I would just ask them and if you get rejected then just ask if you can still be friends or just do whatever you want

I'd do a mix of A and D. First I'd drop a few not too subtle hints in order to avoid a complete shock when I finally tell them. A is the most important – to tell them and being honest.

Lowkey be like "Yo, wanna go out? Just kidding, unless you want to." And then hope for the best. Worst case scenario is you can laugh it off.
