Abigail Wynter wants desperately to break past the barriers that her family has put in place for her. Mark Tuan wants to live a life that he can call his own. They come together in the most unlikely of places, at the lonely docks of Lake Cleary. Two different lives they live, but the same story they share. Both wish to find a place where they belong—a place where they can both bloom in harmony. Through their differences and the opposing forces that work against them, Abigail and Mark find peace and love in each other's company.

Foreword

preface;

Abigail could feel the coolness of the morning dew gently kissing the soles of her feet as she made her way across the field. Her black, bound journal was pressed firmly against her chest as to conceal its precious contents. The sun barely peaked over the tangerine horizon yet she still felt compelled to write. The words that filled her thoughts and dreams, like ancient hieroglyphics, fought to be released in an intimate place that only she knew about. There, they would remain waiting for the day when Abigail finally mustered the courage to share them. The richness of her inner world craved for exploration and fanciful pursuits of whimsy, but fear and a crippling shyness kept such things buried beneath a thick cloak of anxiety.

Every morning, she would continue to greet the sun with a delicate gesture and a smile that only it would see. Its warmth and the pleasantry of the dock at the lake was enough for her. The gentle current beneath her toes subtly grounded her to nature—her home. Her lips would slightly part as her tongue glided over her lower lip in contemplation. The toothy material beneath her fingertips would feel like heaven, its surface decorated with beautiful poetry and random sketches of flora deemed too wild to be flowers. Abigail identified all too well with these brightly colored weeds. While her exterior maintained the appearance of soft, pastel petals, she would never fit in with all the others. Like Alice, she too would be cast out of the garden.

At the far end of the stretch of land, another sleepless drifter walked along the sandy banks near the lake. He kicked at pieces of rubble, with his hands neatly tucked into the pouch of his hoodie. His sighs blended with the chorus of the morning birds. Aimlessly he wandered, looking for some sort of explanation for his pressing insomnia. He was still young and blessed with subtle charm and good looks. If only this was enough to push him along, but these qualities felt like nothing in comparison to the pressure that he held on his shoulders. Carrying the family name meant more than gaining exclusive access to the country club. The life and longevity of his father's company would soon be in his hands. The presence of such worldly possessions didn't tickle his fancy. Freedom is what he sought, the freedom to experience the world as it is—vast and limitless.

That day along the banks of Lake Cleary, two drifters would soon discover the garden where they could both bloom together.

A/N. Hello everybody! I decided to try something a little bit different, as far as writing goes. I'm not going to tag TWDNB as a fluff story because I don't want to be misleading, but I will say that story will contain a lot more romance and fluffy moments than I'm used to writing. I tend to write a lot of angst; and because I can't escape that habit, this story will have slight angst involved. I'm not sure if there will be any ual content in this, but if there is, I'll probably let you know at the beginning of the chapter. I decided to use Mark from GOT7 as my male lead in this story because I LOVE him, and I thought that his personality would fit the main character the most. I usually don't include my prologue in the foreword, but it was so short that I didn't want to waste a chapter. SO I hope you enjoyed the intro and more is to come! I welcome feedback and critique. Don't be shy! For those of you who aren't familiar with what AMBW is, it stands for Asian Man Black Woman. Give it a shot, you just might like it :)

DISCLAIMER. I do not own any of the pictures or celebrities (obviously) used in this story. Celebrities are used for strictly fictional purposes. Any similarities to another story are coincidental. All graphics are designed by me, and I ask that no one re-uploads or steals any material from this story.

Chapter 1: Very good update. I like this story. I love a woman with a work ethic. Even though working can but it gives life some form or meaning. Mark might have to take a lesson from Abby. It will give him a sense of purpose.
