"I couldn't!" She screamed after him. He was moving, leaving, getting away from her reach. "I had to leave! Jongin, you have to understand!" 
Her voice was hoarse, her shouts echoed, but he didn't stop. He kept on walking as if she wasn't there. She could see though, the way his shoulders shook and the way he lowered his head, ashamed of his tears. Not until the water dripped onto her neck did she realized that she too was crying. 
The ocean roared and the sky poured. The waves striked and the thunder rumbled. And her, she ran. She ran against the wind and the sand, she ran with all the oxygen knocked out of her. 
She didn't - couldn't - stop until her arms wrapped around his torso, not until she could feel his warmth and hear his heartbeat. 
"Please." It wasn't a statement. It was a plea to be heard, a breathless attempt to be set free of guilt. When he didn't push her away, she heaved a sigh of relief. 
"I was too dependent of you. It was like I exist solely becase you did. I had to go, to stop being a burden. I had to be my own savior and allow you a chance to be your own. I was killing you, slowly and painfully. Jongin, please. Please understand." Her face was pressed against his back, and she spoke in a timid voice. For a second she wondered, had he heard her at all? 
They stood like that for a while, he neither hug her back nor pulled away, so she took comfort in his warmth and the fresh smell of soap. Then his warm hands were on hers, pulling them apart but never letting go. Slowly he turned, his eyes a dark shade of red and his lips quivered.
"Silly," he breathed out. "You blew life into my dead world. You weren't killing me, so don't ever do that again."
