Gangsters in LoveHey lovelies. It’s Zero. So I’m sure all of you guys have heard about the tragic death of our beloved Kim Jonghyun from Shinee. He was found dead on December 18th, 2017 from a suspected suicide. Korean authorities say that he died from Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Anyways, before he died, he sent a text message to his sister as well as leaving a suicide note for a friend. I read the note and honestly, it’s about how depression consumed him. . Depression doesn’t discriminate. Even someone who seemingly has a perfect life, can suffer from depression.
The entertainment industry has lost many artists to suicide and depression. The kpop industry especially lost a lot of entertainers. I honestly think that it’s because kpop artists aren’t seen as humans the moment they become famous. They’re like objects people worship and objects that companies exploit for money. We’ve all seen lawsuits happen because certain companies don’t allow artists to rest. I really hope Jonghyun didn’t die in vain. I want this incident to become a sign that companies need to stop overworking their artists. That they need to make sure that their artists actually want to do what they do. A change needs to happen and the entertainment industry is ignoring that.
On a side note, I hope none of you guys are going through depression. No one deserves to go through that suffering. As someone who does suffer from chronic depression, I know how it feels to want to end everything so the suffering stops. And
