'More ice packs!' The trainer shouts as he tries to "revive" the starters' legs, Mino sits down on the bench before the whole team crowds around the starting 5

'Alright guys....' The coach, named Mr Yang, says as Mino's team mate hands him a towel

'We have done well to come back from a 15-point deficit..'

Mino wipes his sweat with the towel

'And this may be the last play for some of us' Mr Yang looks around the starters, most of them are in their 3rd and final year in high school. Right, Mino remembers this is his final game in his high school jersey

'So the final play, --its a risky one... Don't foul them intentionally-'

'But coach-'

'We don't have a minute to find another plan, Bobby, just listen to what coach has planned' Mino cuts Bobby off

'Thank you Minho, so the plan is play good defense, force them to take a bad shot... even if they use the full 24-shot clock, we have approximately 6 seconds to run up the court --Forcing a turnover would be a better option though' Mr Yang says his play

'Tch, having no time outs is surely troublesome...' Kim Jinhwan, the starting Point Guard says as he gulps in some energy drink

On the other hand, there is a girl, in fact the only calm girl among the noisy crowd, sitting on the bleachers near the Seoul High bench with a Biology reference book on her lap. She wears geeky glasses, giving out the "nerdy" feel, yet she was still gorgeous in a way. Although she is not shouting or jumping like the others are, she is too, nervous about the ongoing game

Just then, a man, around 6 feet was trying to walk past her but tripped and fell, right on her, squishing her tiny figure.

'Oh my! Sorry Irene!!' The man immediately apologises as he gets up, he does not want to mess with her, she is his girlfriend after all

'Oh nono, it's alright! Be careful next time' Irene says as she fixes her outfit before he notices her boyfriend, glaring at them with intense gaze from the bench

'Kwenchana' Irene mouths silently to Mino

'Jinjja?' Mino mouths back

Irene nods her head

'Goodluck.. and sa...saranghae!' Irene shows a mini finger heart while smiling shyly

'Me too!' Mino giggles quietly

Irene points at Mr Yang, which Mino turns and look

'Didn't you hear the buzzer? Time to get back on court, young fella!' Mr Yang pats Mino's shoulders, who laughs awkwardly

The game resumes, and the timer starts to tick

Mino's assignment, named Kang Seungyoon, a 2nd year student, but captain of the Busan High team, so I do not have to explain how good he is, receives the in bound pass and bounces the ball on the same spot

'Wasting time, huh?' Mino thinks before taking 1 step nearer to Seungyoon

Like Mino expected, Busan High decided to waste time, as the floor opened up for Seungyoon's wasting time isolation against Mino

The clock ticks on and on, as Mino reads Seungyoon's tempo and body language patiently. It is as if Mino was not planning to do anything, so the home crowd got fed-up and started screaming at Mino

'Foul him!'

'What are you doing? Can't you see that you have no time?!'

'Ahh why isn't he doing anything?'

Irene could hear the crowd jeers against her sweetheart from right behind her. She turns around and glares at the students behind, who immediately quiets down

However, the team & Irene are not unsettled, because, they believe that something is going on inside Mino's mind, and, of course, because they believed in him

Mino notices that Seungyoon's dribble is slowing down and it is getting out of rhythm as the shot clock winds down to single digit

'Fatigue, perhaps?... This is way to easy' Mino thinks in his mind before smirking

Before Seungyoon notices, Mino steps up and pounces onto the ball as if it was his own dribble

'What the-' Seungyoon curses in his mind with shock, but quick enough to turn around and rush back

'Let's go!!!!' The bench shouts

It took Mino 2 seconds for him to dribble up the court

Mino is wide open, and he knew exactly what to do

He makes sure that his feet is behind the white line of the court

Mino knew going for the quick 2 point lay up to tie the game up was a better and logical shot, but then again, he knew that his team and he himself could not hold on for another 5 minutes of hell (Overtime)

Irene wears a proud smile on her angelic face

As for Mino, he skips back to his team mates and kept a poker face as his mates mobbed him

Mino turns around and looks at Irene, who happens to be staring at him too

Irene shows her thumb with her eye smile on

Mino stares at a photo frame, which shows a handsome man in a military uniform, his forehead shows a visible scar, though, furthermore his chest is full of medals and awards, a baby boy, sitting cutely on the man's lap, and beside, stood a lady

'This one's for you, dad' Mino places his MVP (Most Valuable Player) trophy beside the photo frame, before doing a salute formally

Just then, Mino feels something small hugging him from behind, he can smell the familiar fragrance too

'Baeby' Mino calls Irene in her nickname (more like his nickname for her)

'Chukahe, pabo' Irene's voice muffles in Mino's large frame

'Heh, I couldn't have done it without your support, Irene-ah'

'Eii, quit lyin --Your mom asked me to call you out, dinner's ready' Irene finally releases herself from the hug before leaving the room

But before Irene could leave, she can feel a strong grip on her wrist, preventing her from going out

Mino pulls Irene into his broad chest, who invites another hug

'Hehehe' Irene giggles

'Yahh, I'm seriously grateful'

'Alright, alright I ge-'

Mino pecks Irene's lips quickly

'Yahh kids, faster come out now! Rice is cold already!' Mrs Song called out from the kitchen

'Neh, Omma!' Mino & Irene shout at the same time

'Take care of the house, both of you' Mrs Song says as she grabs her car keys

'Oh Omma, where are you going?' Mino shoves a spoonful of rice into his mouth

'Company party today, so I won't be back by midnight'

Mino nods his head, Irene sat quietly

'Remember Minho, --'

'I don't want to hear any pregnancy news from Irene any soon' Mino imitates his mother

'Good that you know, son'

Irene giggles silently

'Irin-ah, if Minho lays his finger on you, call me immediately! I'll teach this kid a lesson' Mrs Song says

'Aahaha nehh, omma!' Irene nods her head

'Right, I'm off then'

Mrs Song leaves

Irene stares at Mino, who eats a like a mess

'Yu aren eatin?' Mino says not clearly as his full was stuffed

'Yahh, at least eat like a human, it's alright to be a beast on court, but not here' Irene hands Mino his glass of water, who gulps it down in one shot

'Aren't you eating?' Mino asks again

'Nahh, I had some corn dogs earlier' Irene pats her tiny tummy

Mino chuckles before he ruffles Irene's hair affectionatelly

'But, is it really alright for you to be here?' Irene asks this time

'Of course, my baeby is more important than some team party'

'Really?'

Mino nods his head as he continues to shove his mouth

Just then, Irene takes out the Biology reference book and her pencil box from her bag before placing it on the table

'Yahh' Mino groans

'Huh?' Irene obviously does not understand. Nothing was more important than studies in Irene's life, except Mino, and keeping her body in shape, of course

'I skipped my team party so that I can spend some quality time with you... tch I bet that they are enjoying meat now'

'Aww, my Minho is upset?' Irene pats Mino's head

Mino pouts, indicating a kiss on his lips

Irene giggles

'Fine..' Irene goes forward and give Mino a brief peck on his lips

'Happy?' Irene says while giggling again

'Really?' Mino says in disbelief

'Huhh?'

Before Irene could say anything further, Mino comes forward and gives a looong kiss

Irene is obviously taken back by that, but was quick enough to reply the kiss

Both of them fought for dominance, as Mino pushes his tongue into Irene

They made out for 2 full minutes, until they have to gasp for air

Mino continues to eat as if nothing happened, Irene, too, begin to "study"

'Yahh' Mino whines again

'Hahahaha sorry, Minho-ah.... I'm not as talented as you are in any other fields... so studies are my final ticket to go America, with you' Irene mumbles as she reads through the notes she took down in class

Right, Mino was offered a scholarship from a college in America, he remembers how Irene was spazzing when he first told her the news, it was as if Irene was the one offered. It is true that if Mino does well in college, he may have the chance to be drafted by a NBA team and play professionally the the best league in the world. However, Mino decided to reject the offer, along offers from local colleges, without Irene's knowledge.

To tell the truth, Mino has never thought of playing basketball for a living. It is true that he has put alot of effort into the sport during his lifetime, but he just thought that basketball as a hobby. Furthermore, even if he changes his mind, there are Irene & Mrs Song in his life. It is not that he does not believe Irene would not make it to America, hell yes Irene will be accepted into a college America, but Mr Bae (Omg that sounds so weird AHAH), Irene's father, was not feeling very well lately, so Mino knows that Irene has to be by his side day in and day out. Thus, it would be a hassle for Irene to fly around Korea-America consistently

'Erm, Joohyun-ah...' Mino says. Whenever something serious was about to be brought up, Mino would call Irene by her real name

Irene looks up

'Yes?' Irene, knows Mino's little habit too

'About going America... I.. I don't think I'm going' Mino says cautiously, avoiding Irene's eyes

Irene removes her glasses

'Why?'

'I reje....rejected the offer' Mino says

Irene looks at Mino with questioning eyes, which Mino notices

'We..well err.. Ya know... Mr Bae isn't feeling that well recently... so, I thought it will be better for us to remain here'

'...' Irene remains silent

'Well, I have never thought of playing basketball for a li-'

'I need some space' Irene says before standing up and heads to the couch in the living room

Whenever something bad happens, like arguments or something, Irene would tend to isolate herself for a while, so that she can recollect herself

Mino knows that too, Irene has been expecting Mino to further his career to America, so this news was quite a strong hit on her head. After finishing his meal, Mino does the dishes before heading to the living room, where Irene was quietly staring at blank space. Mino plops himself beside Irene before switching the television on

'What's wrong, baeby?'

'I don't know' Irene rests her head onto Mino's shoulder, Mino caresses her head

Both of them watch the drama that was broadcasted silently

'Sorry, Minho-ah' Irene breaks the cool silence

'For?'

'Being an anchor on your career... Without me, you could have set sail for a longer journey'

Mino feels that his shoulder getting wet

'Shh... shhh.... why are you crying baeby' Mino pushes Irene's head into his chest and hugs her while Irene curls in his arms as she sobs quietly

'Hikks... it feels like... I'm a selfish girlfriend who cannot even provide her boyfriend his dream hiiks' Irene's voice muffles in Mino's broad chest. It hurts Mino whenever he sees her crying

'Shhhhh... What are you saying? I'm the luckiest man on Earth from the moment you started talking to me... You are the greatest gift God has ever given me' Mino remembers his first encounter with Irene in junior high, it was certainly a tough one

'Bu..but... About your dream...'

'Eii, I must have been spouting bullcrap... I've never thought of playing basketball for a lifetime, you pabo'

'Huh?' Irene pulls out from his arms

'My true dream, is to be with my one and only Joohyun for a lifetime, your parents and my mother'

'Really?'

'Yes, really' Mino pulls Irene closer before planting a kiss on Irene's forehead

After Irene has calm down, both of them continued watching the drama, with Irene lying on the couch and her head resting on Mino's lap

'Minho-ah'

'Hmm?'

'What are you going to do, in the future?'

'Hmm.. I guess I will go to college, get a degree, and get a decent job? I'm smart after all, if you forgot'

Irene smiles

Right, call it God was being unfair or what, He literally gave Mino everything in life. Looks, talent in basketball, personality, fighting skiils (He has protected Irene from gangs before, he had to be hospitalised for 3 weeks though), a loving mother, a girlfriend, and last but not least, brains. Mino is pretty decent when it comes to studies, though he is not in the same class as Irene (She's in the first class), Mino is in the second class, right behind Irene

'Minho-ah' Irene calls out again

'Hmm?'

'What do you like me so much?'

Mino hesitates for a while and wonders, why does he like this pabo so much?

'I don't know, from the second I saw you in school, I knew you were the one for me... So... love at first sight?' Mino replies

'Eii, cheesy much' Irene giggles

'What about you?'

'Hmm?'

'Why do you like Song Minho?'

Irene, like Mino, ponders for a bit. She just loves every inch of Mino, from head to toe, that she cannot even describe how much or why she loves him

'Alright, that might be hard to answer... err... Song Minho is your?'

'Song Minho is my EVERYTHING~' Irene says in English

Both Song Bae giggles madly
