Weavers of Words, Spinners of Tales (WINNERS ANNOUNCED)
Description
Fairytales are a rite of passage, in a way, a part of childhood that can never be erased. This is a contest designed for the weavers of words, the spinners of sentences, the tellers of tales. In this contest, each participant will choose a classic fairytale from the prompts provided, and be tasked with breathing new life into the story. There are three ways to do this...
1. Tell the tale in the original fashion the original writer intended (but with your own characters, using the original elements)
2. Spin the happier version popularized by Disney and other mainstream media (with your own characters, using the elements of this version)
3. Weave the characters into a new story all your own (RECOMMENDED!!!) (Twisted into something only recognizable by those reading between the lines)
Whichever choice is made, you must make your characters REAL. Make them come to life, dance across the screen and tell their tale with vitality and depth. Make this story your OWN, an old tale told in your words.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Wouldn't it be derivative, not to mention plagiarism if fairy tales were rewritten like the original?
A: No no, in the same STYLE as the original. For instance, the original Hans Christian Anderson tale of the Little Mermaid is NOTHING like the Disney version. So it must be done with your own characters and written in a true re-telling, but can use the same plot as the original.
Q: Can the stories have boyxboy pairings? Or girlxgirl? Or must they be boyxgirl?
A: They can be any pairing you would like, completely up to you! Idolxidol and idolxoc also accepted.
Q: Can we submit a story that's already been written, as long as it follows a prompt?
A: No, sorry, there are actually quite a few fairytale stories and so it must be one specifically made for this contest.
Q: Can I have a co-author or a beta-reader?
A: Absolutely! However, if you win, you must share the prize with them.
Q: When is the deadline for this contest?
A: June 30th, 2016! The story must be completed by then.
Q: Can I join other contests with the story I make for this contest?
A: Yes, as long as the other contest allows it as well.
