It really bugs me because I would like my account to not be set to private so people can view and go through my stories. I can't stop them from posting on my wall and it's really annoying.

Then we would have to report people who advertise their stories too, and if we hold in account ever single person who does this, then there would be too many reports, and I'm not sure if the mods would be able to handle it. OTL, but that's my opinion.
