“Yah, yah, yah! Kim Jonghyun!”

“Yah! Jonghyun!”

I couldn’t find him anywhere. Where was he?

“Yah, Kim Jonghyun! If this is your idea of a joke, you’re wrong!”

Silence.

“Jonghyun?”

I couldn’t find him.

“Jonghyun!”

Where was he?

After all these years, I had lost the only thing that I had in my life.

My brother.

When Umma and Appa went away, it was my responsibility to take care of him.

What kind of person was I?

The person who lost the only important thing in her life?

I felt a tear slide down onto my cheek as I continued the slamming of the doors looking for Kim Jonghyun.

The sound of the rain splattered and splashed onto the windows.

Every second that I couldn’t find him, I felt a pang of burn in my heart.

Every minute that I had no sight of him, my breathing stopped.

After an hour, I started to get impatient.

The biggest problem was the parking.

The pedestrian crosswalk was about a three minute walk away.

He could be in danger at this very minute, and I could be safely crossing the sidewalk.

It was darkness.

What had happened to me?

I woke up after I felt something on my lips.

It was CPR.

I felt my eyes slowly open and I saw blonde hair.

“Jonghyun! Why did you scare noona?”

I gave him a big hug, and he drove me all the way home.

He carried me up the stairs, and rested me on my bed.

Then, after an hour, I smelt corn soup.

He fed me, and later, we all went to sleep.

And I wish that happened.

I wish that he wasn’t where I thought he was.

I wish that he was right here, sleeping in the same house as me.

But, he wasn’t.

He wasn’t by my side, and I wasn’t by his.

I hadn’t kept my promise.

I was such a bad sister.

I wanted to curl up and die, but what about Jonghyun?

He wouldn’t have his independence, his freedom.

And I wanted to help him.

But, I couldn’t.

I wanted to hire a lawyer, but he wouldn’t do anything.

He would just try to make us lose, like all lawyers did to us.

Like the case between the parents and us.

They won.

And, this time, I wanted to make sure that he got out free.

I wanted to make sure that they cleaned his record.

To do this, I had to visit the only place where I left years ago.

The place where I quit, and where I vowed to never come back.

School.

If this couldn’t save my brother’s life, I didn’t know who could.

I was the only person who knew him.

I was the only person who could clear his name.
