you?

He couldn’t help the grin, seeing you so flustered. It was just his dog, why make such a big deal about it? You even had one yourself. Still, he found you endearing, so he decided to hang around a bit longer instead of just continuing to walk right past.

“His name’s Holly,” Yoongi continued, having stopped in front of you, gesturing to the brown dog at the end of the leash.

Tilting your head, you were a bit confused as to what the dog’s name had to do with anything. Unless…. Oh… Wow…. He thought you were talking about his dog…? With a quiet giggle, you shook your head at the situation, your hands finding themselves running through the soft fur of your dog.

“He’s so cute,” you reply cheekily, unsure of where the newfound flirty confidence was coming from.

With a slight squint, Yoongi pondered your words. Hadn’t you already complimented Holly…? Wait a minute… Seriously? Smirking, Yoongi allowed himself to flirt back, intrigued at this new revelation.

“Cute, what’s the name?”

You had a feeling you knew where this was going, but you decided to play along anyway. Why not have some fun with some good old-fashioned flirty? You had nothing to lose, and he seemed like a nice guy anyway.

“This is Lola,” you answer, gesturing to still sleeping puppy.

Nodding his head, he grinned as he also handed you a small slip of paper. You, in turn, were definitely caught off guard. When had he even written anything? Taking a small peek, you could feel a blush return to your face as you became shy once more.

Steeling himself on the inside, Yoongi couldn’t believe what he had just done. As strange as it may sound, his gut told him that you were a person worth getting to know, and seeing as his intuition was never wrong, why not just go ahead and see where things led?

“Dog’s cute too.”
