Sooryun's legs gave away as tears streamed down her face. She gripped the test result in her hands tightly, crumbling the paper

"Sooryun please stay calm, its not the end. You can still recover" The doctor coaxed, trying to cheer the girl up.

Sooryun's eyes trailed the paper that she held again as she glanced through the words that were printed on

*Confirmed Diagnosis: CA *

"I-I refuse to believe this is happening to me" Sooryun shook her head, glaring at the doctor. The lady could only sigh

Its a normal routine for her to encounter patients like Sooryun, and she wasn't surprised that the girl in front of her didn't believe the results, despite the girl being her niece

"Sooryun, you'll have to trust the results. If you go off now without believing me, it'll get worse. Trust me Sooryun, why would I lie to you?" The doctor said softly

Sooryun began sobbing uncontrollably. Her aunt went over and gave her a hug, patting her shoulders

"We'll get you treated and good as new okay? You have to trust me" her aunt said lovingly and Sooryun slowly nodded her head

"W-what I-if J-jin no longer l-loves me because of this? What if Taeyong thinks of me differently?"  Sooryun sniffled and her aunty her hair lovingly

"If he married you because he says he loves you, then he would do anything to make sure you live through this and Taeyong won't do that" her aunty said determinedly

Sooryun looked at the wedding ring that she had never taken off ever since the day Jin proposed to her.

Sure, she and Jin had a bad start. Jin had initially dated her as a dare by his friends but eventually fell in love with her when they were dating

When Sooryun found out she was, of course, heart-broken but Jin managed to make her fall for him even harder and she willingly took him back

After 5 years of dating, Jin finally popped the question at Sooryun's 24th birthday party and got married 2 months after that and had Taeyong a year after

However, ever since Sooryun's business is meeting with some problems, Jin had been distant to her, coming home late and going to work early.

Sooryun got worried and every time she asked, he would just sigh and ignore her.

They exchanged less than 20 words a day, some days not even talking at all. Sooryun was afraid that the marriage was going to end soon and her having cancer is probably the big win if they would divorce

"Do you need me to talk to him and Taeyong?" Her aunt asked and Sooryun immediately shook her head, disagreeing.

"I-I'll tell them, when I'm ready" Sooryun said and her aunt nodded, understanding her decisions.

"Remember though, this is a family thing. You guys have to talk it out. I'll schedule a surgery soon so that we can prevent further growth of that cell

You just get plenty of rest and I'll update you on the date okay?" Her aunt said and Sooryun nodded her head, giving her aunt a weak smile

"Thank you aunty, for everything. I'll find a way to talk to Jin and Taeyong about this" Sooryun said and her aunt gave her a hug

"Sooryun, I'm always there for you if you need me okay?" Her aunt gave her a small smile and Sooryun nodded

After ensuring that all her belongings were with her, Sooryun bid her aunt goodbye and went out of the hospital, her head hung low

She knew that it would happen, one way or another. Her mum did suffer from the same thing and she had a dying feeling she would get it too

And she did.

Not wanting to cry in public, Sooryun flagged for a cab and told the driver her address, heading home to the lonely house she calls home

Once she arrived, she paid the driver and headed up the walk path. Sooryun's steps halted as she saw unfamiliar heels at the front door

Her heart started beating fast and she could feel her stomach churn nervously. Tears weld up in her eyes again as she started walking up the stairs

Standing in front of the room that Jin and her shared, she pressed her ears against the door.

Pants and moans were heard and she could recognise one very clearly, it was Jin's. However, there was a high pitched voice who was along with him

*Please, please just tell me he's watching * Sooryun thought as her hands shakenly made their way to the doorknob

With every last ounce of energy she had, she opened the door, seeing Jin on top of a familiar looking girl. The girl had her legs spread widely and Jin was pounding into her, face filled with lust.

Sooryun let out a small gasp and Jin's eyes widened. He stopped whatever he was doing and turned, looking at Sooryun in fear.

"S-sooryun, its not what it looks like" Jin said and Sooryun could only give him a small, sad smile.

"You could've told me you love and prefer my best friend instead of me Seokjin. I wouldn't have mind" with that said, Sooryun walked away hurriedly.

Jin cursed and immediately wore his clothes and pants.

"You know Sooryun won't accept you back anymore right?" Minah, Sooryun's 'best friend' said, smirking.

Jin glared at her and gave her a tight slap, unable to control his anger anymore.

"I'm going to make you pay for this" Jin zipped his pants and ran out of the house, calling after Sooryun

Sooryun's tears won't stop falling, even in the arms of someone who is really dear to her next to Jin, her brother

"I will kill anyone who made you cry this much Sooryun-ah" Hoseok is said, anger filling in his voice. Just by him saying that, Sooryun cried even more

*You won't if you know who it is oppa* Sooryun thought sadly, knowing that Hoseok wouldn't risk cutting off friendship with his childhood friend just for his step-sister

Once Sooryun's sobs died down, Hoseok went to make Sooryun some Matcha latte, Sooryun's favorite comfort drink.

Sooryun sighed as her phone vibrated again for the 100th time that day. She knew it was Jin, but she couldn't bear to hear him out

The picture of him doing it with another woman, who conveniently is her best friend, was haunting for her. The day was a huge pain for her

So painful that she almost jumped off a bridge earlier if it wasn't for her step brother who stopped her just in time.

Hoseok sighed at Sooryun's petite body which was wrapped in covers and shaking. Sooryun was still sniffling and he felt really bad for her

Even her favourite matcha latte was left untouched.

"Sooryun, please tell me what happened. You've never cried this much before. I'm really worried for you" Hoseok said and Sooryun sighed.

"Oppa, I have cancer" Sooryun started off and Hoseok's eyes widened. He tried to laugh it off, thinking Sooryun was joking but the girl remained expressionless

"You're not joking...Sooryun-ah, does Jin and Taeyong know about this?" Hoseok asked worriedly and Sooryun started sobbing again

"H-he c-cheated on m-me with M-minah" Sooryun sobbed and Hoseok frowned, not believing the words that came out of Sooryun's mouth

"I don't believe you! I thought Jin loves you" Hoseok exclaimed and Sooryun cried, knowing very well her brother didn't trust her

"Stop crying and explain. I know Jin played with your heart before but that doesn't mean you should go this far" Hoseok nagged and Sooryun stood up, giving him a sad smile

"You could've just let me jump if you weren't going to believe me oppa. I'll take my leave now" Sooryun said softly and Hoseok ruffled his hair, dropping onto the sofa

His sister, even though they're not fully blood related, is as precious as his friends, but he just recently found her due to their haggard past. He didn't know if he could trust her just yet

*Sooryun isn't the type to lie...I have to trust her. She's my one and only family right now*

By the time Hoseok could get back to his senses, Sooryun was long gone. Hoseok inwardly cursed, grabbing his coat and running out of his house

Sooryun's POV

My aunty served me hot glass of tea and sighed as she sat beside me. However, drinking the tea was the last thing I want to do right now

"Come here dear" with that said, my tears streamed down my face as I embraced my aunt tightly as she patted my back lightly

"Its going to be okay. I'm here dear, I'm here. Let it out" my aunt coaxed and I never would've thought it was humanely possible for a woman to cry this much

So much happened within the short span of 8 hours. I got notified that I have cancer, my husband cheated on me with my best friend and my brother doesn't trust me

"Aunty, I don't want to do the surgery anymore. I just want to die from cancer" those words made my aunt pull away from the hug

"Kim Sooryun, I know you had a rough day but that is not a valid excuse to make yourself sicker than you already are and what about Taeyong? You want him to live life without his loving mother?

Jin was a jerk and will be a jerk but he isn't worth your health. Do it for you and Taeyong, not for Jin" my aunt said with a stern voice

But I couldn't help but feel worthless. So what if I live? I no longer have someone to live for. Jin would divorce me and my brother would cut connections with me.

Taeyong had always favoured Jin over me so what's the main point of living if everyone in my life wants me gone?

"Do it for me, live for me" a voice at the back of my head said, a pretty familiar voice said. A voice I could remember so clearly

"I wasn't as privileged as you to find out this early Sooryun. Live for me" the voice said again. It was my mum's voice and I'm sure she won't want me to give up so easily

My tears start to fall again as I hugged my aunt tighter.

"Please, don't notify Jin and Hoseok oppa about my location" I begged and my aunt just sighed

"I make no promises Sooryun-ah. You know how persistent both of them are" my aunt said and I nodded

"Thank you aunty. You've helped me a lot ever since my mum's death" I told her and my aunt smiled

"I've always thought of you and Hoseok as one of my own Sooryun-ah. Now, go and rest. It's been a long day for you" my aunt stood up.

She placed a kiss on my forehead before wishing me goodnight and closing the door.

I laid down in the dark room as a lot of thoughts filled my mind. Is this the end of me and Jin? What about Taeyong?

Sure, Taeyong loves me as his mum but Taeyong loves Jin more because Jin tends to play with him more often

I've always been busy with the company ever since sales dropped that I've not noticed Taeyong drifting away from me

*Taeyong-ah, forgive omma for being so selfish* I thought as I teared up again, remembering the times Jin, Taeyong and me spent times at our yard watching the stars

*Flashback*

"Mum, dad, when I grow up I'll take good care of both my wife and you guys well. I want to be the greatest son ever" Taeyong said

Jin and I could only look at each other and chuckled. Jin pecked my cheeks and ruffled Taeyong hair

"You're full of dreams huh Taeyong? Thinking of marriage already at a young age" Jin said and I giggled when Taeyong pouted

"I want to love my future wife just as much as appa loves omma. Omma, you and appa must see me get married to the girl I love okay?" Taeyong's eyes sparkled.

I just pinched his nose and told him that I'll be with him as long as I'm alive

"I'm sorry Taeyong-ah. I'll live for you and we'll spend more times together, I promise" and with that, I closed my eyes and went to dreamland

Jin's POV

I went home feeling very drained. I searched for Sooryun everywhere but she's not there. Since Taeyong was alone at home, I had to come back

"Appa, did omma return your call yet?" Taeyong asked me worriedly and I had to give him a sad smile, shaking my head

"Your mum is probably busy in the office Taeyong-ah. Don't worry okay?" I lied. I can't possibly tell Taeyong she caught me 'cheating'. He's too young.

Taeyong went over to hug me and I patted his head lightly.

"Appa, when will omma ever prioritise us again? Why is she always busy with work? I miss the old us" Taeyong said and I could feel my shirt getting wet

I sighed and patted his back soothingly, since I can't really tell that Sooryun is working hard because Minah was secretly stealing from the business
