Author's note: Originally posted on Chenpionships. A huge thank you to the prompter for this wonderful prompt! I fell in love with it instantly and was desperate to read Banana Yoshimoto’s book. Sadly, my ebook copy of Asleep will only arrive in September so I wasn’t able to read it before I began writing this fic. I couldn't work in elements of the novel like I wanted to but I hope you’ll like the story, anyway!
